@@EPlTHANY I think the agent determines the target they are aiming for. There are externals beyond their control that influence whether they will hit the target.
@@owlnyc666 Sure but we're talking about virtue. Virtue can be defined primarily in terms of its target (as well as field, basis, and mode), therefore it is somewhat similar to consequentialism
@@EPlTHANY I thought virtue, for a Stoic was defined in terms of intentions and the character of the individual. The consequences of what you do are beyond your control. I do not think that this should imply that we should not be mindful that our actions do have consequences.

I think the target based is the intentions not the consquences. You have no control over the consquences of your actions.
