Dating really does suck. It is so difficult to find someone that you connect w/ in person. I've been single for 3 years since the end of my long-term relationship and I've had a few good experiences (that eventually came to an end) and many bad ones. It causes me a lot of anxiety to date. I've sort of put the quest for love on hold because I did think it was me. Maybe I was the issue and maybe in some instances I was the problem. I can't say for sure. Now I am just giving myself time off from dating and concentrating on career stuff. Coincidentally, I am a lot happier. You're right though -- people don't know how to date. It's a difficult thing, some people get anxious (and they get sloppy drunk), some people are too egocentric, others are judgmental -- it's messy. I'm definitely not perfect but I consider myself open and willing to get to know others w/out expectations or judgments. I wish you luck and hope you find what you're looking for and in the meantime have fun and try not to stress. Everything will fall into place eventually. ❤

I think sometimes we meet people who are either on the same path as us or completely opposite. You need to just sit back and think about what it is you truly want in a partner, go slow, be friends, and get to know one another first before entering into a relationship. Everything happens for a reason and you can usually tell if someone is not suited even as a friend within the first 3 dates or so.

Well I agree with you Thien. Dating is so difficult because there are so many liars and cheats out there. I met someone on match and thought they were an amazing Japanese guy. He actually would cook for me and would take care of me. I can say I never had that experience before, so I really gave my all. I thought he was just such a great guy, so I thought. I got burnt because he was hooking up on other sites and I didn't know it. I should have caught on when he would take my phone and look at what I was doing which was nothing. The moral of this story is you have to be very careful if you fall for someone, because they may not be who you think they are. Another lesson learned in my book of looking for love :)

Dating really does suck. It is so difficult to find someone that you connect w/ in person. I've been single for 3 years since the end of my long-term relationship and I've had a few good experiences (that eventually came to an end) and many bad ones. It causes me a lot of anxiety to date. I've sort of put the quest for love on hold because I did think it was me. Maybe I was the issue and maybe in some instances I was the problem. I can't say for sure. Now I am just giving myself time off from dating and concentrating on career stuff. Coincidentally, I am a lot happier. You're right though -- people don't know how to date. It's a difficult thing, some people get anxious (and they get sloppy drunk), some people are too egocentric, others are judgmental -- it's messy. I'm definitely not perfect but I consider myself open and willing to get to know others w/out expectations or judgments. I think sometimes we meet people who are either on the same path as us or completely opposite. You need to just sit back and think about what it is you truly want in a partner, go slow, be friends, and get to know one another first before entering into a relationship. Everything happens for a reason and you can usually tell if someone is not suited even as a friend within the first 3 dates or so.
I haven't gone on more than 2 dates in 2 years.🙊 I don't trust guys anymore after my experience with my ex.

Well I agree with you Thien. Dating is so difficult because there are so many liars and cheats out there. I met someone on match and thought they were an amazing Japanese guy. He actually would cook for me and would take care of me. I can say I never had that experience before, so I really gave my all. I thought he was just such a great guy, so I thought. I got burnt because he was hooking up on other sites and I didn't know it. I should have caught on when he would take my phone and look at what I was doing which was nothing. The moral of this story is you have to be very careful if you fall for someone, because they may not be who you think they are. Another lesson learned in my book of looking for love :)
