Well the top pin is your zero range, and the middle is 20 meters further than your zero, and the bottom is 40 further than your zero range so top is generally the way to go for most people
@@Crawdaddyjr5352 I usually use them as the Zero Ranges... short is the bottom dot, mid is middle and far zeroing is the top. It seems to work fine for me.
I've never had any of those problems with the crossbow. I practiced with it extensively on PF and never had any issues with missing. It's so accurate that most animals I shoot with it just drop on the spot.
its just not that great, needs a fixed power scope with a finer (smaller) reticle. also the sound has an arcadey twang as opposed to the more realistic snap of a bow string (once again classic; made in 2009 does something better than cotw)

Hey dd when you missed the buck at 50 yrds your wind was blowing to the right so there fore the arrow will go to the right I figured that out while hunting 2 yrs ago myself that the wind actually messes with the arrows on the game. Always have the crossbow zeros for the second number and use the first pin for up close

DD yes it has happened to me a buck ducked my arrow from the cross bow and hit him right in the spine luckily I had it on the bottom of the heart so yes they can duck the shot it’s actually the buck in my picture

Great video. I'm a little disappointed because yesterday I shot a diamond scoring piebald red deer but somehow the shot missed lungs and hit vertebrae so it was only a gold.

@THEHUNTERDD33 In the nano-second before you fire, the middle dot is just below the buck. Look super closely at the 5:14 mark and you can ACTUALLY SEE THE ARROW launch from the middle dot and skim just underneath the buck. The faint plume of dust that kicks up behind the buck when the arrow hits the ground also indicates that the arrow traveled in line with where you were aiming the middle dot. I love videos, mate. My sons and I enjoy watching them together. Keep up the fantastic work!
Hi DD33. Love your videos. It's like riding shotgun with you. Hey, I noticed something in this vid, with a brief scan of the comments and even a Ctrl-F search, that no one brought attention to the bow's recoil at 5:11-12. Thanks to the slo-mo you added, it appears that the arrow launched at the bottom of the recoil drop instead of preceding the recoil, sending the bolt skimming the buck's belly. If you hold your cursor at the top dot as a guide, the point in the recoil drop where the bolt actually fires is clearly evident in my opinion. I would love to hear comments on this thought? Am I seeing this correctly or imagining this? Thanks for the video DD33. PS: The firing of the bolt appears to be glitched or hate to say, could it be a frame rate issue since you are recording?
It does almost seem like the arrow loosing isn't time right every time. I wonder if it's lag related on MP vs SP. I might do some testing on this as it's the kind of dorky stuff I like =P
In the beginning it was my weapon of choice until I acquired the 7mm. I couldn’t access the 600g arrows for the bear claw but had access to all the arrows for the crossbow. 🤘Plus it came with a scope🤘 It was the only weapon I could use to gain the bigger money (Elk and moose)😉🏹❤️

In real life a deer can duck an arrow from a 300fps compound bow with no problem and can duck an arrow going 400fps from a crossbow at 40yards with ease. I'm speaking from personal experience but you can look it up for yourself and see how fast a deer can duck an arrow.
I stop with the crossbow cus the compound ones are so much better I take so much better shots with them and hit them the crossbow is my last favorite thing in the game love the videos have a good day

in my experience, middle pin works best for short range
So you zero in for 10 with the top pin and use the middle? That would mean the middle pin is 20

I only use the crossbow on Buffalo and bison. Started using the 60# compound bow and am making way more shots.
I've had problems while being prone and trying to shoot an animal. I thing it's the grounds hit box.
