    Dude, our culture just straight up deleted tweens. Like, kids between 9 and 13 should be kids. They're slightly more mature than the ones younger than them, but at the same time, when I was 12 I thought that the heat death of the universe was a pressing issue to tell the president about. I didn't know anything except that I liked sun showers and lavender, and that I didn't like going to school. And now the culture we live in has erased the room in those years to develop a mind and a personality. This isn't to say that tweens now don't have a personality; in my opinion they'll grow up to be more mature than I will, such as their surroundings are. But it is to say that because they don't have space to be themselves (with social media and peer pressure being all that matters), they're going to struggle deeply with poor self image and monetary stress.

    • @mynameisreallycool1
      @mynameisreallycool1 8 місяців тому +41

      @@roxassora2706 The problem is the parents. Some parents don't want to take their kids to places like Claires, because it looks "too tacky" or "too childish". They care more about their kids looking "classy" and "mature" than they do about letting their kids actually have fun. Then those girls make the other girls (online or at school) feel stupid or childish for liking normal things that are normally targeted towards tweens, so then THEY want to go to places like Sephora or Lululemon too. People are blaming influencers, but those influencers wouldn't have any influence on the kids if it wasn't for the parents, and the child influencers are dressing this way BECAUSE their parents want them to, or are at least allowing them. It always leads back to the parents.

    It makes me so mad seeing people disrespect their parents. There are some horrible people out there that dont deserve kids, sure, but when all they want is to spend time with their child it breaks my heart. (E.g: did anyone see the slideshow about the boy who was always embarrassed of his mum for having one eye, but it's actually because she gave him hers when he lost it in an accident)

    I’m 12 abt to be 13, I don’t act like this AT ALL. It’s really annoying how people think all 12 year old girls who are girly act like this. I like lulu and Sephora, but I rarely just shop there. I only go if I have money, and that’s rare. Whenever I do go into those stores, I’m always respectful and dont act all snotty and bratty. So please, don’t stereotype all of us!!🤍

    Some people just have to remember not all 12-year-olds are like that I’m 12 and I don’t have anything like that according to teachers when I was going to school before I was homeschooled including doctors and family members. I’m smarter than most adults I would never act like that it’s rude. And yes, I do use skin care, but the only reason why I use skincare is cause it is something I need

    As 12 year old these stores don’t exist in many places so workers don’t go through this. Also me and my bffs as well as cousins love shopping but are always said that we are responsible and respectful in shops and places we go to. So I’m sure that they are just spoiled. I feel like this is kind of unfair - the media keeps painting tweens like this and I think it's unfair on all the sensible and kind tweens out there
    Also, why are we blaming the children and hating on them? Why are we not educating them if we have a problem, and holding the people spreading the consumerist message accountable? Blaming kids and doing nothing about it is kinda acting like a child 😐

    This is why I am thinking about not putting my kids in school and homeschooling them instead and then maybe paying for some hobbies for a social life and no touch screen phones until they’re at least 13. It genuinely saved me in this generation (genZ) to have parents that couldn’t afford fancy things so i was humbled. Children need to play, they need to go outside and experience life physically and not through an IPad screen. Your kids IPad shouldn’t be the one raising them, you should!
