I just did a trip to glacier national park…in the winter/snow. It was below 10F over night. Used 10% while sleeping for 8 hours.
I tell you, the key to making the back comfortable was a pillow/fluffy mattress topper

I didn't really show it off in the video, but I was using a Klymit Static V Insulated sleeping pad

How tall are you I'm 5'11 do you think I would fit comfortably if I slept in the back of the Tesla Model 3? Or would it be a tight uncomfortable fit. I've looked into the model y as well but I would prefer the model 3. As I can just sell my Honda fit and buy a used model 3. And not have to spend extra too buy a tesla. As the Model Y is a lot more money. I was wanting to do a roadtrip across Canada/USA. And buy a model 3 and just sleep in it in different safe neighborhoods. Then live out of library's and coffee shops while I learn computer programming. Not really planning to do this for a year or two if I do.

I bought one because dealerships in my area won't sell me a new gas car unless i finance. Some had 1 or 2 new on the lot due to shortages. Others had none, but had "used" vehicles with like 5 miles on it. And they jacked up the price above msrp on both used and new. Tesla was easy, no hassle purchase. Love it! 1 month wait. Use to worry about range, but quickly got over it. Plugged in everyday, don't have to wait to pump gas lol. Long road trips, just super charge when doing rest stops.

Yep, it's a surprisingly effective camper!

I laughed a little when you wondered if the lights would go off. As someone who has spent more nights in Walmart parking lots than campgrounds in our van, we always try to park so the lights don't sneak in through our blinds. Nice job, that's hard-core in a car!

It's surprisingly roomy in the Model 3!

@@MikeInTheWoods it looks cozy to be honest. We have 2 adults and 3 dogs and our campervan is claustrophobic at the best of times! I need to get away by myself. My car is a Honda Fit and I've considered camping in that many times! maybe I ought to one day! It's fun watching you camp in your car.

Nice man! I love stealth camping in my model 3 too. Just curious at 5:38 could you show your screen settings more next time? How are you doing air flow without temperature control? Also are you just a hot sleeper or are you trying to conserve battery?

Once you turn Camp Mode on, tap off the 'AC' button. Should let the fans keep circulating air without using temp controls. And I mostly do that when I'm not able to plug in overnight to conserve battery, since I have the equipment and am used to camping in cold temps

My Diesel car has an added Diesel Heater for remote starting when it is cold weather (Opening a warm and ice-free car when needed, is nice! Also being able to drive with the "free" heating on during use, even in very cold Scandinavian weather).
I used heavy electric forklifts, with interchangeable batteries, also for external extra charging during use, during my working years, so I will never, ever buy an EV!!!
As now 76 I own my few years old car and hope to be saved from needing to - rent an EV, as the Absolutely Absurd Price and heavy fall/degradation of its value during its rather few years of effective life make it a total waste of money!
