    Another relevant good thing of the EX30 is the high towing weight, which makes it possible to tow a caravan. The EX30 is also suitable for a bicycle carrier with 2 e-bikes.

      Definitely.. Should maybe include that as well, because that is actually quite impressive for this segment. But didn't reach my top 5

    From Ohio, USA, I've taken your EX30 journey right along with you and want to thank you for your excellent efforts! Without as much as even seeing a live EX30, I'm inclined to agree with your Top 5 Likes! I'm excited to see your Low Points... I assume they'll include Range, the lack of a heads-up display option, a variety of Software issues in addition to things like a backseat armrest, and other items that seem to be simply missing for no good reason.

      Thanks so much for your feedback 👍 Can actually say that I'm not disappointed over the range. We're on the end of winter, so expecting much better efficency late spring/early summer. I'm more disappointed over the charging curve..

    EX30(Ultra Single Extended Range)を注文しています。
    今月中に納車予定ですが、本日2回目の試乗をしました。
    Golf GTEからの乗り換えです。
    第一印象はとても運転しやすく、低重心でスムースで滑らかに感じました。
    短時間の試乗ですが、今までにないクルマの予感です。

    Kristian, yesterday I charged my 2024 EX 40 Dual Motor at a 350KW charger, at 70% my rate was 53kw, at the next charger a Polestar 2 was getting 150kw at 80%, is there that much difference between Volvo and their orphaned sister

    • @volvo_kristian
      @volvo_kristian  6 місяців тому

      Hello. There's a bunch of elements that could explain this. Like when you/him connected, preheating, limitations in the actual charger, and obviously potential issues with the car itself. On paper both have the same hardware, so shouldn't be different. By the way...Your 2024 are called XC40.. It's only called EX40 from MY25

    What are your overall impressions of single motor vs twin? Any preferences on day to day driving? Worth the upgrade?

    • @volvo_kristian
      @volvo_kristian  6 місяців тому +2

      I'm actually quite impressed over the Single Motor Extended Range version. Even when driving on snow/ice covered roads. The traction control does a good job, and the tuning on the accelerator pedal are nicely calibrated so you won't suddenly spin out. Here a good set of tires are crucial. Personally I would go AWD either way, since I'm driving quite much on snow covered roads. Studded and AWD for the win. For me. But could totally go for Extended Range Single Motor if I lived slightly more south in Norway

    I live in South Florida. I wonder if the wool seats would be scratchy. I usually wear shorts. Why doesn't Volvo offer "vegan" seats, maybe ventilated seats. I do like the design.

    • @volvo_kristian
      @volvo_kristian  6 місяців тому

      Have driven cars with the Tailored Wool extensively in many different Volvo's. Including my own XC40. Have never experienced it to be scratchy. Or itching. It's only a 30% Wool share in this upholstery

    Hi Kristian. I have only taken the EX30 on a 1-hour test drive, but what I was surprised with most of all, was the quality of the suspension. The roads in the UK are terrible for pot holes but the car dealt with them with ease. Would certainly be my No.1 'like'

    Excellent video, one of your best! I'd find a video comparing the EX30 with the XC40 Recharge interesting, even though they in differ considerably in size and cost. It would also be helpful to viewers who are considering a new EX30 versus a used XC40 Recharge (or C40), where the difference in cost may not be significant.
    The sharp reduction in the time between the postings of your videos--not just the recent batch of EX30 ones--is evidence that you, like many others before you, have been sucked into black hole E72-406FX8, more commonly known as "UA-cam".

      Really glad you liked it. Yeah maybe I'm dropping a comparison soon 🤔 Have thought much about the point you're raising. New EX30 vs used XC40/C40. Quite a interesting debate.
      Not sure if I understand your black whole 🤣 but since I'm doing this as a hobby there's going to be some longer pauses between videos when I'm not borrowing a presscar. But now I had to go all in

    Hi from Australia! Can you say why Volvo is producing a new model 2025 when we have only had the 2024 model for about a month? We agree with your 5 points, especially the driving experience, which we found fun. We’ve also watched your 2nd video & agree with all your bad points!! Thank you, great videos.

    • @volvo_kristian
      @volvo_kristian  3 місяці тому

      @KerryA-w2e Volvo always starts a new model year production around April/may. Like now. Recently started MY25 for all models. We got the first EX30's here in January, and will soon get the MY25 cars so it's more than a month, but see your point. Sometimes they start production late in a model year, then this will happen. Then it's also transportation time. Like we have around 3 months delivery on EX30, because it's coming all the way from China, but last month we got the MY25 XC60's and V90's. Since they are coming from Sweden.

    I have only driven a test car for ½ an hour or so but agree with your comments. I have a twin motor performance on order with delivery scheduled for August and can’t wait although there are a couple of things, I’m disappointed with. It’s not really a five-seater and I’d rather Volvo had fitted a rear armrest instead of a centre seat belt and headrest that will never be used. Despite the Volvo press release stating that all EV’s will be equipped with all season tyres the EX30 will be supplied with summer tyres so I will have to replace them, or carry chains.

    • @volvo_kristian
      @volvo_kristian  6 місяців тому

      Yeah. Totally agree. The lack of a armrest are a weird decision by Volvo.

    Storage capability is not that much one that I like. For example service notebook cannot fit into clove box. Then having all stuff that I had in V40 isn't finding their places. I would say that design has overdrive a bit usability what comes for storage places.
    But then good things, I definitely like driving my EX30, that is maybe the best point.
