One of my favorites by her is from the "Show Mask Go On" entitled "Oh' It's Not Yet Evening" ua-cam.com/video/cfTiQkJrLi0/v-deo.html. It's an over 300 year old folk song about a Cossack warrior who dreams of his death in an imminent battle. On Diana's face you see sadness, anxiety and pain of the soul of the Cossack warrior. One would swear she borrowed that soul to perform the song.
A little history of this song. "Oh, it's not evening..." ("Cossack Parable", "Stepan Razin's Dream" is a Cossack folk song. The song probably refers to the encampment of Cossacks on the islands of the Caspian Sea. It is sung on behalf of a Cossack who tells his bad dream, foreshadowing trouble. Stepan Timofeevich Razin, also known as Stenka Razin (circa 1630, prep. Zimoveyskaya, Belgorod discharge - June 6, 167, Moscow) - Don Cossack, ataman of the Don Army, politician, leader of the uprising of 1667-1671, the largest in the history of pre-Petrine Russia. During the mutiny, both the rebels and the punishers showed exceptional cruelty.
On June 6 (16), 1671, Stepan Razin was quartered on the scaffold on Red Square after the verdict was announced. They read a long sentence. Razin listened to him calmly, then turned to the church, bowed on three sides, bypassing the Kremlin with the tsar and said: "I'm sorry." The executioner first cut off his right arm to the elbow, then his left leg to the knee. His brother Frol, seeing Stepan's torment, was confused and shouted: "I know the word and deed of the sovereign!". "Shut up, dog!" - Stepan croaked in response. These were his last words: after them, the executioner hastily cut off his head.

@@peterhowells7309 What I've never heard mention of her singing this particular song are the gasps she makes. To me, they are as powerful as her eyebrows.
@@encrypter46 The gasps are a fairly normal thing when Diana sings an emotional song. Many singers have trained not to do this, but with Diana I think it is very much part of the feeling of the song and it is necessary to be there! Even Diana remarked that "My eyebrows seemed to have a life of their own!" But again, Diana puts so much commitment into her singing that her whole body sings the song, not just her voice. An extraordinary singer with extraordinary natural vocal abilities.

Diana's fans are in luck. We have plenty of vids from her younger periods. Mostly found on her official UA-cam channels. Diana's mum and sister did most of the filming I suppose so the videos are not usually professional quality, but Diana's talent shines through and her charisma means you cannot take your eyes off her once she starts performing.

I recommend a Spanish singer, her name is Diana Navarro with the song "El perdón" She has a very particular voice. And she always transmits with those characteristic melismas she has. Yes, Cossacks are predominantly found in Kazakhstan and Ukraine now. The name "Kazakh" and "Cossack" (Казак) even sound similar! There are around 100,000 Cossacks in Kazakhstan but both Zaporizhzhia and Don areas in Ukraine also had large Cossack populations. There is (was) an amazing Museum of Zaporizhian Cossacks, if it's still intact and you are ever in that area in the future, it's well worth a visit!
