I have the apples on my dining room table and will begin processing them tomorrow for applesauce, apple pie filling, apple chutney and sliced apples for the pantry shelves. I very much enjoy watching all of the progress you both are making on the homestead. Keep up the awesome work.
I'm about to make apple pie filling (sliced apples) tomorrow, too! We just made apple butter tonight for the first time, and it's lovely on fresh bread. So happy with it that I might have to make more haha! Thanks so much for watching :) we appreciate you being here!
I loved the song, and the apple sauce straining device. I need one so bad.😊
I did my tomato sauce by hand with an old wooden potato masher & fine mesh sieve - this was so much easier. I'm so happy I'll have it for tomatoes next year!
The chicken coop is looking amazing.
Your apple sauce looked yum…
You are such a hard working couple 😊
Best wishes from Ruth in New Zealand
I hope you saved some of the seeds to grow your own apple trees!

Made our apple sauce, butter, and pie filling last weekend! I always add cinnamon too - it makes the house smell AMAZING~!
The smell of cinnamon & apples is literally the ideal fall scent haha makes me want to make something appley every day so my house smells good! I just made apple butter tonight & hoping to make pie filling tomorrow :)
I'm going to pick apples nest weekend and do v the same, make applesauce and apple butter. And try apple jelly with the skins
I just made apple butter tonight! Pie filling is next :) love the idea to make apple jelly, too!
interesting, do you sell your apple sauce? this sort of thing is often done in bulk over here then they put them in smaller jars for the sale; one way of small farms making a little income.
can't wait to see the finished chook house, it's already looking like the Hilton lol very spoilt chickens
loving the vlog, thanx for sharing
We don't sell it, we just loveee applesauce haha we actually legally can't sell it here. Per state law, we'd have to have a separate kitchen/facility that our pets aren't allowed in. Plus, we're barely making enough for ourselves right now. Maybe someday if I'm no longer working a day job I'd look into selling through cottage laws! :)
Wait where did you get all these apples? I'm thinking about making some apple wine.
I searched a bunch of the apple orchards near Hendersonville & messaged them about seconds apples to see who had some! The one we went to was Creasman Farms & they have the seconds apples for $10 a bushel.
We’re going back today to pick up more so we can make hard cider😊
What is the brand of the food mill?
Sorry I'm just seeing this! It's a Johnny Applesauce Maker model 250 - I have it linked in our amazon storefront. I'll try & share a link but i dont know if youtube will let me.
so much you can do with apples!!!
I make a barbeque sauce to die for!
ooooo that sounds amazing! Okay, I'm gonna need that recipe!
