As a sister, who does not subscribe to reform ideology, i want to share this observation of our fathers and brothers It’s not easy being a brother just because you work - it demands physical endurance for the whole of your life, long hours, and especially if your work is outside - the elements can damage you even more. You can do everything at the expense of your family and sacrifice your whole being for everyone, but you still won’t even earn the status of the wife when she has a child, becoming a mother, as Jannah is underneath her feet and she has 3x the more right. What I’m saying is, our women shouldn’t ever spout this ignorance, being dissatisfied with what they have, because they’ve been given more honour just for their childbearing, than a whole life of labour. So why would they ever want to change the way that they live when it is best for them? Islam is unapologetically patriarchal, and i love that, because it’s the truth from a Creator that knows our nature more than we can guess at and make assumptions to as to what is most fitting for us instead of following the Law of He who knows every atom within us. And the only thing is that the West is trying to make it seem like a bad thing, when intrinsically, it isn’t! What’s wrong with the fairest system of a given-and-take relationship? A society of protecting women from the fitnah of men? Do you *want* to be wronged, your desire to be outside more than in your own house with your family isn’t benefitting you at all.
