Cross was incredibly stubborn on D16 even though he was a mile away every time. It was so bizarre to see.

It’s the double at the top, not hard to understand.
No one can ever take Mighty Mike's game for granite. After all he's the original Luke Littler in a sense. Look how dominant young Michael Van Gerwin used to be. Probably even more so than Luke Littler is now. As much as i enjoy watching Luke I was a huge fan of Van Gerwin first.

Not at 16 he wasn't and not in the Premier darts division so I don't agree with your opinion, and yes Luke is now 17.
You’re probably right but only for the ‘young’ part. When it comes to who’s the most talented of the two, I’d take the premier league champion who hit a 9 against the world number 1. All aged 17.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, especially about Gilding. Don't think he has played many matches that are longer than a best of 19.
Bros, they throw for hours at time against a top player daily,,, the pressure be immense I’m sure in the actual tournament, but that’s why they be championship players from all over the world!!
It's their job, they gotta be ready, otherwise, there's no point, cos they'd be beaten before they start.

Never ever write Michael Van Gerwen off! I'm not referring to this match specifically but how many times has he thrown a worse average and won? It's maths, it shouldn't work that way, however, he has an inner demon that knows how to find 3 more gears! Assuming he gets in front, he usually stays there, though it does take time (contrary to what most commentators say) for him to warm up. I wonder if the long format of the game affected Gilding? Michael was playing crazily in those first few legs, love his action! I'm sure he played double speed in those first 5 legs. It's almost like the faster he gets, the more you can feel his confidence oozing, and truly believe that every double is gonna go when he's in that mood! Glad to see he didn't taper off towards the end, as he so frequently does. Relaxed - as the commentators said, was exactly the right word, which is what I think Rob Cross became once his fate had been decided for him.

PDC, how is it that for most of the tournament we miss loads of darts going in doubles, or miss players switching cover shots because the camera doesnt keep up, then randomly the last few days we dont miss any of the action? It's like this in other tournaments too. Why not just do whatever youve changed the last few days but from the start in future? 🤔
I'd say it's whoever is directing. The good ones should know the players' likely moves ahead of time. For example Whitlock would likely go t15 on the 8th dart into a 9.
Bristow R.I.P used to do that job for the darts. It's just certain players go for different routes. Like Cross on his 18's or Littler going 16 double 10 on 36. They can't get it right all the time, as players will change finishes up out of the blue. Definitely not an easy job.
They always drink through their beer too quickly so film the last matches sober
@@garyparkinson6198 I think its down to the individual. There are times when we don't miss a single dart even when a player switches at the last minute or makes an unconventional change in their route, it seems like they at least have someone there that can do it because they have done it many times, but on the other side of the coin they must absolutely have people that cant. But it takes you out of the action and it needs addressing.
@@adamcalder294 Clearly they have at least one person there smashing it, but the disparity is noticeable and I think its unacceptable for a professional sport. It needs addressing
i can only watch PDC darts of UA-cam as highlights because the real games on Sky Sports are terrible for the breaks and these breaks are ruining the game. Far too many breaks and it affects play.
And the annoying commentators on Sky sports lol😂

They started calling it "The big fish" a heck of a lot more since Littler came on to the scene, especially after he performed those cheesy fishing reenactments several times after he hit the 170 finishes. Now they call it that phrase more than ever.

Matches are way too long. Especially when not throwing in sets. Most of the time, after half of the match is played you are watching two players who just want to get it over with.

That’s the way he plays, what do you want all the players to do now play 100mph that’s the way the guy plays. How about mvg getting the hell out of the enclosure when you’re opponent is throwing there darts. The refs should be doing there jobs get you’re foot off the enclosure gilding should refuse to throw and just keep walking back into him. But no he can’t possibly do that can he. Calling him boring is disrespectful his in a quarter final on pure merit
