As a Billy the Kid and Lincoln County War enthusiast, you certainly did your homework on the history. The war was not between white hats and black hats, it was very grey. Well done.
I've been to Lincoln on several occasions, and you can even stay in the old Wortley hotel , which I did. there were deer running all around the town, . Definitely worth a visit. After reading two books by W.C. Jameson, Billy the kid, the lost interviews, and Billy the kid, beyond the grave , I'm convinced that it was another member of billly's gang that was killed at ft. sumner. Pat Garett was in A big hurry to bury the body, and he never collected the bounty on the kid. The books make A good case to establish, Billy lived until 1959 , and died in Hico TX.
Wow. I've seen lots of historical location tour videos but I've never seen someone uphold such a high level of entertainment consistently for the whole ep.
Love all the interesting history facts and folklore!! Super enjoy all of your history videos!!! I appreciate how you delve into great history, and bring it to us! THANK YOU!!! (And Julio is always a charming scene-stealer... I think he knows that. :)
Nice video. Thanks for taking the time out to educate those who really don't know much about the history of these men. Hey there was some stuff that I didn't even know. Thanks
Outstanding vlog Justin!! I've always loved the way your style of storytelling really draws you in. 💕 Today even more so... but wow...I was not expecting the ending!! 🤗The ending music was perfect!! 😎🐓Julio saved the day!!
I’m not going to lie. I am proud to say that I am one of the few people, if not the only person, to have ever gotten kicked out of the Billy the Kid Museum. It was 1997, and I had just seen Young Guns 2 where they claim that Billy got away from Pat Garrett and took on the alias Brushy Bill Roberts. I argued that Pat Garrett let Billy go, and Billy went to Mexico and became Brushy Bill. The owners of the museum became so furious with me that they demanded that I leave the museum. Naturally, I don’t believe that Pat Garrett let Billy get away, but it sure was fun to be a conspiracy theorist for a minute. I didn’t think they would get so angry that I would get kicked out, tho. The people of Fort Sumner, New Mexico take Billy the Kid very, very seriously.
Love this video, I have always been interested in Billy the Kid history, I have gone to several places where Billy the Kid used to be at but I have never been to this museum, GREAT JOB on this video. .
I gotta say. I'm a huge fan of Billy the kid. I've actually been to the museum. Narrating was perfect on this video. I just subscribed. Thanks for the great video.
I’ve known the Billy the Kid story most my life since the early 90s. and just now learning that the Murphy store was also the courthouse where Billy escaped. Learn something new every day
Great ending!!! Now that’s the way to make a video vlog!!! You don’t even realize you’re learning about important historical items as you’re watching. Thanks Justin!!
Thanks Justin, did a great job! I live here in Alamogordo and you have cleared up a lot of questions I had after seeing the same places you did. Wish I had got the chance to say hi personally.
Hello Justin, brilliant video mate, very informative and I like the way tell the story and the way you show us around the locations, all the best, Lee.
Great video Justin, was always curious about these places, thank you for taking us there. Thanks for all that you do and for all the hard work you put into your videos.
Fab! I was there in 2016, visited from Hong Kong so it was a cool trip. Also a big BTK fan. Lots of fascinating stuff in NM. Good piece man, I'll def re visiting Lincoln again one day.
Bro! Other than Disney, this has got to be my most favorite. Billy is my favorite outlaw/hero of the old west, and by knowing Young Guns like the back of my hand, this really hit home.
Love your videos, man. I did a research paper on Billy the Kid when I was in high school. Very interesting to see these places for real. Well. As real as I can get without going cross-country.
That was the best adventure yet! I loved it! Especially, that little Julio vs. Alien ditty at the end!😂👽🐔 My grandfather had a real passion for the Old West, and as an archaeologist, he loved to explore the old sites and tell us about his finds and the old stories. The museum fir Billy the Kid looks amazing. I wasn't aware that there was a deeper side to his life story. Thanks for sharing it with us! And happy travels!
It's special because it was a once in a lifetime thing,it was unique, unprecedented n new.the west only lasted about 40 years the great frontier, gone forever but not forgotten....
I love this type of stuff. Just a normal guy getting down to the nitty-gritty, on-site. All the others are polished and done by 'experts', etc. They can't bring the realism to it like someone with energy and excitement can vs stating it academically.
I was hoping you’d do a video about Billy The Kid (yes, the movie Young Guns got me really fascinated by his story). Always wanted to see these places. As always, very informative and well crafted videos! Thanks Justin ☺️
You actually made a fun/funny & interesting tour of Billy's old stumping grounds. Most people would (myself included) have just made a typical boring home video without all the comical drama. The ending is going the extra mile to try to entertain your audience. I was kind of wishing your "visitor" had been the Kid coming after you. But the space guy is appropriate for N.M.
I've NEVER understood why people steal grave markers. For what? To tell everyone a cool story of how you stole it? Literally no one is going to think you're cool for robbing a grave no matter the person. Theres some things in life you just dont do, and grave robbing is one of them.
Thank you, thank you, thank you....... I have been begging Adam, Oscar, and you....... this is an incredible area...... Don't forget down the road in Capitan is the Smokey bear museum and burial!
Here is my video on a couple of places associated with Billy The Kid: His childhood home, his mother's grave, a cave he used and his initials on a cliff in New Mexico - ua-cam.com/video/6-2w_D1eIcY/v-deo.html
You're giving me travel fever, Justin! I've always wanted to visit Arizona, New Mexico JUST for the OoOOOoooooOOOOllld west stuff. (Did you compose the synth music?)
You have to ask if Billy was just pardoned like most everyone else would he have gone straight and avoided any more run-ins with the law? His story would have ended with the Lincoln Co. wars and he might have just gone and been a rancher of some sort. Something to think about.
As a Billy the Kid and Lincoln County War enthusiast, you certainly did your homework on the history. The war was not between white hats and black hats, it was very grey. Well done.
There's nothing better than hearing about history from someone who is passionate about it! Thanks Justin!!
Kid: "Hi Bob"
Ollinger: "Oh Shit"
(Shotgun Blast)
Kid: "Bye Bob!"
Kid: "Best dollar eighty I've ever spent!"
A few dimes in him, eh ?
Hey Pepin!!!! Charlie Crawford ain't with ya no more!!!!
It's videos like this that keep the old west legends alive. Thank you. You did a great job of telling the story also.

I love that you put so much research into the area you are visiting.
Those drone shots at the end are so cool! Love how you make history and folk lore interesting :)
I'm gonna go to that town one day.
All the way from Ireland.
Love all the interesting history facts and folklore!! Super enjoy all of your history videos!!! I appreciate how you delve into great history, and bring it to us! THANK YOU!!! (And Julio is always a charming scene-stealer... I think he knows that. :)
Super proud of you Justin, you've come a long way since I first started watching your vids and I have no doubt you'll go further.

Only in America can criminals be viewed as legitimate celebrities. Great video either way.
I love this type of stuff. Just a normal guy getting down to the nitty-gritty, on-site. All the others are polished and done by 'experts', etc. They can't bring the realism to it like someone with energy and excitement can vs stating it academically.

I went to all these places back in 2010. I loved it. If anyone goes stay at the wortley hotel. Great history and owners.
