Correction: Elizabeth Bathory HAS been used as a Castlevania villain before. Within the lore of the games, she was Dracula's niece in 1994's Castlevania Bloodlines on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. Her plan was to use the souls lost in the battles of the First World War to fuel Dracula's resurrection.
The new villain has to be Elizabeth Bathory, she is second most popular vampire character archetype next to Dracula. And it will be interesting to have a main villain who is a woman, Carmila doesn't count.
@@Raytheman581 Maybe because she was more of Issac's enemy than Trevor's? I mean she was kind of a side villain to the "heroes" because Death was the true enemy that wanted to resurrect Dracula, Did they even know that Carmila existed? That problem basically resolved by itself, well it was Issac the one who did it but you get my point, she was a great villain but not the main one, she was the side villain for a side character, a BADASS AND GREAT side character but a side character at the end.
@@Rei-Maon I guess, but she still important and had she not been stopped she would've grown more powerful with dracula out of the picture. I feel she should still at least count, at least by way of portrayal to the viewer in that she had the better fight scene along with Issac. Oh well, not like it matters I guess, at least they corrected that now and a female is the main villain from the start. Should be good and hopefully the writing is good.

Dracula has also been beaten at times by others that aren't Belmonts, that doesn't mean anything. For the short time that was afforded to her she commanded and made what she wanted of the world known.
They've taken elements from Rondo of Blood/Symphony of the Night (the heros), Bloodlines (villain), and Aria of Sorrow (Eclipse plot device). Aces for that track though. Gimme more of that.

You know they're cooking something awesome when it ressurects old habits. I gave up on music a long time ago. But this trailer with this soundtrack makes me want to go back to my old and full of dust piano. I used to play bloodlines, bloody tears, dracula's castle, wood carving partita, vampire killer, pretty much all these songs and I've been so depressed quitting everything. One trailer man... one trailer might have been a turning point for me. I haven't been this excited since I was a kid. This was powerful. I almost forgot how it feels to look forward to something. Funny how art can change someone's life. I think Castlevania worked so well as an anime adaptation because it was made by fans for fans. Samuel and Adam Deats actually played Castlevania and love it as much as we do so they get it. Very few things in life can bring meaning to something again in my case. I already have a good online relationship with the creators because they're really close to fans but I hope someday they realize how important their work is for people like me.
Yes, art is magic and I wish I learned to play the piano as you have. Hearing the chords and bridge with the darker tones of music made it a joy to see this trailer. Play your tunes dude! Castlevania is back again!!!
The series did a similar thing for me but for my drawing. Love the Kojima inspired designs of all the characters. They look even better than the last series
Annette's redesign is a good example of when you race swap. No one gave a shit about purple haired 80s anime girl Annette. Maria has to be a little blonde girl. She's iconic. I love the blademaster Annette already. You can tell from her facial expressions that she'll probably be the most traditionally heroic to Belmont's bad boy.
The thing that scares me is that there are already so many youtube vids of people screaming at the show, calling the director a “coward” and saying it’s woke garbage and that they should organize a boycott.

It wasn’t until young girls from noble families were killed that she was imprisoned in her castle 🏰 she is in my opinion the closet person we had to a real life vampire.

She is a Castlevania character bro. She’s from Castlevania Bloodlines that was on the original Saga system. You fought her before Dracula. She has green hair in the game.
Just an extra thing to add: Maria's design is based on their redesigns for Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles, the PSP remake of Rondo. Key artwork was remade by our goddess Ayami Kojima herself, so both Maria and Richter reflect that new key art.

umm . . .this is, ah . . .this is Richter-fuckin'-Belmont! . . . So for those of you who don’t know, Richter is thee strongest Belmont! He is the end product/pinnacle of the Belmont eugenics/line, which leads him to ruining the family’s name! Both him and his grandfather, Simon Belmont, have this one thing in common, where they both resurrect Dracula, but for different reasons though. Simon did it because both him and his line was cursed to become more weak and die off, so he had to collect all the pieces of Dracula that were scattered in these dilapidated and haunted mansions all throughout Transylvania. Richter did it just because he was bored af, like some mesomorph meathead asshole with roid-rage, displaying all the psychological effects of anger, aggressiveness, depression, and mania! Richter realizes this after he is beaten by Alucard and brought to his senses, realizing that the dark priest Shaft took advantage of him via his ego. This causes Richter to self-reflect and stops with making it all an “only” Belmonts thing and starts a training school for would-be vampire slayers, and before he dies, he becomes one with the whip, Vampire Killer, and in order for any vampire slayer to wield it and unlock its true potential, they must be able to beat the memory of him, or the whip will drain 'em dry!
Elizabeth Bathory was a wife of Polish king. In our country is said that whole story about bathing in wirgin's blood was created by her enemies to make her loose her status and power. And in most of fantasy stories, Bathory=Carmilla. I was sure, when watching Castlevania, that Carmilla was Elizabeth :p

Season 2 of the first Castlevania had a version of Bloody Tears when Trevor and the others invade Dracula’s Castle.
