Genuinely sad this show was not only canceled early, but was sidelined in television history. I never even heard of it until recently, and most young black people today have no idea. We've really missed out!
FOX was unable to keep him for its revival of The Late Show after his short run on the beleaguered late-night talk show boosted its ratings. He was set to film Coming to America and FOX had to move forward with the ill-fated Wilton North Report due to it being deep in the pipeline. Despite FOX being unable to keep him on board due to those reasons, his own talk show station list featured tons of FOX affiliates including 2 different stations affiliated with the network in my DMA/TV market during his original show's run.
