Can't believe how quiet that engine is. The wing is beautiful too. A worthy competitor for the A220 / Bombardier C Series.

Yeah, it's a shame airlines in Canada wouldn't back up their own homegrown jet when the A220 actually was the C-Series. Great sense of civic pride boys!

As of yesterday Porter has revealed plans to operate to Los Angeles and Las Vegas in the next few months with San Francisco, Orlando, and Ft. Lauderdale following later in the year. Hopefully they add Toronto-St. John's soon so I can try a trip LAX-YYT to see friends and family. Great review!
I know! My plan now is to be on their FLL inaugural!
If they could do YYZ-YQM (Moncton) they could very well compete with Air Canada Rouge and WestJet, their product seems very promising!

Amazing how fast your Porter E195 E2 video was created and posted! I think you were first to post the Pre COVID inaugural of the Air Canada A220 from YUL-YYC too! Don't know how Porter will keep up with all those inflight service glasses to wash... they should probably just gift them to the passengers to take home as a souvenir of their flight!

In Brazil, there is still no free wi-fi, but all Embraer jets of Azul Airlines have live TV in each seat, with many channels.

I believe Porter will enjoy a warm reception on every lane it flies. I hope they don’t abandon their Billy Bishop operation. The Dash 8’s are super for Regional destinations. The E2 will expand to the West in Canada and US. Don’t be surprised if stick their toe in the Caribbean.
The only issue I can see with the 195 E2 is its limited range.
@@rscott2247 I am certain Porter has researched and discussed that fact with Embraer. It won’t be doing Hawaii runs.

@Capture King yeah, my father, who lives in Connecticut, loves them. We've done multiple BOS-YTZ roundtrips. I personally hate Dash-8s but I like being able to fly into downtown TO.

Really nice terminal and the plane is great except for the lack of engine noise, I love to hear that nice spooling up sound. I am really impressed. Thanks for the review and the trip. Makes me want to book a flight just so I can give them a try.
To this day, in my humble opinion, nothing sounds better than a GE90 on a takeoff roll, which is why the 777-300ER remains one of my favorite airliners.
I agree with you, only other engine I think surpasses this one is the RR on the 757 and 747!

In 2 months I will be taking a 3 hr 45 min flight with Porter - my first time flying with them. And I chose Reserve, because the price difference was so small! I have seen lots of videos now of Porter planes and I am excited for my flight!

Good to see more flying options here in Canada. Competition helps keep fares lower and service better. I'm sure Air Canada and West jet are taking note.
Nice trip report and fitting that Porter's inaugural E95 flight is YYZ-YOW as PD's first ever flight was YTZ-YOW in 2006. 33 minutes is quick as YYZ-YOW usually clocks in closer to 40, landed on 07. Having flown that route many times, landing on 07 is practically a straight shot from YYZ and not getting the back half of the cabin serviced is pretty normal on this route. The extra 5-7 minutes on the Dash from YTZ with just 60% of the seats makes a huge difference in terms of completing cabin service.
Oh yeah, my guess is going forward, Porter will have to sacrifice some aspects of its service, and offer an “express” option in order to better serve the entire cabin
@@ITripReport on the Dash 8s on YOW-YTZ, I've experienced it many times where they quickly go through the cabin with snacks first, that way if not everyone gets a beverage, at least everyone got a snack.

I just booked a return trip with Porter from Vancouver to Halifax via Toronto. It will be interesting to see what it is like on a longer flight. I am looking forward to it! While I didn't book Reserve, I did book the Stretch seats for 34" of pitch on the YVR-YYZ segment as I like some extra room on flights of more than 2 or 3 hours. Thanks for your great trip report, as always!

Thanks for the great review. Porter's evolution is indeed looking impressive, they’ve certainly selected the best aircraft type for their entry to jet services.
I hope you had a chance to fly from Billy Bishop airport with them also (Q400 only) located on an island in downtown Toronto.
The E2 would have to be the smartest and most comfortable regional jet.
I’ve always enjoyed flying on E-195s with Arkia.
I love the play on words for the name of their inflight magazine.

Was on the YUL flight just after yours and will be doing the YVR inaugural on Tuesday to see how a long haul flight with them goes. PD needs to improve their drinks service. On my four flights that day (I did YOW later in the afternoon), they barely got to row 20 before the flights began their decent into the destination airport. Used a single trolley. Really need to have two, starting from both the front and mid-cabin. My only complaint.
Yup Porter Airlines New Embraer E195-E2 Jets will continue to expand into Destinations through Toronto Canada leading into The USA & The Caribbean Destinations where I'm from Barbados my home Country I hope too see there Jets fly there soon so I can book with them to Toronto Canada again whenever I Travel Awesome Video!!!!
