I. AM. OBSESSED. WITH. THIS. Holy shit. And what a genius move to give us something completely different for the debut then what we've been seeing from a lot of other bg this year. I love that they went for a more dramatic, emotional and slow-paced song, and I truly hope this resonates with a lot of people.
I love how all their pre-debut videos were the "typical" debut songs....and they come out with a vocal showcase for their debut. I haven't been this obsessed this early over a group in a very long time.

Literally how I felt while watching the MV
I watched the MV when it came out and thought Marco will surely get emotional! And yes I did too, of course! This MV is so beautiful and emotional. I think this is such a good example where the MV totally enhanced the experience of the song! Also, this sound was not what anybody expected, right? I settled in to watch some hard hitting dance track with lots of rapping...so big surprise!
So happy to see Tag here being able to show his full potential. Since High School Rapper it was clear that he is someone special. Ciipher could have been so good but well, we all know what happened... You know that Tag and Jiung (P1harmony) have a song on soundcloud? That was such a cute collab.
Then Yedam, I was heartbroken for him when he didn't make the TNX lineup on LOUD. He was so close. He was also on boy planet right?
Anyways I will keep my eye on them for sure!

And I love P1Harmony and Jiung is amazing; there's so many collabs and crossovers in kpop that clearly I'm still unaware of haha. // Yes, the song is unexpected and the moment Tag bounces on the couch along with the song it's apparent this was going to be something different. I loved what they've done here as a group, for all their songs. I still need to check out Hot Stuff!

i think that the pineapple cans are a reference to the movie chungking express, a beautiful 1994 neo-noir by wong kar-wai, in which one character is lovesick after his girlfriend breaks up with him. he can't accept that she's gone, so he decides to wait one month before the breakup becoming "official" (as a way to give her a chance to change her mind). in the meantime, he keeps buying cans of pineapple - her favorite - whenever he finds a can with the expiration date of that one-month-later cutoff. it's a really moving story about loneliness, denial, and indirect longing - for example, he keeps calling her house but only talks to her family members bc he's afraid to talk to her, lest she confirms she wants to stay broken up.

Orpheus wasn't suppose to look back at Eurydice whilst they go back up the surface, thus, effectively regaining her life. But, Orpheus' doubts and impatience betrayed him when he had to look back to check if Eurydice was indeed behind him before they could even step out to the surface. With that he lost his chance of having her back alive. He wasn't tricked. He was tested. A life for his trust. Be he couldn't hold on to it.
What sets Onepact from the 5th Gen or even from the current Kpop Idols is that their music is real art, real music. There's substance in them. They are not just joining the bandwagon and doing what are are currently doing. Which is so great. Music should be diverse, dynamic, and real art. In the context of the Greek Methology, I must say Onepact as a whole is the representation of Orpheus. As Orpheus music pierces everyone in the mythology, I feel that Onepacts music also pierces the soul. Must be Nice, and Rush in to You, for example, really dove into my heart. In all honesty.

It is crazy cause I just watched an old mv for the first time today, TRCNG - Missing, and there is a member sitting alone eating a bunch of cans of pineapple and crying. I immediately thought of this video and the scenes are so similar its got to mean something. Also, that song is really good I think you would like it, the group is disbanded but I like that song.😊
I think Jay aimed the gun at his heart. Jay falls in love with a selfish person too deeply. So his mind turned black. He knew his love hurt him, but he couldn't control it.
Jong-woo's emotional performance shows that loving someone selfish is very lonely, but sometimes it can be a reason for life. Jong-woo is like a struggling black bird with a gunshot wound. Was Orpheus' heart like this after losing Euridike?
Love really comes without permission even if you really want to end it. At one point, we love someone anxiously and were loved by someone. So I got a special feeling watching this MV.

Just discovered this group through the MV yesterday ! Feel what you said about this kind of videos making all your hardwork worth it, in fact this is songs and MVs like these that make me remember what is so likeable about kpop and what made me fall in love with the genre :)
Just love everything about this. The song is fantastic, knowing that it's produced by one of the members makes it even better. All their voices are so gorgeous, hearing such clear and neat bare vocals makes me so freakin happy ! Super impressive work.
And gotta love these dark visuals and atmosphere that they went for. The settings, the colours... really dig these darker/creepy concepts with an emotional touch.
All the scenes were so nicely shot and edited as well. Think the dance parts were particularly memorable, the lighting and camerawork perfectly highlighted the choreo and all the members danced so beautifully.
And not only did all the members sang and danced wonderfully, but they also did such a great job at acting and portraying their respective characters. The emotions they conveyed through their facial expressions, but also through subtle gestures and through the intensity of their gaze... they really did amazing and their storytelling was no joke.
It was great to have your input regarding the potential meaning of the MV and its link with Orpheus' myth, can definitely see how the video could echo this story (and kudos to other people in the comments, whose explanations were very helpful as well). Always so cool when kpop incorporates elements from other media and art forms, borrowing references from movies, paintings or literature, or from other domains like mythology, philosophy...
All these elements put together created this masterpiece of a song/MV. You can tell they put a lot of thinking and hardwork into this, and this deserves more attention. Curious to know if they'll carry on with this concept or switch to something different... guess we'll have to wait and see >:)

I already knew the story of Orpheus and Eurydice but that did not help me understand the video more tbh 🤣. I need to see the lyrics translated.
So big greek myth nerd here: Orpheus is a renowned music player who loses the love of his life Eurydice, Orpheus makes a deal with Hades to get Eurydice back, Hades agrees but says “Orpheus you must play your music as you walk back out of the Underworld, Eurydice’s soul will follow you but if you look behind yourself, before you finish climbing the long steps and walk out the final gate back to the world of the living, you will lose her and she must stay in the Underworld.” This test that Hades gives Orpheus is a test to how much Orpheus loves and trusts that Eurydice is behind him, even if she is not in his line of sight. Unconditional faith that your lover is by your side even in death. Before Orpheus walks out to world of the living, he fails the test and looks behind himself showcasing that he cannot trust, and he sees Eurydice get pulled back to the Underworld as a result of failing. Losing his one and only chance of having his lover in his arms again.
All throughout the walk out of the underworld orpheus is panicking “what if ive been tricked, what if eurydice isnt there”. So i think we see Orpheus’ panicking and uncertainty being acted by the members in the mv.

i think tag is meant to be hades (him being a crow and having the painting in the room with him and later burning it or burnt by seongmin? hes fulfilling his contract with orephus which i believe is jay? and the girl eurydice must be jongwoo waiting for him (jongwoo calling and no one answering, being in the dark especially in the solo moments could be representing the cave)
i think seongmin and yedam are directly related as yedam and seongmin fight seemingly in the same location seongmin was pouring gasoline??? idk im grabbing at straws

@@marcogennuso i feel you would love it, its about two identical twins who can feel eachothers pain but get separated at a ayoung age to avoid it. they reunite years later but one is a business man and one is a gangster. the 'bad' twin gets beaten up by a mob and the 'good' twin pretends to be him to find out who it is. it touches alot on politics etc.
the title is must be nice and in some translation it means "envy" "jealous of you" 🥹
