I’d watch a 32 minute Chef JP squash soup recipe over a 3 minute recipe any day! Main reason? He’s the best, and he goes into great detail along the way. My favorite chef of all time. ❤

I place a rolled kitchen towel under the squash, just as you would do with a bowl, that way it’s pretty much stabilizes it. Much easier to cut much safer. I love your videos. You truly a world-class chef.♥️

I love Acorn and Butternut Squash. But I simply roast it with roasted garlic and shallots and add Good Fresh Ground Salt and Peppercorn medley, some Fresh Herbs like Thyme and Mexican Oregano and Good Butter, like KerryGold Butter and top it with Really Good Expensive Smoked Cheese, like Aged Smoked Cheddar, Smoked Gruyere and if the Budget is looking good some Stilton...

Dear Chef, We must be telepathic. This morning I noticed a butternut squash in my vegetable locker. It's been there for months, I think I had planned a curry with it. Today I was going to make a prezzamole and fagioli soup but I had some leeks, no carrots so I used the squash to make a rich creamy soup. I whizzed it up and added cream with cayenne. I'm going to start this evening's meal with a liquid aperitif first.

I have a tip for you! I have been baking acorn squash with butter for years and this is the way you can cut it in half. First I use my chefs knife so no sawing is needed. Take a slice off the bottom so it will sit flat on the cutting board with the stem is pointing up. Angle the blade slightly beside the stem so the finish of the cut will be somewhere off center at the bottom, start the cut by moving the knife in a rocking motion while pushing on both ends of the knife and once you get the cut started it is very easy to finish the cut. Seriously try this it works like a charm. Use an ice-cream scoop to remove the seeds. Once you do a few it gets easier.

Oh man, I'm writing down the grocery list right now and I can't wait to make this! It's sounds wonderful!!! I'm such a soup person. Can eat it all year long! And I totally get what you're saying about Cinnamon. I had a touch of it to my Chilli and it makes such a difference, without even knowing that it's there!

Cutting a big squash in half,is definitely a challenge. Did spaghetti squash, last night,as a "noodle" parmigiana side dish.
    Thank you Chef!

Chef, your soup looks really tasty, I could taste it as you were trying it. I made butternut squash soup today and boy it was good, do you have a recipe for that soup, I’d love more soup recipes from you, I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again you’re the best Chef. Thank you🥰

I read the title as "acorn _AND_ squash soup" and was fascinated how you were going to incorporate those two together. I've done things with acorns before. They only really shine as an ingredient when they're made into flour.
