After two terrible cheap indoor ptz cams that just one day decided to stop coming online (this wasn't an isolated incident mind you..) I just got my Eufy today it's incredibly good! Can't believe that for just $50 more I now have a smart camera that just works and does what it says it does. So far can't recommend it enough. Just ordered my micro SD. Fwiw it can remote manual record onto my Android phone and save there if need be too.
SO far, I spoke with Eufy Customer Support yesterday. I received the non-pan tilt camera. I asked when Pan/Tilt will arrive and they said the end of June. They said they underestimated the popularity of the Pan/Tilt camera. So far the non-Pan/Tilt is rocking and my wife and I love it to check on our son when napping and at night. THe Pan/Tilt may be used to check on our Great Dane. :D
I love how this camera supports both the native app and HSV. I was trying out the circle 2, and once you converted the camera to HSV, you couldn’t use the native app anymore. I hope homekit brings the ability to pan and tilt.
I’d have to agree. I have a couple of Circle 2’s that I haven’t converted to HSV for this very reason. Especially considering the current 5 camera limit with HSV, any Circle cameras will count against that allotment. I can switch HSV recording off on my Eufy’s and STILL have local recording via the native app. Thanks for watching!
Great Review. I just bought one of these puppies and was looking for a video showing setup and use. Your video gave me everything I was looking for . Thanks!
Great review, I ordered both of them just because during the promo and just got a a shipment email on the standard one. Can’t wait for the pan and tilt to ship. Great review.
Thanks for looking out! That’s only a link to their preorder site. Once it’s available on Amazon I’ll update the links. Please feel free to click my Amazon links if you like the camera enough to buy more 😊😉👍
I suggest you test the motion tracking while in night vision mode. Inexpensive PTZ cameras seem to have the most problems with this combination, although day mode is often not as good as most people would want.
I bought 5 on pre-order. The two regular ones came already. The 3 ptz just shipped. They will be replacing 3 of 10 year old tp-link PTZ cameras. I have several other eufy cameras,I wish they would have a better sale on the outdoor floodlight camera. They seem to be 170 right now. I think I paid $107 for the doorbell ones when they were on sale with extra coupon.
@@ReyG_HKSH Mine showed up yesterday. I will say that I use TinyCam PRo and like that I can preview all cameras at once. It's unfortunate you can't see to do this with the native eufy software. I may have to build out a NAS NVR to do more of what I want. That being said, video quality is very good and PTZ motion is quiet. I do wish the software had more flexibility. Perhaps I will make a suggestion to them.
I got one of each setup. Strange thing happened though. They both went offline and would not connect. They appeared to still be powered up. My eufy wired doorbell still worked though. I had to power cycle both new units to get it to reconnect. I have TPLink powered outlets on them, so I can do this remotely. Wonder why they went out, and both at the same time.
Awesome I preordered mine awhile back. I am still waiting on abode to come out with their outdoor camera since I am an Abode Iota user as well. Can’t wait to get mine. Great vid as always!
@@ReyG_HKSH it’s good, but not perfect like I would like, Apple still needs to fix the alarm trigger issue in Home/Night mode with the motion sensors, but being able to automate certain things in HomeKit with the alarm system is great. Excellent review Rey! Cannot wait to get this as well as their other indoor variant. Please consider doing a similar review of Eufy’s five piece home security alarm system. Curious to see how it all integrates together w/Home Kit.
Thanks for watching! Haven’t seen any marketing suggesting integration with HomeKit for their security system to this point. If it does, then I will plan on taking a look at it in the future.
Thanks for this video, this thing looks good enough to keep an eye out for those mice that keep getting into my apartment. I have a rough idea where they come from but I don't know what opening to look for. This little inexpensive cam may do the trick with its motion and sound detection. Local storage and Google assistant to boot... sold! If it doesn't work for the mice... well I've been wanting a cam anyway.
Hey Rey, when you enabled the beta to get HomeKit, did you lose the option to transmit the rtsp stream (the NAS option)? I am hoping even HSV, I can transmit via rtsp also. Best of both worlds (esp for the presale price!)
Hi Rich, the option appears to still be available for setup under RTSP even after HSV is enabled. Since this is beta firmware, anything can change before release though.
Love you reviews. I have the eufy cam 2C and they are great but I would really like for them to include the 2 way audio in HomeKit. I know other brands have this and it should be baked into HomeKit. How do you feel about that feature not being in HomeKit?
Thanks for watching! The reason I was given regarding the absence of 2-way audio was that Eufy wasn’t satisfied with the full duplex 2-way audio implementation so they left it out. Not sure if they plan on integrating it in the future but I’d like to see that functionality as well but in real world usage I rarely use it.
I really want several of these but the cord may be the dealbreaker for me. I might have to pay the extra fee for the 2C but I wish they made an indoor version for the lower price because I do not need the weather-proofing.
I know right? If any cameras lend themselves to being battery powered it’s indoor cameras. Running cables is a pain and we even try to hide them behind the wall for aesthetics. Thanks for watching!

Wanted to hook you up in case you had a code cause I just bought 6 of them. Gotta love that notification bell. Again thanks for helping me out with your video. Keep up the good work. Family will benefit from this!
Abraham Long It should be able to add into HomeKit as shown in the video. You will need to add it to the Eufy app first. If you are unable to add it, then it’s likely that the camera didn’t ship with the needed firmware for HomeKit. The target right now is mid-late June for the firmware’s availability. Not that it helps but I can say the camera has been working great under HomeKit and the wait will be worth it, especially at this price point!
Rey G i know but i understand that WiFi 6 is also compatible with the 2.4 GHz band, unlike WiFi 5 which only operates in the 5Ghz band. I don’t see what type of WiFi is supported on the 2.4 GHz of this camera. I wonder if it’s g, n or ax
Gary L not really, with WiFi n you only get approximately 100 mbps traffic on the 2.4 Ghz band so if you have multiple devices including multiple cameras working with this configuration it might fill up the network quite fast. I understand WiFi 6 dramatically improves speeds on 2.4 Ghz band as well.
It likely will, but public wifi may pose challenges. There is a great video on YT channel by LifeHackster that features such a solution for connecting a wifi camera to public wifi. I recommend a quick search of his content. Thanks for watching!

Is it Alexa comparable?
Cesar Yes it is. Thanks for watching!
Just got mine and it cannot seem to find it in the HomeKit setup. Any ideas?
Abraham Long It should be able to add into HomeKit as shown in the video. You will need to add it to the Eufy app first. If you are unable to add it, then it’s likely that the camera didn’t ship with the needed firmware for HomeKit. The target right now is mid-late June for the firmware’s availability. Not that it helps but I can say the camera has been working great under HomeKit and the wait will be worth it, especially at this price point!
Rey G yea it seems that the firmware isn’t ready yet at least for the public.
Does this come with a micro SD card? If so, what size? Do notifications work even w/o micro SD card?
It does not include a micro SD card, you will need to supply your own. The camera will function without one. Thanks for watching!
@@ReyG_HKSH Thanks for confirming. Looking forward to your review of the non pan tilt version. 🙂
No geofencing?
Is it WiFi 6 compatible? 2.4 ghz only is my only concern
The specs listed by Eufy indicate 2.4GHz only.
As long as its 2.4ghz
Gary L not really, with WiFi n you only get approximately 100 mbps traffic on the 2.4 Ghz band so if you have multiple devices including multiple cameras working with this configuration it might fill up the network quite fast. I understand WiFi 6 dramatically improves speeds on 2.4 Ghz band as well.
Can this be wall mounted?
Yes.
Does it have a battery?
This camera needs to be plugged in to an outlet.
Will this work on a public wifi?
It likely will, but public wifi may pose challenges. There is a great video on YT channel by LifeHackster that features such a solution for connecting a wifi camera to public wifi. I recommend a quick search of his content. Thanks for watching!
Is it wired or battery powered?
JustPassing Through Wired.
This camera DOES NOT work with Alexa. Constant message "Camera is not responding" with each and every attempt to view, and I when I look at the reviews within the Alexa skill, most customers have given Eufy a ONE star for the same reason. This is absolute rubbish although the camera works well within its own app.
Thanks
👀
Rather long video, could have done this in half the time if I am honest
Techy Time Probably but I like to be thorough 😊 Thanks for watching 👍
Rey G I am sure you don’t do it for the mid roll advert placement 😂
