I have a great Jani Lane story- mid 90’s rock club in NJ The Birch Hill- Jani jumped off the stage and was body surfing, so when he got to my area I was standing with a group of young girls, to include my girlfriend at the time, when Jani came my way I was the only one to hold him up, I actually had him over my head and tossed him back into the crowd! After that song he jumped back on stage and pointed to me and said “ I’d like to thank this guy for saving me out there” ! Then next song was a ballad and Jani came back out to the floor and sang the song to my girlfriend! That was EPIC! One of my coolest and proudest metal moments! Jani one of the coolest rock stars of all time and greatest singer!
Much respect to Maddi for sharing her time, thoughts, & stories of her dad. Jani was a special musician and person. And the real fans understood this. He was beloved. We miss him so much.
Madi is so beautiful and talented.... Great interview Jason as always. I'm actually taken care of my dad, he has the flu he is 71,always be there for your parents everyone... We only have one Dad and one Mom make it count as Jason always says we are on borrowed time. ✌🏼👏🏼🤘🏼
My band opened for Jani’s band around 1999 at Pinke’s here in Las Vegas. His backline didn’t show up, so our band offered to use ours. He was very appreciative afterwards and gave us $500. We told him we didn’t want money, but he insisted. He was a very friendly and gracious guy! RIP Jani.
Thank You Maddi this was so great love your music and you keeping your dad’s music alive. He was so very talented and underrated he truly was the music man! Thank you also Jason for the great interview!
Warrant was a huge influence on me growing up. We used to play Heaven, Sometimes She Cries, Blind Faith, I Saw Red, etc. on our acoustics. I still listen to the albums, been playing Dog Eat Dog recently, fantastic album. Jani was one of a kind, what a talent. Thanks for doing this interview with Maddi. I enjoyed learning more about your lives. Your interviews were how I was introduced to your channel. I believe prior to that I think there was some connection with Todd Kerns and watching some live performances.
Great interview Jason, i am a big warrant fan, uncle toms cabin and i saw red are so beautiful songs, great to hear about his family background!🙏💚💜💙💖☀️☕
Jani was such a special talent. Tremendous song writer, and his voice was as distinctive as any singer of that era. RIP, Jani. Maddi, you seem to be as genuine and caring as was your father.
I'm certain he would be beyond proud of his girls. Madison is accomplished and articulate and earnest. I wish nothing but good luck to come her way, but she's positioning herself to maker her own luck. Bravo!
What a great show today. Thanks to Maddi for coming on. Maddi, your dad was a musical genius and there was about a two year period where he was the best frontman in all of rock music. Watch the Warrant show from Hammerjacks for proof of that. You should be proud that he meant so much to us. Great show Jason!
Maddi is obviously a very intelligent and talented young woman. I’m sure her father would be incredibly proud of her. I wish her nothing but happiness and success in life. Thank you for this interview.
Jani Fkn Lane is one of the most underrated singer/songwriters of ALL-TIME, PERIOD. I was around him many times but I didn't want to bother him, I wish I did.. But I do own a few very nice pieces including his personal Six Flags photo ID that he signed for a female fan there . Ultraphobic and Belly To Belly are EXTREMELY underrated rock gems. A sober/together Jani could of VERY easily of fronted any and ALL of these touring nostalgia/legacy/tribute/arena/classic rock bands like Journey, Foreigner, Survivor, etc...... Yes, he was THAT good !
I think belly to belly and ultra phobic are fabulous albums and I have played them many many times in my car. My friends don't seem to think so who are warrant fans but what do they know.
Maddie looks so much like her father. I find it intriguing that she doesn't think the handwriting on the note found on her father is his. I think she she should look into this more. I really enjoyed this video thank you Jason!!
Became a Jani/Warrant fan in 89 saw them in a small club in Seattle and many times after. The last time I saw him in 2005 in a small club in San Diego on the Bad Boys of Rock tour with Kevin Dubrow and Steven Adler I hardly recognized him as he walked into the club. Talented singer and songwriter much much better than Cherry Pie taken too soon. He always had a minute for fans. He owned a great club in downtown Orlando for a short time. Great interview as always Jason! I wish his daughter the best!!!!
cherry pie is an ingenious song, it changes key and does all kinds of cool guitar stuff plus clever lyrics, it's wild, i dont know why it's considered a lower level song
I got to meet your dad and see Warrant play at Annie's in Cincinnati Ohio.. He was very sweet and respectful....seem to be a good man..was a great show your dad preformed well and totally rocked!!🤘 God Bless Take Care honey
Thanks for sharing jason. God bless all the ratt n rollers! Jesus saves sinners! Saw warrant many times and helped put Maddi through college buying tapes and cds and concert tickets! God bless you Maddi! What a good interview!
Great interview! She seems like a very well-grounded young woman; and I like Jason's interview style: laidback but moved along well, asked the questions people wanted to hear; and was a comfortable interview. Good luck to her!
Warrant used to rehearse at a storage facility. Roll up the big door, cars and trucks pull in, tailgates down, and rock into the night. Different era when life offered more freedoms. He lived a great life.
Great interview Jason. I was a big fan of Warrant ever since I saw the debut video of "Down Boys" on Mtv. I'm sure Jani Lane is right by Maddi's side guiding her through life. I wish Maddi all the best going forward after graduation in May. R.I.P Jani Lane
I remember in one of the last interviews Jani did (on the mighty Classic Metal Show) he was seriously considering getting off the road completely and just becoming a songwriter for other artists. If he had been able to do this it probably would have saved his life, because it was the road, and easy access to temptations, that brought all of his demons out.
I have always loved this band because of this singer. I have all their CDs. I have always loved when Jani would put a nice acoustic ballad at the end of every album. It would show that side of him that most audiences didn't see because he was playing heavy loud Rock. But he could do much more. I remember after dog eat dog warrant let out two more albums that were a little different from the first three and I didn't hear very good things about it but I could never understand that because I have played those two many times and I love them. In my opinion one of the best and most credible bands of that era. 😊
I love the LIVE shows.... she is so correct❤....when i lived in Vegas, i used to go to a rock bar called Pinky's....I have a couple of different pictures of me with Jani.... he was very nice 😁❤️.... love her…… She seems very down to earth just like her dad....
I love the Cherry Pie album. Blind Faith, I Saw Red, Bed of Roses, Song and Dance Man are such good songs. He was a great songwriter who never got that credit because of the hair band moniker.
Jani was a generational talent I once got to meet - unfortunately at the Van Nuys court house (2010). Jani was Way cool, even when we were both dealing with our individual disasters (was my 2nd DUI).
Thank you Maddi. Jani Lane is one of Akron Ohio's favorite sons. I saw him perform when he came home throughout his career as well as your uncle Eric. Such a great artist who was down to earth and always available to fans. I still listen to his music often. He is missed.
Thank you for the interview it was interesting. For Warrant Jani Lane wrote and sang the songs and for Cherry Pie he wrote that song in fifteen minutes on a pizza box because the Record Executive of Columbia Records Don Ienner said he did not hear a hit song on the new record. Does she have any of the Gold or Platinum records of DRFSR or the Cherry Pie records because a lot of records, cd’s were sold to achieve gold and platinum album sales for Columbia Records. I can say I bought the cds for both DRFSR and Cherry Pie for my Sony Walkman.
The first Warrant album was important in my 80's young rocker. The second album was not that good for me. I love the third one though alot. Thanks Jani Lane for the musics. R.I.P.
Jani wrote better grunge than the grunge guys - don’t believe me, go listen. He was an amazing writer, singer….. Like I wrote above, a GENERATIONAL TALENT

This young lady is really cool. I'm glad to see she is doing well. I'm a huge fan of her father. She can sing pretty good too!
God bless her and God bless RIP Jani.. He was such a good singer and even better writer if you ask me.
She seems like a very smart well-adjusted young lady. Best of luck to her in whatever she chooses to persue in life. I'm sure Jani would be proud.
We'll said
Thanks Jason, nice interview - Jani would be proud no doubt
Great interview Jason, i am a big warrant fan, uncle toms cabin and i saw red are so beautiful songs, great to hear about his family background!🙏💚💜💙💖☀️☕

Janie was one of those guys that would go to watch local bar bands play while he was on tour
I'm certain he would be beyond proud of his girls. Madison is accomplished and articulate and earnest. I wish nothing but good luck to come her way, but she's positioning herself to maker her own luck. Bravo!

I recall seeing Jani Lane and Bobbi Brown at Cedar Point way back in the early 90's.....

Her uncle Eric sang a beautiful Beatles song at Jani s funeral🙏
Wow. Great interview. This young lady is great. Her dad would be very proud !
I just realized today is Jani's Birthday. Tragically, he passed away on mine. One of the Greatest IMO. RIP Jani, gone but never forgotten.
Excellent interview! Touching & poignant. You guided it well. I will now be following Ms. Lane. Thank you both!
Warrant used to rehearse at a storage facility. Roll up the big door, cars and trucks pull in, tailgates down, and rock into the night. Different era when life offered more freedoms. He lived a great life.
Greetings from Northern Ireland. Maddi is such a lovely young woman and speaks very well, her Dad would be very proud of her.

Met Jani at Gazzaries for a brief second in 89 just before they kicked into high gear.
I remember in one of the last interviews Jani did (on the mighty Classic Metal Show) he was seriously considering getting off the road completely and just becoming a songwriter for other artists.

Went to Jani tribute at Akron Civic theatre. And it stormed hard that night .
I love the Cherry Pie album. Blind Faith, I Saw Red, Bed of Roses, Song and Dance Man are such good songs. He was a great songwriter who never got that credit because of the hair band moniker.
Great interview
Thank you

Sadness will kill you,,,
👍 button reminder......woo-hoo
I'm sorry to hear she had to put up with Donald Trump because of her mothers poor decision making skills. I'm kidding of course. 😂
Haha way before she was born
Fantastic interview Jason!
