For me personally... This is the first time I've ever seen anyone react to this song. I saw White Lion, Ozzy & Vixen, in Concert when this song was popular back in 1989. Thank you for reacting to this song, lads! Great job!!
I was a teenager when this song came out and I loved it. Now that I am 45, listening to it makes me emotional because I think of the world my daughter has to live in and the song really hits home.
1987 this song was released.
It hits even harder over 30 years later, with the refugees, conflicts, wildfires, pandemic, poverty...they felt bad for the state of the world back then. 2020 makes the 80s look like heaven lol.
This song explains exactly what's going on in the world today.
This is such a powerful that the world needs to hear.

This is one of those songs that really impacts me I think what the vocalist was trying to say was that if we were United under God as our leader we wouldn't need any more presidents and all the wars would end and we would be in peace and love it's a beautiful thought

Very true, every generation seems to want to blame the generations that came before them yet they seem to do the very same things.
Every generation wants to live in a Utopia, but NO UTOPIA can ever be created by such flawed (Humans) so they settle for trying to create their own private Utopia, IE, big house, nice cars, fancy phones/computers/clothes/ vacations etc etc.
This of course comes at the expense of those less fortunate than others, which is why we have 1st world countries and 3rd world countries.
True it's laziness what I mean generally speaking is one generation before messes up and it's like "So sorry kids we messed up and we are to lazy to fix it ourselves", So we must have your generation fix our mistakes that we were unwilling to fix ourselves.
There are dictators, religious extremists, and militant countries …. We have no choice but to defend freedom with democracy and that sadly requires building bombs and guns. We really have no choice.
Smart phones are good and bad. I like my Iphone I am typing on now, but the internet and social media really has made things worse from my life experience.

This is a Christian rock band so most of their songs are about peace and in God but they were super famous back in the day the song makes me cry everytime I hear it because I'm a mother and a grandmother so I completely understand

I know I can and I have done so in the past. Mike said in an interview that he was born a Christian but he doesn’t really follow any religion. They’re just a (great) hair metal band.

What he's singing about is what us Mormons would consider "the millennium" or the millennial reign of Christ when Satan will be bound and Jesus will reign for the last thousand years of the world and I believe that hauntingly beautiful guitar solo represents the cries of the children.
