I have the 2024 version of this board in a 155 and this review is spot on. It's fun as hell in the park and butters like a dream, but also really lively and can absolutely make your quads cramp out bombing down a choppy chundery steep.
I just got the 157W 2023 model I absolutely love this board….looks so sick gets you the snow bunnies if you want the clap….but no clap out on the features😉
Finally sold that Twin Pig & ordered this up yesterday. Having transitioned to riding with my kids on the weekends it’ll be nice to have one board to grab & know what’s coming.

So disappointed in myself I didn’t get a wide. Waited a couple years to ride it, had it, but had to exchange it for the only wide in the shop, a Twin Pig 56W. Still I appreciate this review because now I’m waiting another year for this.
I really appreciate you mentioning the “hookieness & washing out” because with my 13s the non-wide would’ve been a disaster. However being the “hero Dad” a “weekend warriors 1 board quiver killer” will be dope!

@@pegas2929 I only rode it indoors at Big Snow. It seemed a little bland but the snow there’s a odd consistency. Dimensionally it was good especially with my 13s. TBH I really am looking forward to getting it on some quasi real stuff opening it up & pushing it. As of now I don’t not like it & see the potential for a good whip but the jury’s out if that helps.
Just picked one up. I’m glad this guy doesn’t like it much. He recommended the K2 party platter a few years ago and that board was complete garbage.

Hey Avran. Thanks for the review(all of them actually 😂). I am riding the jones MT atm and looking for 1 new do it all. I am between the super pig and this. I know they are not the same , but which one whoyld you choose for grip, side hits,carving and trees?

I am usually at the basin. Most of the time I can’t figure out where the park features are. But I do not go to the basin to find features :-)
I have the 2021 T.R. Golden Orca I like the board a lot. I definitely think there are a lot better options out there for less money. 🤷♂️

Had this board in 157 and then exchanged for the 161. Liked the 157 better. I didn’t understand that I just needed two boards. 161 was tough to turn on. Or I just sucked back then.

What’s this board like to butter? Looking for an all mountain shredder but also presses quite nice
It’s c2 so if you know how to move your weight around it’s pretty easy
Hey mate I’ve got the dynamo and looking at this. Are they much different? Keen to carve and nice side hits and medium features. Does this get squirrelly on flat base? Any other recommendations for really good carving and jumping? Cheers man!

How does this board compare to the YES Greats
Not as snappy, doesn't have the asym sidecut so heelside turns aren't the same, it's more damp and doesn't react as fast when you load it up.
Just bought the 2023 on curated, intermediate/advanced rider on the east coast that likes to do it all on the mountain but will be using it with a set back stance for the Tahoe pow starting this Friday. Did I make a mistake buying this? I’m upgrading from a 2012 flow merc so I think I’ll be happy with how it performs compared to the flow but would love your thoughts

Flying V way more reverse in a shorter section with 0 camber.
Basically the snowboard for R/Snowboarding. That and the Orca.
Still too much board for those people, Skatebanana or bust.

What’s the main differences between this board and the never summer protosynthesis ‘23?
Sidecut, flex, camber length, and this isn't a piece of shit like the Never Summer.

The GNU riders choice is almost the same deck. I think less expensive
Inflation and cost to produce in the states.
@@Kyle-pl6rl RC is asym iirc. asym is tech yes but its not stomp pads,r ubber dampening or carbon stringers - adding more expensive materials.

This board was to stiff torsionaly and edgey for me, I’m not a pro and this is a pro board.
That reverse camber in the middle is the worst invention in the snowboard world.
Guess you haven't seen suspension bindings, rotational bindings, Dope outerwear, HUD goggles, and the like.
why?
I still have the 2018 one and it's a great board. It feels like each generation has gotten worse.

@@newrenaissance I'm no expert, but I believe they changed the construction at some point. Mine is HP construction.
@@MalcolmPowder it’s still HP, maybe you’re just in the “bargaining” stage hehe. I had a 2019 t.ras when it was just the rice with a new graphic and sold it after 4 days. It’s a fine board there’s just better ones everywhere

@@AngrySnowboarder I wouldn't call this board mediocre being made in the USA, environmentally friendly, unchanged for years due to it's great ride & on & on, as a rider of 27 years it's simply one of the best do it all boards out there & durable, that I keep coming back to. I've ridden many brands as well. Lib remains one of my favorites for boards. nor is this board for the weekend warrior. I like most of your reviews however.
