Yes sir! This knot has been the best connection knot for me. No slip! braid/fluoro. I'm the worst at tying connections knots and this is the only one that works for me. Great vid!
I will run my tag end through the loop an extra 2 times and finish it with 2 more overhand knots just to allow for any slippage. I’ve never had an Albright knot fail on me and much easier than tying an FG knot. Thanks for the information

Nicholas Treadaway that’s why the MA is the way to go, imagine yourself on a boat on bank and the wind is blowing like crazy but it’s a hot bite and you need a leader tied on. This is why I switched to this knot, it’s strong, goes through the eyes easy and is a cinch to tie

To anybody reading this comment knots are going to fail. There’s many reasons for that, one they could be tied wrong, two overtime a knot goes through the eyes of the fishing rod it will wear and fail. 3, some knots work better with different fishing lines, use whatever knot you feel comfortable with, but this particular knot has been tried and true for me with minimal fails.
William Munny I would say they are all very close when it comes to strength however it is all in how the knot is tied. If there is a lot of friction with little lubrication all knots will fail at some point. Thanks for watching.

Dennis QQ knots need lots of lube so that the line doesn’t heat up during the cinching presses. I’ve experienced this a couple times when I’ve been in a hurry but for the most part this has been my go too knot for line to line applications. Thanks for watching and good luck.
@@FishingPOV ill give it a try again, but this time I`ll put some drops of glue at the ends.. would you recommend using a round eye rolling swivel to connect them? or that can affect the casting distance?
Dennis QQ a swivels don’t travel through the guides very well and even if you use glue take your time cinching the knot friction is the number one cause of knots failing.
@Dennis QQ not sure what went wrong for you, but the Albright was probably the number one knot for tying mono to a heavy leader for the last 60 years. It’s a proven knot. Braid became the problem with most of the Famous knots. They need improvements to hold well. But don’t give up on this one, it works just like it has for 60 years (invention of mono).
This knot sucks. A 6 wrap over under works much better and is stronger. I just tested both and this broke so easily. Ten inches of line overlapped then looped 6 times will not slip and does not break. I have been fishing with Power Pro since it came out and have never had a break off at the leader with the 6 wrap. Also, snell your hooks and catch more fish. I light tackle fish so maybe this knot works on giant fish but I wouldn't use it on Snook.

The 65 year old original Albright only started looping from the back towards the front loop of the leader. So this version, that wraps backwards, and then wraps x-cross forward is indeed an “improved” Albright. Although with braid I would use 8 wraps each direction. Nice job on the video. There’s no need for a 15 minute long knot video and UA-cam is full of them. So, thanks. Well done.

Ever thought of using KY GEL as a lubricant?
I believe that would make the knot slip also it could break down the line quicker.
@@FishingPOV lts a water based lubricant and does not harm Condoms. If the right knot is tied correctly it will not slip.

I’ve just done this with 40lb braid 0.24mm to a 70lb leader 0.75mm. Seems to be a pretty strong knot to me! Find out tomorrow! 👍

tried this knot on a 12lb mono mainline and 30lb shock leader.. snapped right off after 3rd cast...

Its a standard Albright, Nothing modified about it.
