Have you tried to center the ottoman to the side that y’all sit and watch tv on? Might not have to adjust if it’s turned that way when snuggling….dunno 😊
Thanks for the nice shout out for Patrick Furniture Renee. I am so happy that you love your new LaZboy sectional! It looks absolutely gorgeous in your room! It was such a pleasure helping you put it together.
❤ just a quick tip anytime my dog comes in after going potty. I always wipe down all four of his paws with a towel. I have that towel ready right by the door and he lets me wipe his paws down before he comes in the house so he doesn’t track in any wet dirty paws it’s something I’ve been doing since he was a puppy and helps keep my furniture clean when I wipe his paws down. It’s very helpful tip. I hope you have a blessed day Renee love your couch and I love your dogs. Miss you guys.❤ so glad you’re back! Yay!😊
That sounds like a wonderful tip! Wish I had started that myself. Both dogs squeeze through the door at FULL SPEED and it's very hard to stop them. I'm going to give it a try! Thanks!
I hated mine. It was cold to sit on, not comfortable for naps, I hated it the first week, got a beautiful fabric couch 2 years later, we love it, warm to sit on and comfortable. So we understand how you and Randy feel.
I love the ottoman. Coffee table and sectional I would gift to Dad. He is so deserving. Has been a rough year for everyone and especially him. I can vision the couch, being a ray of sunshine for him. May consider getting one of the dirt trapper rugs. No more dirty, gritty or wet paws. That seem like it would resolve several issues for you. Cannot wait to hear how much your dad loved receiving his couch. Us older folks prefer leather I think. I prefer leather couch and leather car seats. Much easier for me to clean up my spills.
I suggest a square coffee table to fit in with your beautiful, new sectional. Or…purchase another ottoman and put them side by side to form a square. It’s so pretty!
I love leather furniture. Mine is very comfy and not slippery. Maybe the kind of leather? But the new one is absolutely beautiful and suits your style perfectly. As for the dogs, I could never say no. And Maxie’s little look of love when he got up there with you. How could you resist. Lol
I like the ottoman as a coffee table. That’s what I use. One of my dogs naps on it so I put a washable throw rug on top of it. There is also a tray for remotes, reading glasses etc. If you don’t care for the ottoman I’d suggest a round coffee table. My son has leather furniture and I don’t like sitting on it. I usually sit on his floor!
Scotchguard will be your best friend. It has saved many a piece in my home. Also a round coffee table or the ottoman looks good. You have a lot of squares going on in the space and a round table would break it up and you can move around it without banging your shin
Went thru the exact same experience. Huge, beautiful leather couch. After two years, I kept telling my husband "I can not get comfortable!" He was not happy (he can sit on anything). Gave it to our neighbor, who loved it (initially, LOL). They came to hate it too. They gave it to their nephew. So it's become the traveling couch. Ha Ha. I was glad to be rid of it. My dogs hated it. Our new couch came with a large ottoman too. We put one of those really pretty breakfast trays on it. So it serves as an ottoman and a table. We love it. The tray has sides - it can hold the remote, magazines, coffee cups, or whatever. It's a much better arrangement. Your new couch looks great!
We’ve owned custom leather sofa’s twice in our lives, they did take a few years to get soft and cozy. I liked them. Currently our living room furniture is from Lazy-boy, it’s 7 years old and holding up fantastic. What a bonus that you can fit a coffee table + rolling ottoman! Have a wonderful week Renee!
It might look good, but I don't think it's practical. You wouldn't want to put dishes or food on the fabric ottoman. I think she needs a coffee table that she could wipe off. In other words, the ottoman would get dirty.
Renee I just went into a La-Z-Boy store and loved what they had. I ordered a new recliner for myself with all the whistles and bells. A new sofa is next.😊 I love the way your new set up looks and I'm happy for you. You got to live in your house comfortably 😊
I totally understand, I used to have a leather couch in my living room and it was slippery, cold, and just so uncomfortable. I hated that sliding around on it every time I sat down, so like you I couldn’t wait to get rid of it and get an upholstered sectional. That one is so pretty in your living room, enjoy!
Hi Renee - Love your new sofa ❤ try turning your coffee table or ottoman in the other direction (horizontal to the TV wall). Someone suggested I do that in my house and it worked!
I love how this sofa looks in your living room. La-Z-Boy is a quality product (I have a sofa in my LR) and will last years. I do like how the ottoman looks in front of the sofa. It's perfect.
You had me laughing trying not to disturb my husband trying to sleep...everyt time you sat down and "I'm sliding, I'm sliding..." You have such a great personality and describe things in such a lighthearted funny way!
I love the look of leather but hate sitting on it. It's either too cold and slippery or I stick to it...hate that. I love your new sofa-sectional. The color is so versatile and I think we all knew the answer to whether the pups were going to sit on it...Lol! I do like the look of the sofas that have a leather arm but a cloth/fabric cushion and back. I love the scent of leather too but it's just too slippery. I can't wait to see all the adjustments you decide to make!
Wow! I need that exact sofa in my new home. I have very similar living room without the fireplace🙁. I want a fireplace with the TV mounted above also! Beautiful room.
Oh my gosh! This was so exciting to watch😊It is always so nice to get something new, it just refreshes the whole space and this one lightens/brightens the room a bit. I do like the throw pillows on the couch just the way they are. Beth
My Lazy Boy sofa and love seat are 27 yrs old and still look good, I almost bought a new leather sectional this year but my daughter talked me out of it ( she’s your age) because of all the reasons mentioned in this video.
Love your new sofa! I know you and Randy will be much more comfortable now! I have a buttery soft Italian leather sofa that's very comfortable and that I'll never get rid of it ... but hard leather is something else altogether.
Couch looks great. As always you are a fantastic decorator! One recommendation for ya, if you're going to replace the coffee table, perhaps consider a round table so there will be no pointy harsh corners. The couch is already square, square rug so this may help to soften things a bit!
I once had a leather couch back in 1990. I hated it too. Got rid of it within a year. I love my linen fabric couch and two different chairs. I actually hate sectional couches. They are big and cumbersome to move when you need to clean underneath them. I don't like my guest all sitting in one straight line on the sectional. Very hard to look at each other in a line, but that is my liking.
I unzipped my cushions and pulled out the batting and rearranged it …it helped so much… I was so relieved because it’s a perfect couch for the space otherwise . Nice you got a new one !
Love the new couch. I'm a fabric girl for sure! Leather is cold and uncomfortable. I agree with some others who said you could try a square coffee table as well. I feel like i would just knock stuff off the ottoman and stuff will need moved anytime Randy wants to use it.
I LOVE the pattern of the new couch fabric! And I love that the ottoman has wheels!! I have wheels under my dining room buffet, I can move it to clean behind it...
This video was so fun! Love your new ottoman, and hands down the ottoman as the sofa table. The ottoman looks good & is functional for that space. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Just a tip... With the ottoman I would attach a small rope or strap to the inside that I can pull out to move it around with instead of pulling on the corner of the fabric.
Now that's a sofa you can take a Judy on! I was so surprised when the living room got the gorgeous renovation and the (old) sofa stayed. Thought maybe you'd changed your mind about liking it ...😮
No way! I took a screen shot of this exact couch earlier today, to put in our next house! I like leather for easy cleaning and shedding dogs, but my husband is over it. We’re also making the (future) ottoman our coffee table. We will also need it for a third guest bed if necessary. Gotta go multipurpose when you’re downsizing, right? 😊
Amazon has dog bed with a skirt like area for the dogs to lay on for sofas and stuffed chairs. Not the prettiest but my daughter’s dogs love them. My son had to get a big square coffee table and that worked well with his sectional couch.
Love the new sectional! We too got rid of our leather for the very same reasons. Never again. As far as the coffee table/ottoman - try out living with them each for several days and go for functionality. 😊
So nice! I like the idea of a round coffee table as it is easier to get around and no sharp corners in case you bump into it. Costco sells a beautiful "dog blanket" they have several colors and it has a waterproof liner on the bottom with a nice fur like top. We have four dogs and a new couch as well and they know they can only get on the couch if their blanket is on the couch.
I love the new sectional! I remember you not liking the leather one from the time you got it. Such a shame. That’s what makes me nervous to get new (expensive) things! I do love La-Z-Boy. They are expensive but well made. We have 2 recliners in our family room. A smaller one for me, as I’m 5’2” just like you, and my husband is 6’2”. And he has a larger one. We just got the same fabric on both.
Love that textured fabric. I've always had this type of couches..textured fabrics and firm cushions. Seems you might need a new coffee table now too! Lol.
The sofa is beautiful. Looks much better. I would straighten out the pillows and make them look neater they are crushed on top.I myself like to have my own room look sharp and neat.
Hi Renee, good to see you back and looking happy and healthy! Congratulations of course to the newly wed's! Love the couch, but I love grey and tweed. Great to see the boys, one jump and Max is on the new couch 😄 I'd still keep the coffee table! 🐾💖
I’m loving your new sofa!!! It’s so classy. And I’m a dog on the couch kinda gal 😊. Our Yorkie, Woody would be up on the back of the sofa and looking out the back!!!
I love Lazy Boy. Just bought two recliners from them last fall. We did get leather because of the dog. You have me rethinking replacing the couch with leather. Will have to really think about it. I love your new sofa and it really looks great in that room. It is a lighter, softer color. The leather was so dark. You made the right choice. And yes, the dogs will end up on the couch. Sometimes you can't teach an old dog new tricks.
Great to see Pollux and Maxxie ❤❤ most important things first...a dig and loving the mud 😂 I got rid of my leather couch many years back...upholstery is far more usable... I hope you enjoy it for many years to come 🥰 xxx😅
Great video! I’ve been thinking that my next sofa will be leather but not any more. That slippery factor would drive me crazy. Thank you so much for sharing!
Hurray Renee, so fastastic you got a new fabric sofa. It's no fun sliding off leather and or sticking to it. Now you have a softer and comfortable sofa everone can enjoy. The color and texture is pretty and fits the room well. The sunrise will be so lovely with your morning coffee. Muey gave his four paw approval so it's official now! You and Randy enjoy watching tv all snuggled together while the rest of us have a big smile on our face because we're so happy for you both.❤😊 Oh and yes really like the ottaman as a table. Would you then just use a long rectangular tray or such on top of the cushion to hold your drinks and whatever?😮😂
Beautiful sofa. It’s better that there isn’t a curve. My old sofa was never comfortable in the curve area. I also use an ottoman with a tray and like it. Enjoy!
Hi, Renee! The new sectional looks great. I do think you should switch out the pillows. I know you like the neutral monochrome look but IMO the room could use a little pop of color. You can probably find some nice, reasonably priced throw pillows at HomeGoods or Big Lots.
I have leather furniture because I have huskies, and they SHED! Leather wipes right off. Most leather now is bonded (coated) and that can make it slippery. Natural leather isn't usually slippery.
I really like the ottoman in front of the sectional. I have the couch, chair, ottoman and recliner in my living room and I love it. To be totally honest my little dog gets on my couch but it’s fine with me because that’s what she is use to doing. I just put her a throw down and she knows that’s her spot. But it’s ok with us because it’s her home too and I don’t want to fight that battle. Lol. Thanks for sharing! Love it! Looks great 👍
Love it! We, too, have the leather Lazy Boy and I have hated it forever! I never sit on it. We talked about a new one, but haven’t decided what to do yet. Yours looks great!
Hey Renee, the couch is beautiful! I’m loving the ottoman in front of the couch!! You might get your self a large serving tray to put on it, that will make a usable coffee table! ☕️🪴
Haha! Great! I laughed out loud! Yes get rid of that thing! Love the new one!!❤I think the whole sofa should be moved a foot & half closer to the tv wall to allow more clearance of the sliding door. Plus it would allow more room for the lamp and more centered under your pretty 2 mirrors.
Looking good: love Lazy Boy furniture and I hope you enjoy your new sofa. I too, love the ottoman, especially the hidden storage. Hope you sell your old coach and make a little $ or be like me, see if family needs it first.😊
I love, love, love that new sectional Renee, it looks wonderful in your living room, and I bet it’s so much more comfortable than the leather one. I used to have a leather sectional as well but I just got so sick of slipping and sliding on it, I got rid of it as well and bought a fabric one which I loved. I’ve moved so many times though, also across the country, and it didn’t always fit into my schemes. Now that I’m older and I don’t have a partner I now have a couple of recliners. I bought myself a stand alone fabric Chaise which is super comfy but is so hard to get out of. I’m considering whether I should give it to a friend who loves it and buying a three seater lounge with two recliners so I can have my fur babies sitting on the middle section with me. Decisions, decisions lol. I’ll get there eventually but I have time to think about it. Love Pollux and Maxie and have been a follower since the beginning of your channel and it’s always on my list to watch any new videos you put out. Lots of love to you all from Shelley in Australia. 👏👍🥰
I agree, leather is just not comfortable unless you're sitting in the reclining part. My husband has a leather sectional in basement family room and I hate sitting on it. It's hard, cold and can't get comfy. The only part that is used is the recliner part. Thankfully, I watch tv upstairs in my own comfy chair. Pillows that come with furniture are usually not particularly attractive. You might add some with some color. And the ottoman looks great as coffee table, maybe add a larger rectangular tray for drinks and decor. I know what it's like to spend thousands on furniture and then not like it and have to bite the bullet and just get rid of it.
Hi Renee, I’m looking for a fabric couch as well. My leather is not comfortable. I’m going for a comfort, relaxing, functional sofa that is still pleasing to the eyes. Love your choice. 🧡
I laughed a lot watching you slip sliding away on your leather sofa Renee 😂 We also just bought a new sofa and love seat and like you, I bought one very similar in colour and style to the one we already have. The paint colour, window blinds, lamps etc were all chosen bc of the existing sofa colour so I certainly didn’t want to start changing everything all over again. Now we need to wait 8-12 weeks for it to be delivered and here’s hoping it only takes 8 weeks🤞 Your new room looks beautiful and oh so cozy Renee. Enjoy!
Renee, I love the new couch and ottoman!!! Wow, I have ALWAYS been a coffee table person BUT you’ve changed my mind! Ohhh my poor husband when he gets home! 😂 enjoy your new set it is beautiful!!
Wow, Renee, your house is beautiful! Your new couch looks great! I never wanted a sectional until I moved into my house ten years ago and realized that this room needs one! I’m going to look at your link. My house is very small, so I love that you can customize it.
Thank you so much! With this particular sectional, you can customize the size and shape. It's great! Absolutely check out. I have the links in the description box for you :). And it arrived in 8 weeks so pretty fast!
I felt the same way about my leather couch! And although I kept my dog's nails trimmed he made "scratch marks" on it that drove me crazy. Much happier with my fabric (a Lazy Boy too) couch - you will love it too! (altho you will be using your chom chom roller as I have to do regularly, but that's the price we pay for comfort!)
Renée, Maybe place there beds or a new one like one of those orthopedic dog beds for Maxi, with two thick blankies on it for them to do there scratching and tucking then there circles so they can cozy in for a long nap! Just a suggestion. Or place there blankies where they are allowed to cozy up to you and Randy? Habbits are built up strong and tall like bricks laid together to build a strong wall. Once they are built its so hard to break them so ve careful how you build them! Puppers have habits that are built. Very nice purchase!
It looks so awesome Renee. I’m sure you’ll love it so much better. And the pups 🐶 too! ❤ My much awaited new sofa is being delivered in about a month -I’m ready 😅 been on mine for 14 years. It’s time! 😂
Love your new furniture ! The color is just perfect too. Makes the brick fireplace pop ! 😍👍 Looks so cozy in there . What about a round coffee table ? Who else knows the boys will have their spot very soon 😂🙋♀️🐕🐶. Hard to say no to those cuties. 🫣😮💨🤭
I love the idea of a round coffee table! I like to ottoman, but (for me) it would be a hassle to keep the plant on it; I'd have to move it every time I wanted to put my feet up on the ottoman. That would be too much of a hassle.
Nice couch, nice to see it works for you. Hopefully you don’t experience any issues with this couch. Personally we haven’t had any support from LazyBoy.
You had me at ottoman. The storage is just a bonus! Re dogs, sofa cover for sure. LOVE Lay-z-boy! Also this was so educational re leather sofas. I would have same problem with sliding. I believe I have ottoman envy. And, I kinda liked ottoman against wall as extra seating if needed. Plus can’t put a drink on ottoman but can on coffee table.
I love your hair in a headband Renee. Looks so so cute!! Love the new sectional as well ❤I don’t think I would like a leather couch either. I love the gray color as well.
I like the original coffee table. Maybe flip it so the long side is in front of where you sit while watching tv and put the ottoman up against the area where you sit with your morning coffee or to the side as a low end table until needed.
Love the new couch Renee. It goes really well with your rug. I also used to have a leather couch, and even though it was pretty,i didn't like sitting on it.
Do you prefer the coffee table or ottoman in front of the couch? Help me design the room 😊
Ottoman!
Definitely the ottoman!
Have you tried to center the ottoman to the side that y’all sit and watch tv on? Might not have to adjust if it’s turned that way when snuggling….dunno 😊
Ottoman 💯%!
Ottoman ,u can put a tray on top for decor, just fyi
Thanks for the nice shout out for Patrick Furniture Renee. I am so happy that you love your new LaZboy sectional! It looks absolutely gorgeous in your room! It was such a pleasure helping you put it together.
Hi Janiree!!! You are so sweet and always super helpful! Love Patrick Furniture 💕
Let them on the couch Renee don’t fight it Maxie is old and it is hard to change because there always been up there before ♥️❤️🧸
❤ just a quick tip anytime my dog comes in after going potty.
Thanks!
My husky is 13, he gets his paws wiped everytime he comes in, too. Helps keep floors and carpets much cleaner 😊
Do not know your situation but they have sound bars with subwoofer built in.
I do the exact same thing 12+ years now. Saves the floors & furniture. Takes just a few extra seconds. 😉🐾
I do the same with a small towel at both front and back doors ...
I hated mine. It was cold to sit on, not comfortable for naps, I hated it the first week, got a beautiful fabric couch 2 years later, we love it, warm to sit on and comfortable. So we understand how you and Randy feel.
Yep--cold is another reason not to like leather furniture.0
I love the ottoman. Coffee table and sectional I would gift to Dad. He is so deserving. Has been a rough year for everyone and especially him. I can vision the couch, being a ray of sunshine for him. I suggest a square coffee table to fit in with your beautiful, new sectional. Or…purchase another ottoman and put them side by side to form a square. It’s so pretty!

I thought Scotchguard was banned due to hazardous chemicals?
@@visitingfromsantafe1329 that I don’t know. It’s been awhile since I used it.
Went thru the exact same experience. Huge, beautiful leather couch. After two years, I kept telling my husband "I can not get comfortable!" He was not happy (he can sit on anything). Your new couch looks great! Sometimes we hate to make changes and then when they are done, we are so relieved and wondered why we waited. :)
I am so relieved to have the new couch! It's super comfy and feels much better than leather.

I love the new couch and I don’t blame you for replacement! Scratches for puppers 🐶🐶
Good choice on replacing the coffee table with the ottoman- much more servicable and attractive. Your room looks beautiful and comfortable!
It might look good, but I don't think it's practical. You wouldn't want to put dishes or food on the fabric ottoman. I think she needs a coffee table that she could wipe off. In other words, the ottoman would get dirty.
I always thought your old living room set was NICE. Who knew you were sliding??🤣🤣 Luv the new set!! Thanks for sharing!
Renee I just went into a La-Z-Boy store and loved what they had. I ordered a new recliner for myself with all the whistles and bells. A new sofa is next.😊 I love the way your new set up looks and I'm happy for you. You got to live in your house comfortably 😊

Exactly!! I'm loving our new sofa.....it's so comfy!
Definitely agree , ottoman should be new coffee table! Old coffee table is really off, somehow! Sofa looks amazing! Enjoy! 👍🏻
I'm liking the ottoman there too!!
Hi Renee - Love your new sofa ❤ try turning your coffee table or ottoman in the other direction (horizontal to the TV wall). Someone suggested I do that in my house and it worked!
I also have the Meyer sectional from La Z Boy. We love it! Ours is a lighter gray color. Your living room is very nice!
Much better with the coffee table gone. Either the ottoman or a square coffee table. 👍
👍 I agree! 😉
Hello, you might want to try a round coffee table. Love your new sectional.
I love how this sofa looks in your living room. La-Z-Boy is a quality product (I have a sofa in my LR) and will last years. I do like how the ottoman looks in front of the sofa. It's perfect.

I unzipped my cushions and pulled out the batting and rearranged it …it helped so much… I was so relieved because it’s a perfect couch for the space otherwise . Nice you got a new one !
Yes the dogs are family. Put a sheet down, then you can wash it.
I don't want to see a sheet on my couch every day. They have plenty of dog beds and places to relax that belong to them.
Love the new couch. I'm a fabric girl for sure! Leather is cold and uncomfortable. I agree with some others who said you could try a square coffee table as well. I feel like i would just knock stuff off the ottoman and stuff will need moved anytime
Randy wants to use it.
Randy absolutely wants to put his feet on it. Guess I still have some figuring out to do.
I LOVE the pattern of the new couch fabric! And I love that the ottoman has wheels!! I have wheels under my dining room buffet, I can move it to clean behind it...

Have you thought about a round coffee table. My designer uses a round coffee table with sectionals. No bumping your knees. ❤
Good Morning Renee, love the new couch! We have always had leather but we want to change to fabric. Looks great❤
So nice! I like the idea of a round coffee table as it is easier to get around and no sharp corners in case you bump into it. That’s my new couch from our Lazy Boy from Boston Ma. I got Moss Green I love it. I was so happy to get rid of the Leather. Never again.
Oh wow! Woo hoo!
Maxxie is breaking in the new sofa....trust me LOL
I love Lazy Boy too! The couch in my office is that same brand. Super comfy and they have beautiful fabric options!
I do plan to swap out the pillows. I just haven't had time to find new one so I threw on what I had. I will update soon enough :)
Love it! Looks great 👍
I have a Lazyboy couch and loveseat set in my family room...SO SO comfortable .. we got the faux suede with reclining ends...LOVE
Use the ottoman as the coffee table…..it looks good and it’s gonna be practical…..giving you lots of space to move around ❤
I AGREE, YOUR NEW SOFA IS GORGEOUS. GREAT JOB. THANKS FOR SHARING.
Such a beautiful couch. It matches everything so perfectly. I like the ottoman better.
Omg I LOVE the new couch! I’ve been wanting a sectional for so long!
I love it too!!! It's sooo comfy and just perfect :)
You may need to add a large rectangular tray when your family is home for their drinks. You can use it only when needed. Keep in the pantry.
I’d love to know the wall color in your living room! The ottoman & sofa are beautiful. I’m anxious to get rid of my leather too!
Hi! It's Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore. It's the perfect greyish khaki :)
Love your new couch is very pretty! I missed you guys and I missed your doggies so much. I love them they’re so sweet glad you love your new couch.❤😊
Love it! Ottoman looks great, too! Now, you know the babies are going to get on the sofa! Who are you kidding?❤
Get a big blanket that matches the couch for the boys. They are so so cute. I do love your new couch.
Renée,
Maybe place there beds or a new one like one of those orthopedic dog beds for Maxi, with two thick blankies on it for them to do there scratching and tucking then there circles so they can cozy in for a long nap!
My much awaited new sofa is being delivered in about a month -I’m ready 😅 been on mine for 14 years. It’s time! 😂
Oooo nice!! I'm excited for you!
Love the fabric. It looks really nice set up. Enjoy❤
I love having my dogs on the couch with me . I think its worth it . Both my boy and two girls are gone. I still remember those couch snuggles fondly.
The new couch is beautiful.
I love your new sectional, ottoman is nice too as your table but your gonna have to move it every time you want to snuggle!😉😃
I always wondered if I should buy leather furniture because of my cats. You have convinced me to stick to fabric.
Absolutely stick to fabric. My daughter's cats have completely torn up a leather chair in her room. Not worth it.
Looks so good you might want to change the coffee table round or square works better with a sectional ❤ it give you more room
I love the new couch & ottoman! Great choice.😊
Thanks!!
LOL I'm loving the ottoman myself! Perfect for storage and as a coffee table. So cute!
Leather is always so cold! New couch looks great.
Looks absolutely brilliant Renée,
Congratulations!
Cheers!
Dave, Isle of Wight, UK.
Love your new sofa. Gorgeous
Love the new couch Renee. It goes really well with your rug. I also used to have a leather couch, and even though it was pretty,i didn't like sitting on it.
Thanks so much!
