As a retired R.N., we were not taught any of this in school. We observed surgeries, but were not instructed in how to suture and how the knots were tied so the sutures were secure. I always wondered what they were doing looping the "catgut" (thread) around the forceps like that. I think I'll have to watch it again to make sure I know how it's done. Thanks for posting.
P.S. You may want to redo it an increase the VOLUME. I could barely hear even though my volume was turned all the way up. 😊

The volume was perfectly fine for me, even on low.

Where can we get a medical practice suture kit, such as this one??

Amazon/Temu and a few other online stores have really cheap practice ones. I keep a cheap suture kit in my car for emergencies.

I wonder why a hemostat is used instead of the fingers.

Are you referring to pulling the needle through?

      @@mizzhllywd I think you're mistaking a hemostat from a needle driver/holder.

I’ve never met a nurse who does sutures in a professional setting.

Why edit out the final nipping of the suture line after an exemplar demonstration? You saved 5 seconds! Next time you make a procedural video, try not to cut out the beginning steps, middle, or the last two steps!
