The guitarist is legendary Korean artist Kim Soo Cheul (Cheol) . This was a special episode of IMMORTAL SONGS celebrating him: Kim Soo-Cheul and NEW FRIENDS…Forestella and others were invited who he’d not met or played with before and this is he how he contributed to this performance, playing the sequence Queen does before the song starts. Forestella absolutely proved that they can temporarily be a trio while their youngest does his military duty til 19th May 2025. At this reaction date, he’s been away for 2months already and the trio have been performing with out him at events but this is the first Immortal Song appearance without him. The show must go on.! No concert tours til Woorim’s return, so now is a brilliant opportunity for each one to deliver some solo performances too…HyungHo , the one in the middle here, also known as rock singer PITTA, just had the most amazing 2 days of concerts mid January and is doing an encore concert early February. MinGyu , their leader , is doing his concert in March and Doohoon’s still in the musical RENT as MARK besides these Forestella performances and just did a few songs at a NEW YEARS EVE GALA event on 19th January. MinGyu was also a temporary MC for KBS classicfm radio world music for 4 days while the regular one was away sick…he was born to do this too! They have been very busy and will continue to be so til Woorim returns. HyungHo also released a new song he wrote and composed also as m/v called Wave on the Sea for the movie : Noryang: Deadly Sea which was released in Korean cinemas recently.
ok really quick, woorim, the bass, is doing his mandatory military service until may 2025. it's gonna suck, but thankfully we only have to do this once with forestella. the other 3 members are much older than woorim and had already completed thier service before foestella became a group. as this was forestella trio's first major televised performance since woorim enlisted, the choice of "the show must go on" was very intentional. the guitarist at the beginning was kim soochul, a famous rock star from back in the day. in his old age he has transitioned to being a composer and conductor. this episode of immortal songs was titled "kim soochul and friends" so he contributed in some way to each artist's performance. for forestella it was the guitar prelude.

This isn't even their coolest performance because they're a man down. They still blow me away with just the 3 of them, but when all 4 of them are singing it's transcendent.
