Just got one of these at a yard sale. Haven't had the chance to play it myself as its not strung up and needs a setup badly, but this is the best demo on youtube regarding this guitar! Thank you.
I got a new one like this, with the matching amp, for Xmas 1967. I was a happy 7 year old picker. It was so much easier to play than the full size dreadnaught I've had since 1962. I still have the box guitar, but my Silvertone was stolen. My next guitar in the early 70s was a 1971 Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Tobacco Burst. Many other Gibsons and Fenders later, I still miss my old Black Silvertone. 😿🎸🎶🥁❤️💪😎👍💙
I have one of those and I love it. I think part of the reason the output is low is because of the distance between pickups and strings, I would never rewind those pickups. I just turn the amp up and it sounds great. I enjoyed your playing, good video!
I'm meeting a guy tomorrow about one of these that appears to be refinished in red and it doesn't have the original pickups. The price is fair though. 220 dollars.
I cant believe you can get a guitar like that for such little money! Here in the UK it'd probably be pushing £1000! I think I need to take a guitar buying/pistol shooting USA holiday some time! :-)
There's a great abundance of guitar models here, and I'm sure you rarely will find Mosrite models in Britain. I can't say if that's true about the 1958 - 1968 department store guitars, such as this Silvertone that looks like it was built by Harmony. Just mind about importing laws; some woods used to be protected against importing, and even these cheaper models could have Brazilian Rosewood fretboards. I'm not sure what current laws are for that wood.

Play that !! Yeaaa! Sound pleasure !
One cool guitar. Great demo.
Great review! I have one just like it, also from 1960. My number one guitar. ❤
👍 love the vintage sound and feel.
Love the channel brother. Keep them coming. We lost a GIANT today Mr Peter Green. The one and only guitarist that ever made me cry...
Man I love the vibe of this guitar!

Great licks and tones as always brother!
You would think that there would be more subs because man you are amazing at this
love your playing
Having no side dots makes your muscle memory so good, I have this guitar and just put a lollar p-90 in the bridge and its sweet
Outstanding review Eric.
Iraqveteran!! I didn’t know you had this Chanel!! We share the same two passions! Great playing man! Thinking about buying one of these!
Those are fantastic slide guitars. Sounds awesome!
Sounds great! The old Silvertone, Harmony and Kay guitars have something real special about them. Some are even better than modern guitars.
Dang! Some nice licks
Great presentation. What amp did you play? Did you have any reverb and distortion?
Killer!!!
I have this guitar in a burst finish. The Hershey bar pickups are bright and spanky!
What strings you using on that thang

Whoo! What amp was that?
Our parents were right... You don't need the expensive one.
There are some things a guitar needs to do to sound and play right, but being expensive isn't always needed.
