    Ha, I can assure you from personal experience, it is far better to use a metal mill for woodwork then a woodworking equipment for metal work.

    Love it. Would it work to cut thin slices after making it round and making them into table coasters? Provided they were sealed against the moisture, would the heat and cold negatively impact the resin or wood?

    A great gift idea for wives...as long as they never see it as an opportunity to use - "it / you" /and the word..."flake" in the same sentence...just sayin' ;)...Happy New Year to you and your family. (BTW, well done, looks great).

    Why did you cut it out as a hex, then cut it circular on the lathe? Wouldn't it have been easier to cut it out as a round to begin with?

      The hex shape allowed me to make the 6 legs of the snowflake on the mill, with the flat sides being held in the vise.
