ok i am duly impressed. 1. it has a tie to thomas jefferson. i did a talk on him about 20 years ago. 2. a lot of famous humans have come and gone in and out of this basilica. . 3. i feel privileged to have be baptized there as an infant in july of 1948.. so i was baptized in very impressive and famous place. ok then..

I watched to learn about the building for an art history class and it has made me want to take a trip there to see it in-person.

The irony is that the Gothic style is relatively new, dating from about the 1100s AD. Neoclassical styles date back to about 800 BC to about 300 AD.
