UKRAINE WAR: Putin rejoices! "Important places captured!" Enormous losses! Russians crush everything
A recent phone call between Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky opened a new chapter in international diplomacy. This conversation attracted attention, especially in Russia. Pro-Russian blogger and influential opinion leader Yuri Padaljaka, with around 2.8 million followers on Telegram, reacted promptly and sarcastically to the conversation. He interpreted the contact between Zelensky and Trump as a sign that Zelensky may no longer be counting on Biden's support and is reorienting himself. Padaljaka interpreted this as "foresighted action" and compared it to rats leaving a sinking ship.
There are also developments to report on the war in Ukraine. Russian troops recently captured several iconic areas that were recaptured during the Ukrainian summer offensive last year. These include Krynky, a strategic bridgehead on the Dnieper River, and Urozhayne in the Donetsk region, near the province of Zaparozhye. The advance west of Ocheretyne in the Donbass shows that the Russian military operation continues to gain ground, despite high casualties.
