We all understand that what manufacturers say things are built for aren't the only thing they can do. Nice project.
Now we know. You are one of Santa's workers in his workshop! Happy New Year.
Nice use of metalworking tools... ;-)
Seriously, turned out beautiful.
What an awesome project. Really liked how this one turned out mate!! 👍🏻
You make cool stuff.
Ha, I can assure you from personal experience, it is far better to use a metal mill for woodwork then a woodworking equipment for metal work.
Wow that's a nice light catcher.
Really great video. Thank you.
That's awesome!
Very cool love it
Love it. Would it work to cut thin slices after making it round and making them into table coasters? Provided they were sealed against the moisture, would the heat and cold negatively impact the resin or wood?
I think it would probably work fine. That's a good idea.
Awesome.
53K subs and less than 200 likes...very strange
Nice!! (carbon dioxide pops the bubbles)
A great gift idea for wives...as long as they never see it as an opportunity to use - "it / you" /and the word..."flake" in the same sentence...just sayin' ;)...Happy New Year to you and your family. (BTW, well done, looks great).
Lol. Walked right into that one!
Nice!
Why did you cut it out as a hex, then cut it circular on the lathe? Wouldn't it have been easier to cut it out as a round to begin with?
The hex shape allowed me to make the 6 legs of the snowflake on the mill, with the flat sides being held in the vise.
@@FarmCraft101 Ah, good point. Would have been unstable otherwise.
👍
maybe vibrating would ensure bubblelessness
or put under vacuum for a little bit
Yep. A vacuum chamber is on my wish list.
a venturi pipe valve, some hose and you could make one for very little $. ScienceCraft 101
@@FarmCraft101 Or maybe just a bit of pressure.

@@FarmCraft101 Then again, vacuum might not be the best idea...

This whole project screams "I FORGOT TO GET A GIFT FOR YOUR PARENTS OH GOD I HAVE 3 HOURS"
vacuum pot
Isn’t mica “sand”, sorry I had to cringe, “ oh my lathe tools “. Back to the wet stone for a few hours, lol
it was all good until you drilled a damn hole through it!
What do you do with it without a hole?! Throw it like a discus? ;-)
@@FarmCraft101 Perhaps use it as the world's most unstable coaster?
A small eye hook screwed into the side is another option
Now - you see, I didn't care much about this project.
