Is it normal for my sub-adult gopher to still be a giant chickensh**?! 😆 He's definitely gotten more tolerant of handling, but I can be a bit clumsy and we had an awkward handling session with a "confident grab" a few weeks ago and he actually bit my secondary hand. Felt like a puff of air and he seemed to calm down immediately after. :)
Remember that when you put them back is perhaps more important than getting them out. Never reward that bite, hiss, musk, or tail rattle. They do have individual personalities, and some take a little longer than others.

@@snakeenvy yep! I never put him back until he's fully calmed down and then I let him crawl back in on his own without moving my hand any.
