Hi Jason, I just wanted to thank you for all of the interviews that you have done. I discovered glam metal about eight months ago and I've been learning about the different bands, from back in the 1980s. I wasn't around then, so it's really interesting to watch these interviews, because it gives me some perspective as to what these bands were like. I especially enjoyed the interview that you did with Stephen Percy, Ted Poley, and Nicole Couch. Keep up the amazing work! 🎸
I prefer the long format. I takes 2-3 listens of all the interviews to hear everything. That’s why I comment multiple times sometimes. Your freakin jammin these guests bro, great to see it happening. Thanks for always asking about the Dime connections!!! I love seeing him memorialized!!!
I don't recall listening to Dangerous Toys before, although I recognized the name (gonna change that), but this was a really fun and interesting interview. Jason is a great guest. I enjoyed hearing about the evolution of the clown artwork in particular.

I wore out Dangerous toys first album i listened to it so much. It kicked ass. Even the broken teeth stuff was really good. Miss the great days of hard rock

Can't wait for this Jason G :) ...given how long Jason M's list of bands and catalogue goes, I'm wondering if this will end up being a multiple chapter story. Still holding on to an original Dangerous Toys Clown (front)/"Sportin' A Woody'(back) concert tee from 1989 - maybe worn a couple of times. Was too young to go to the show but managed to snag one in my local resale rock shop - that existed at the time. The front art on the shirt was so well done, I could never fathom washing it so hardly ever got worn. May have to pull it out from its frame and throw it on for this interview.
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen Thanks so much for this Jas! Hands down an artist I absolutely need to see live. As expected, you managed to bring out some new information, including details around studio recording experiences that I've never heard. Great interview! And I need that collector Jack In the Box - so fantastic!
Great episode and an equally solid guest. Jason seems like a guy you want to sit and bs with and maybe go 2nd hand cd shopping with. imho the first 2 DT records are quintessential with Best of Friends being a sleeper that is probably one of my favorites.

I spent months plugged into my sonywalkman (with auto-reverse bitches!!) wearing out Sonic Temple and Dangerous Toys smoking & drinking and playing Zelda Dentures of Link and completely lost in the music...... I'm an old man now but will never forget how those albums made me feel and how much they influence my emotions when I'm playing guitar..... Epic albums, both. Epic bands. Thank you JG and JMcM and Co. Also, I asked a few people about the HA album and not a one said anything sounded peculiar which to this day boggles my mind because it is soooo obvious, it sounded exactly like JMcM said "a little hot", or something I dunno... I bought it two more times cuz I thought maybe I had a jacked up copy but no, it was intentional.
Hey Jason, any chance you could have a chat with any of the guys from Tesla? Even Tommy Skeoch would be very interesting. Jeff is a very cool cat. Also, by the way, Billy White would be killer! He was also with Don Talkenn on his solo album.
Such a great interview! Loved hearing the origin of the signing of Kingofthehill. Another overlooked band that came out just a hair too late in the scene. Frankie Muriel (vocalist) is still active with a different project, and does still play Kingofthehill songs every now and then. Nice bit on Michael Hannon as well. I saw him a number of times with his act, American Dog when they prowled the scene in Columbus, OH in the 2000's. You see him pop up every now and then. I loved Dangerous Toys from the first time that I heard them on Mtv. I'd love to see them put out some more material.
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen Maybe a part 2 interview is in order to cover all of the topics that you couldn't get to. It inspired me to queue up and listen to all of the DT albums I have: (4) studio +(1) live album. Was a good day of music.

I like Dangerous Toys. They got grouped into that hair metal/glam scene but they were just a Texas metal and hard rock band filled with good looking dudes with long hair (like a lot of others)... Jason seems like a cool and humble guy
What a great interview! Wow, that fucking clown was the shit!!! And I can draw too . I saw that cassette at a place called Pick N Save in Jacksonville Florida and I remember seeing that album cover and going who the fuck are these guys??? so I asked the clerk have you ever heard of a band called Dangerous Toys and he was like yeah they’re kind a like Aerosmith..🤷🏻♂️So I bought the cassette and wore that thing out. I introduced that cassette to a lot of my friends and they loved it so here’s me I find you guys played your music to all my friends and they loved it and now they want me to draw that clown on every fucking thing, some got tattoos on their arms I did poster boards in colored pencils of that clown still to this day. People ask me about Dangerous Toys clown, and I’m just a fan that found you in a Pic-N- Save store. Jason McMaster, what a cool guy. I saw them play in Orlando with Junkyard my buddy and I went to go see them and I’ll never forget. When Dangerous Toys came out, The guitar player came out and tripped on his cord and fell flat on his face, and he tries to stand up and you could see the stars and shit circling around his head, the band was like what the hell just happened great show though.🤡
McMaster seems like three people (to me): 1 - The monster singer - whose stage-persona is as fiery as his mane. 2 - The intelligent conversationalist - who keeps you glued to every syllable. 3 - The goofy friend - who you want to listen to records with. For any who weren't around in 1989: "Head-bangers' Ball"-fanatics used to stay up late - to watch these groups premiere. (Adam Curry (with his bad mullet-hair) - was host.) // "Dangerous Toys" was one of those "made for 'M.t.v.'"-bands - that epitomized what we were - for that era: sleazy rockers - boning pump-&-dump bitches. (We'd mock 'Slaughter' - singing "Hump all night; stink all day"!) // Hanging-out at the beach (after blowing our savings at the mall - buying these cassettes), and smoking weed - off of dented soda-cans. (Jason M.'s stories bring it all back: laughs & tears - dude!) A D.T. boxed-set (picture-vinyls) would be rad. ---- To Jason G.: I thank you - for giving us these great inter-views. (They're addicting!) // One group I never hear mentioned - is 'Rock-City Angels', who broke through - in 1988. // 'Geffen' didn't put enough promotion behind them - opting to focus on 'Guns 'n' Roses', and 'R.C.A.' (gradually) fell out of public memory. // Their song "Mary" was co-written with Johnny Depp, who dropped guitar-playing - in favor of acting. (He'd just met Nicholas Cage - whose uncle was Francis Coppola; so...boom - career!) // Bobby Durango (sadly) has passed, but other alumni might be pleased to be contacted and remembered. Here's their "Young Man's 'Blues'" - which I (highly) recommend: - ua-cam.com/video/jFIBFhcSt64/v-deo.html . Andrew (Sat., 10-16-21) (2:48 a.m.)
Dangerous Toys signing to Columbia Records is a very unique situation. What a story that was! I saw them 3x (twice as a club headliner & once with The Cult) on that first tour and they were awesome every time, then the 2nd album came out and for whatever reason they weren't booked into my city, the 2nd album bombed bad and that is probably why touring was cut short for it. I am glad he talks about my home town heroes Broken Toyz (KingoftheHill) and Jason is right, that band was bad-ass. KOTH should have been huge.
All of their tour support was dumped into Operation Rock and Roll. That tour did very poor business and was drastically cut short. Tours are scheduled six months or more in advance, so all of bands went home early and had nothing really lined up. Sad, really.
“Darrell Was Always A Guitar Legend In Texas” - Jason McMaster The first record is called Metal Magic and the second record has the song HEAVY METAL RULES. The songs I Am The Night and Valhalla are 180 bpm Fuckin Metal and the first record with Phil is called POWER METAL. TYVM for Not referring to the older Pantera as glam and associating yourself with lazy media regurgitating status quo. Peace
Man I want to give you mad props and commend you on your patience with the singer of dangerous toys oh my God, ole Red is very wind LOL. He goes into great detail about things and bands that nobody else knows but him 4 minutes on in and you can't get a word in you can't even ask a question you can't even be the good interviewer that you always are LOL but you've asked him like two questions and he went off on some tangent about bands called broken teeth and dangerous tits LOL I really dig your Ratt interviews man. thanks for the work you put into your work
I always thought / wondered if the name was taken from the Watchtower song "Dangerous Toy" very ironic they come out the same year 89? 🤔 In any case loved DT since the debut. I liked it as much as GNR nasty dirty raunchy rock a genre classic from cover to the tracks. McMaster has so much raw swagger on those albums
I worked with a guy who had the 1st album clown logo tattooed on his arm. I asked him if he was into Dangerous Toys and he said i waa the first person to ever know who that tat was
Saw them front row at Orlando Arena open for The Cult. Still got the guitar pick I caught! Jason asking the lethargic crowd if they all just got their wisdom teeth pulled that day was classic! Sidenote, remember when Winger cut off the hair of Riki Rachtman's Bill Z. Bub Jack in the Box on Headbanger's Ball given to him by the band? He was understandably very pissed
Is it me, or does Jason McMaster kinda sounds like like Geddy Lee on the first album? It's like Rush if they were an 80s thrash band. Devestating...as in fucking awesome...❤👍💪🤘

To Jason G.: I thank you - for giving us these great inter-views.
Here's their "Young Man's 'Blues'" - which I (highly) recommend:

Love to hear from Jizzy Pearl of LOVE/HATE and all the original Members? they still got it! HMR.
Jizzy has been on the show twice, check out the past interviews
@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen sweeeeeet, love you HMB
Damn! I have to have one of those boxes! Wow!
“Darrell Was Always A Guitar Legend In Texas” - Jason McMaster
The first record is called Metal Magic and the second record has the song HEAVY METAL RULES.
He goes into great detail about things and bands that nobody else knows but him 4 minutes on in and you can't get a word in you can't even ask a question you can't even be the good interviewer that you always are LOL but you've asked him like two questions and he went off on some tangent about bands called broken teeth and dangerous tits LOL
I really dig your Ratt interviews man.
thanks for the work you put into your work
Ok so picture this if when Axle Rose first started becoming a pain G&R fired him and put Jason in his place 🥂 perfect fit
That would have been awesome. I think Axl is an A**hole. Maybe they would have been around a bit longer.
MIDNIGHT shirt \m/ I'm impressed
Jason Mcmaster is the real deal great guy to
Also love DT another great post 80’s band. #jasonmcmaster #dangeroustoys #post80s
I'm pretty sure it did. If memory serves, that song was written when Jason was still in the band.
Damn, wanted to hear more about the "Artist" album. That is a strange album and the song "Transmission" is trippy.
that whole album is great.
🤘Talk Louder!🤘
I worked with a guy who had the 1st album clown logo tattooed on his arm. I asked him if he was into Dangerous Toys and he said i waa the first person to ever know who that tat was
I have the Broken Teeth album Bulldozer. Great vocalist
All right!
Great last name homie!
Bill Z ??
@@cheeseguy4998 The name of the clown mascot for Dangerous Toys, Bill Z. Bub.
@@donosborn9899 Ahhh thanks :)
This has me sportin' a woody.
Awesome
Like I said....bad ass singer
Very nice guy too!
Is it me, or does Jason McMaster kinda sounds like like Geddy Lee on the first album? It's like Rush if they were an 80s thrash band. Devestating...as in fucking awesome...❤👍💪🤘
Jason Green please consider Nick Royale for an interview.
