My question to you is :
1. Is ROCE not a better measure of returns for a company since it also includes debt?
Taking the example you gave earlier ,
if on Equity capital of 1 lakh ,
& debt of 9 lakh ( Total capital 10 lakh )
company makes 30,000 profits , then
ROE 30 %
ROCE 3% ?
in this case, not making effective use of debt is telling that the company is not making good capital allocation. is it not?

To answer why prices are set to 399, 499, 999 and not 400, 500, 1000 it's because it creates a price illusion in the mind of the consumer where his mind will subconsciously perceive a 999 Rs product as cheaper compared to a 1000 rs product. This is a marketing strategy used by most companies. An MBA university professor told me this during my college days.

Annual return 20% means 20lakh-2cr
Now i will spend 20% of the profit i earned ie
4lakh-40 lakh.
After 10cr+ portfolio
Annual return 20% =2cr+
Now i will spend 30% of my annual retun that is 60lakh+.
Incase kisi saal m negative return ayga toh m pse khrch nhi krunga.
