The 70s were crazy and fun times, people wore sexy clothes (or nothing) and sang sexy things. Yes, Frida's legs were awesome.... I am surprised you have not heard So Long before. It is one of my favorite ABBA songs. Their voices are so good in this song. Those outfits are so famous too! They were singing to a studio recording playback.
@@GivenToe That _is_ a little surprising - maybe you're even younger than I thought; certainly when this came out, almost every ABBA track received huge playtime, including this one.

This is from a tv special called Made in Sweden for export. It features Abba, Björn Skifs, Sylvia Wrethammar among others. I hav seen Björn Skifs singing "Michelangelo". I was six years old and I didnt have to go to bed and I was allowed to see this on tv.

They wore these ‘clothes’ in several videos. Some this way and others with the rest of the skirt. Such a good song. Love your entire reaction. Great to see this afternoon. Thanks for great song and reaction.

Hello, so happy to see You return with more ABBA songs in our ABBA Journey "So long" (1974) has many interesting things to analyze its rhythm is in the similar glam rock style of "Waterloo", it was recorded in 1974, months after ABBA's triumph at Eurovision And since the reissue of “Ring Ring” after “Waterloo” barely made it into the UK Top 40, ABBA's search for a second hit to reinforce “Waterloo” focused on “So long” precisely because of its rhythm and style in the vein of "Waterloo" But it didn't even make it onto the UK charts, only #91 believe The following year ABBA would try "I do I do I do I do I do" another Top 40, until finally it was "S.O.S." that broke the ‘only one hit’ curse to #6 in the UK and #15 in the US, and from then on ABBA was the hit-after-hit machine. Yeah Happy song from Abba, they can certainly Rock , good dance moves for back then, Abba will always be Legends & happy memories from their music🎶 thanks David, enjoy your Weekend🙏💙🤘
a separate comment, dear GivenToe actually the ABBA album of the same name ends here in its original edition The other two tracks you are referring to are bonus tracks. 1) "Crazy world" (which was later the B-side of the single "Money money money" from the following album "Arrival") 2) a medley of 3 songs that ABBA covered for charity in Germany I think (and later it will be B-side of the single "Summer night city" in 1978)

Hello again Mylord This is my third giventoe video today😊 After listening to Tommy and Dan , my ears had to adept to Abba first😂😂. I love Abbba's energy on stage. Unfortunately I was to young when they toured so I never saw them live. Only on TV Abba was the only music my parents and I agreed on😂😂. Everytime you do an Abba reaction you take my back to my childhood and I love it so thank you for that❤
Well hello the milady! Yeah it's a bit different from Dan and Tommy XD Yeah this was very cool! I liked the energy! I am very happy that I could do that! Take care now!
Yes, they are both very pretty, although Agnetha is always my favorite, now if you thought this was one of their sexiest versions, you should react to their live performance of the song Waterloo in Norway 1975, they both come out very pretty, especially Agnetha in that one. presentation, there is no doubt that ABBA's best outfit is the cat dresses.
I watched that performance and yes, Agnetha seems much more animated and looser in that performance. One thing I’ve noticed about Agnetha onstage is that for the first have of ABBA’s career she always had her legs closed on stage as if her things were glued together….almost paralleling the time line of her relationship with Bjorn but when Does Your Mother Know comes out everytime you see her on stage she’s spreading her legs open….squatting….just different type of body language. Check it out. I’m surprised others haven’t picked up on it
I'm glad someone else calls them "shirts" rather than dresses! They do several other tracks in those cat dresses (there is a floor-length version as well). But this - and this "made in Sweden" version in particular - was the most, shall we say, uplifting! I think Frida (the dark-haired one) was sending herself up somewhat; she's a trained dancer, as well as singer. As for whether people wore such in the '70s - well, the time of the miniskirt was actually the late '60s, a little before your time I think (and mine, though I was alive then). But I'm not sure how many people actually wore them - though look at Lulu, Cilla, Sandie Shaw, and many others - even the Queen!, at the solemn investiture of Prince Charles (1969), wore something above the knee. As for the song: as you say, rock 'n' roll - actually somewhat repetitive, but definitely uplifting. They didn't do a _lot_ of rock - I'd say the best examples are (the live at Wembley versions of) Does Your Mother Know (which actually is very moral if you listen to the lyrics!) seguing into Hole in Your Soul; anyone who says ABBA don't do rock should watch the end of that. But it _is_ the exception: watch - and listen to - the rest of their repertoire; they have a pretty wide range of material. The early years are mostly thumpentinkle: very nice tuneful verses, interspersed with a thumping (but also tuneful) chorus: Fernando, Thank You For The Music, and (most typical of the type) Chiquitita. But they have many other styles - gentle ballads, even slight reggae, standard pop - even some smoking instrumentals (Intermezzo no. 1, Arrival). And most of them are now on UA-cam in video, with the two beautiful women. (I guess the guys are good-looking too.) Frida (Anna-Frid) has an interesting life story, too. (NOT a Lebensborn baby, but … oh, just read.)
You think you're gonna make me softer with your fancy car But I can tell you all your tricks ain't gonna get you far They say that money's got a magic touch But not to me, it doesn't mean that much You won't have me tonight All right, all right, all right, all right So long, see you honey You can't buy me with your money Tracy, Daisy, they may be crazy But I'll never be your girl So long, see you honey You can't buy me with your money You know it's not worth trying So long, so long, so long You didn't have to send me flowers like you did today I wouldn't keep a thing from you, I gave them all away The girls might fall for everything you've got But I'm not one of them, you know I'm not You won't have me tonight All right, all right, all right, all right So long, see you honey...........
It's funny that there tends to be a puritanical view of times gone past compared to the modern age. The mini skirt was introduced in the 1960's and hotpants in the early 70's. I think there were about three different variations of those cat dresses. This was the earliest and had no names on the back. It was also very short. They later had their names put on the back and a slightly lower hemline. And of course, there was the 'tear off' long variation (See 'ABBA- Waterloo in Australia 1976').
Bra drag i låten! Magi! I should have followed you home.
Giventoe, you are very funny 😂. Another great reaction. From when I loved their first Album Ring Ringwhich got me hooked, they wen from strength to strength. In my eyes this 'ABBA' album was better than Waterloo at the time but extremely hard to seperate them now - got older ! 👌
It was only recently when I watched this for the umpteenth time that I realised why the girls' cats were blue and yellow. The Swedish flag, of course! Then I noticed it everywhere: Benny's piano, Björn's guitar... 😍
Was fun to see your reaction and loved the special effects (the fire 🔥 and smoke 💨) in your video. Very funny 😁. And yes it’s a great song. You won’t believe how much they have evolved musically when you move on to the next album!
Great reaction as always (and long overdue). Please move straight on to the next album 'Arrival' as you only have bonus tracks left on the current one. So Long was definitely an energetic album closer!!
He wants to do ALL ABBA songs and Crazy World and the Medley belong to them, so he should do them, too. He also did the bonus songs (except the Swedish ones) of the first two albums.
Yes i do prefer those even 'slightly non-synchronized' dance moves in the end (cause they are so naive and adorable ) than the ones other acts did/do the following decades that some seem like an army of 'marrionetically' synchronized monkeys jumping up n down wiggling their silicon 'stuff' here and there.Uhh! Agnetha and Frida was like putting fresh.pure 'cream in my coffee" as you had said it.eh?
Getting a little warm there GivenToe? I bet the boys really had to concentrate of their instruments. Although it was a lipsync. And to think the minidresses had a split on the side! There was also a long version of the dress.
This song is an intention retread of Waterloo. Deliberate attempt to recatch the same spark and in my humble opinion rather successful. They changed enough to make it not obvious. Replacing the up and front guitar from strum to a riff, removing the saxophone and inserting a trumpet, changing the narrative from love victim to love antagonist……it’s the same formula but different ingredients. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever. Songs have structure, songs have architecture, there are literal RECIPES for songwriting and if left unchecked the songs can become very repetitive. The boys were keenly aware of that and my hat is off to them for always changing things up.
This is just legs! exactly what you se at the beach! There is more singers nowadays just wearing kind of straps over the body an no clothes at all. We went to school and everywhere in the - 80 ies with the underpants in sight, so what!!!😊😊
Hej giventoe. Agera snabbt.

Hello, so happy to see You return with more ABBA songs in our ABBA Journey
"So long" (1974)
has many interesting things to analyze
its rhythm is in the similar glam rock style of "Waterloo", it was recorded in 1974, months after ABBA's triumph at Eurovision
And since the reissue of “Ring Ring” after “Waterloo” barely made it into the UK Top 40, ABBA's search for a second hit to reinforce “Waterloo” focused on “So long” precisely because of its rhythm and style in the vein of "Waterloo"
But it didn't even make it onto the UK charts, only #91 believe
The following year ABBA would try "I do I do I do I do I do" another Top 40, until finally it was "S.O.S." that broke the ‘only one hit’ curse to #6 in the UK and #15 in the US, and from then on ABBA was the hit-after-hit machine.
"So long" I think is more aggressive than "Waterloo", and at the same time more fun (but don't have the magic of "Waterloo")
Agnetha and Frida do one of their most memorable choreographies
(Frida is a fantastic dancer)
And the live performance on the 1977 Australia Tour is spectacular, is the last song (before the encores)
"So long" is a very good song that unfortunately did not have commercial success
But ABBA always included it in their first TV specials until 1976 included.
These is from a TV Special
"Made in Sweden for Export" (1976)
ABBA was one of the groups or artist, performing three songs from their self-titled album 'ABBA':

"I've been waiting for you"
a beautiful ballad folk pop
there's a beautiful TV perfomance in Musikladen, Germany (1976)

actually the ABBA album of the same name ends here in its original edition
The other two tracks you are referring to are bonus tracks.
1) "Crazy world" (which was later the B-side of the single "Money money money" from the following album "Arrival")

(I guess the guys are good-looking too.)
Frida (Anna-Frid) has an interesting life story, too. (NOT a Lebensborn baby, but … oh, just read.)
I remember it first time round and it was pure glam rock . It was brilliant back then
This is my all time favourite ABBA track. Thanks for reacting to this banger of a song. 🎵🎶🎵🇸🇪😍
Well thank you for watching! 😁😁
Yep great song, upbeat and awesome ❤️❤️🤩🤩
It's a great song. As a Frida Fanboy, I say that the short skirt she is wearing could almost turn me......😉
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You think you're gonna make me softer with your fancy car
But I can tell you all your tricks ain't gonna get you far
They say that money's got a magic touch
But not to me, it doesn't mean that much
You won't have me tonight
All right, all right, all right, all right
So long, see you honey
You can't buy me with your money
Tracy, Daisy, they may be crazy
But I'll never be your girl
So long, see you honey
You can't buy me with your money
You know it's not worth trying
So long, so long, so long
You didn't have to send me flowers like you did today
I wouldn't keep a thing from you, I gave them all away
The girls might fall for everything you've got
But I'm not one of them, you know I'm not
You won't have me tonight
All right, all right, all right, all right
So long, see you honey...........
Such a tough girl!But so justified!lol!
Very happy song, I love it! They won't dissapoint you in the further songs, I assure you!
I believe you my brother! 😍
Bra drag indeed! Jag har inte lyssnat på A+ mer än ”Where do we fo from here?” 🤷🏼♂️😅
This song is fantastic. You’d have to be brain dead to not like it. I’ve heard this thousands of times and never get tired of it.
I found a picture of my mum in a tiny mini skirt in the 1960s. She hid it. Lol
😅😅😅
Giventoe, you are very funny 😂. Another great reaction. From when I loved their first Album Ring Ringwhich got me hooked, they wen from strength to strength. In my eyes this 'ABBA' album was better than Waterloo at the time but extremely hard to seperate them now - got older ! 👌
So Long should have been a big hit for ABBA
Yeah I totally agree on that one!
Riktigt bra ju! 😁
Thank you 🙏🏻🤣
There wasn't much censorship surrounding sex on TV in Europe back in the 70's.
There was lots of nudity in film and TV.
I'm 71 and loved them from the 1970's
And if you take a closer look at the lyrics, you'll realize in this early rock'n'roll song they're singing the exact opposite of "Money Money Money"
Very true !
Love it! 😂 thx!
Thank YOU! 🙏🏻😂
Jag älskar So Long.
😁😁
Great reaction as always (and long overdue). Please move straight on to the next album 'Arrival' as you only have bonus tracks left on the current one. So Long was definitely an energetic album closer!!
He wants to do ALL ABBA songs and Crazy World and the Medley belong to them, so he should do them, too. He also did the bonus songs (except the Swedish ones) of the first two albums.
Thank you! I still have the bonus tracks left ;) But after that, defenately! :D
Iconic cat outfits 😍😍❤❤
Frida was always more energetic on stage. The little dance at the end is so cool.
Yeah this was a lot better than many of todays so called "music videos". I agree! =)
Amy Grant---i will remember you--Classic Amy
I'm having a seizure! I don't know if it's the strobe lights or Frida's legs.... :) Seriously enjoyed this reaction!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Getting a little warm there GivenToe? I bet the boys really had to concentrate of their instruments. Although it was a lipsync. And to think the minidresses had a split on the side! There was also a long version of the dress.
Yeah 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Short song, short skirts, lovely legs, amazing song 💕
Frida 🔥❤️
We went to school and everywhere in the - 80 ies with the underpants in sight, so what!!!😊😊
Frida was known for her firm and fit body and absolutely gorgeous legs. Those legs are not average. Their perfect!
S M O K I N G 🥵 🔥
well my now husband made me crazy with this song. He did buy with no money but his physical skills. and he wanted me "tonight"
Short shirts need to come back! 🤣
😅😅🤣🤣🤣
Cue up MC Hammer's You Can't Touch This!....I kid, great song about women that can't be bought by an old flame or new acquaintance....
let there be legs and there was legs.
Frida is scorching
Frida is hot
Hej giventoe.
They were not prudes in the 70s
Oh David. The 70 th are Not your time.
😂😜
