I've decided that from here on out my favorite VoicePlay or Geoff song will be the next one. This was another song that shouldn't work as a cappella and they killed it. Phil Collins is my favorite pop artist and VoicePlay did In the Air Tonight even better than he did--it just dropped. These guys just make my jaw drop. I also think credit is due to their hidden member Ed Boyer for his genius mixing skills.
As a person with no musical training, I always appreciate the analysis done by music teachers. Because your chosen profession is to explain things well your analysis is insightful and easy to understand. One thing that I have learned from different reactors is to listen carefully to the entire song including the spaces. They use that lack of sound really effectively.
Thanks so much Janet! I’m glad you are enjoying the videos! Yes they are amazing with the arrangements and the use of space. They are making and so much fun to listen to.
I love how Anthony passes off the high note to Eli. If you haven't reacted to Golden Hour, please do - it's VoicePlay plus Anthony again. I'm off to listen to VoicePlay's new one, then I'll be looking for you again to see what you think of it.
I cannot stop watching reactors getting broke by this song...this song broke me as well. Geoff Arranged this one and they just seem to get better with each cover they do!! I just do not know how they do it. There are no words at all. And Anthony has the voice of an angel with all those runs...OMG!!! Great reaction!!
Always enjoy your analysis and enthusiastic reactions to Voiceplay and Geoff. I'm the wrong generation to have known this song, but it really doesn't matter. Voiceplay can make me love anything!!
I love what you can do with voices! Brings about a special feeling and sound. Had not heard this song with them before. It is great, like all their voices and Geoff’s bass is just insane! Thanks for all your comments on the music!
@@bobcieslinski When he started that bass line, I was thinking it was an actual bass. Then I realized the song was going to be not only different, but as it progressed just got better.
@@guygourley2411 it sure was a cool one. It amazes me how group like this arrange and orchestrate these songs and make something just as special as the original.
@@bobcieslinski I actually was listening to the radio yesterday and the original of that song came on. I identified it by the bass line lol. I think the Voiceplay version is much better!
As always, I love any analysis you do to VoicePlay or Geoff. I always hold that my favourite is their lstest one and in between I fall back on their Carry On My Wayward Son. That one had a serious contender here. And you just need to check In The Air Tonight.
I really want them to get some recognition from the Grammy's or equivalent because they truly deserve that. I know it's because most of those award shows are propped up by the Sony's and other which is why Pentatonix, Home Free and some others have labels. VoicePlay wants to keep the creativity within themselves.
The "electronic-ish" sound is actually Layne, layered of course (can't do that while beatboxing... Or can he? 🤔). I watched this video so many times, and yet I still can't wrap my mind around every thing they do here. These guys just raise the bar at every sigle new song they make. 😱 And they just released "In the air tonight", Phil Collins cover... And I don't want to spoiler anything 😁. As always, enjoyed your reaction and analysis. And believe me, I could do with even some MORE analysis. 🙂 See you next time!
I know I said it before but it's very true. I've never heard this band before you or this song (about to look up the original) Record labels need to let reactors like yourself be and not try to strike you. You help spread the bands and their songs.
@@bobcieslinski honestly I'd like to know what the individual artists think but hey. You too sir! You deserve more credit and recognition than you are getting!!
For future reference Anthony's name is pronounced Garjoola. It's another Italian name, like Casteluicci. And Cesar is pronounced Seezer, as in Julius, the Roman emperor. I know how much trouble Americans tend to have with foreign names. :) Good reaction though.
Hey! New viewer here… I’d love for you to check out the new Queens of the Stone Age album it has some masterful songwriting in it I think it’d be really interesting to get your thoughts on. Cheers!
They just dropped In the Air Tonight and it’s unbelievable ❤
Oh wow that would be awesome!

Indeed. What isn’t there, what you don’t hear, is often just as important as what you do.

It’s nice to get that recognition from the Grammys but honestly the best thing they get is from their fans which is who they do it all for anyway.

Great video Love the sounds In the music.🎸
It was pretty awesome William!
Geoff has a really good version of the headless horseman
Love it.
For me VoicePlay is the most creative and the best sounding a cappella group, followed by Voctave (woman and men).👋👋👋👍👍👍
Voiceplay is for sure so creative I love it. I haven’t done any Voctave.

Do a comparison with Post-Modern Jukebox's cover. It answers the question "what if Jessica Rabbit sang this?"
Hey, can you please do the cover of changes live by Charles Bradley it’s such an amazing performance I feel like you’d fully appreciate it
