      You can be an all time great without being a great prospect. The last 5 QBs graded as highly as Caleb are Lawrence, Burrow, Luck, Stafford, and Manning. Not always the top guys in their class but guys with this hype just don't ever bust. It's like the NBA with massive prospects like Wemby, Rose, Oden, Durant, LeBron, Webber, Shaq, etc. Some end up better than others but no one ends up anything less than good. It's why you cannot pass on a guy who grades this well if you have the top pick. The ceiling is sky high but more importantly the floor is high as well.

    Soooo, if you have 8 picks in the first 2 rounds between 2024-25(as suggested by Peter King), aren't you avoiding paying FAs to fill the roster? Essentially resetting the clock on multiple positions? For most teams resting the QB clock carries more weight than it does the Bears, due to the fact they have an NFL starting QB already on the roster. One that has tremendous upside, and could still be considered developmental due to the lack of support on the field and sidelines. While I would be foolish to discredit Caleb's athleticism and arm talent, there is no guarantee he even becomes a mid-level starting QB in the NFL, let alone elite. These days the term "generational" is used as frequently as saying "please" and "thank you".

    • @NilsDervinger
      @NilsDervinger 6 місяців тому +1

      There is no guarantee anyone develops. That's why they are called prospects.
      Also not all picks are the same. The bullet point "3 first rounders" sounds catchy but like a team say like Was (for arguments sake) won't be picking 2nd overall next year. Especially if they get the QB they want and he more than likely is at least league average in his 1st year in the pros. WAS will be what a 10 win team ? 9 wins ? 2025 draft there 1st round pick would be probably in the 17-22 range. 3 1st rounders is below average haul. Nothing special.

    Breer makes me so angry. He is wrong about everything but thinks he is knowledgable.

    This generational talent bullshit is just ridiculous. So when they saw Tom Brady did they say generational talent? What about all the other quarterbacks in the NFL who are doing well? None of them are considered generational talents? Patch Mahomes? I mean it’s really easy to say those words but it’s hard to back it up and you’re going on only college videos, that’s it, you’re showing his best work in college not the NFL so this generational bullshit …get over it

    AB … stop with the generational talk…. We have NO idea how he is going to be in the NFL

      I think the word generational is over used...that said, saying someone is a generational talent isn't the same as saying they'll be a generational NFL player. There is more that goes into being a good NFL player than just talent.

    Keep Fields, build a dynasty with a pick haul. Pick Williams and start over again. ugh. Williams is most likely the better quarterback but how many times has Rogers won the super bowl? It takes the entire team to win, not just the quarterback.

      Which NFL dynasty ha been built with a bottom third starting QB? All that is contingent on your belief that Justin Fields is better than he has revealed himself to be over three years. If he is just another bottom third starting qb, which is what he has been, then all those future picks will be made by the next Bears exec and Ryan Poles goes down as Chicago's Sashi Brown. One of the first things that exec will do is get a QB, and probably not one as highly regarded as Williams or Maye. After all, the Bears had to give up two firsts, a 4th, and a 5th for Fields and his bottom third starter self.

      @@benoitwaffle5439He was bottom 3rd with a bottom 3rd team as well. Bears were in rebuilding years and they’re on the verge on finally completing that build if they trade the pick.
