In 1886, Romanians from the Austro-Hungarian Empire were not allowed to play Romanian songs or from Romanian folklore at balls or gatherings, because they were considered acts of rebellion against the order. Such songs were listened to in Transylvanian stables only at weddings, carefully and only in restricted communities, where there were still people, Szeklers or Hungarians, who were part of the community. For the defense of cultural rights, many people of culture did years of hard prison. For such a reason we should value these perennial Romanian values.
O capodoperă complexă: ca gândire/concepție de viață, ca text, ca muzică, ca interpretare. De fapt, totul - și gândul, și versul, și melodia - totul, zic, e pus în valoare de interpretarea lui Leșe. Ascultându-l în piese ca aceasta, îmi zic că nu Leșe cântă, ci Muzica însăși cântă prin Leșe. Să trăiești, Grigore, frate al meu de suflet!
