+Ella Wakeman I don't why, but he "reads" lyrics quite often at his concerts. I think its just a gimmick. I believe he is well aware of the "image" he is projecting by appearing to read the lyrics. In other words, he thinks its cute ;)
It's actually really hard to remember lyrics. Most of the time you know lyrics by heart it's because you've listened to a song many, many times and sung along to it many many times. If you WROTE the song, you never sing along to it. You ARE it. So it's harder. Also, when you sing along to a track, you're singing along to someone else who is leading the track. When it's you yourself performing, you'd on't have that.
@@averyjohnson138 the entirety of the real album are great. I Mean they aren't that much different from the originals, but that also makes it great. Because the originals are all amazing.
This is a shitty song about the Columbine High School massacre and all the following shoot ups. Written from thr mind of the murderer. Sad that they made any money off this. How long till this inspires the next one ? Songs about kids killing kids. Sad. See its not the gun doing the deed. Its the kids who are being indoctrinated by ths kind of poisonous catchy music. Why are kids shootng up schools? Because they are already troubled, This crap just lights the fuse. Its a very catchy, yet shitty tune.
Heywood Gillette Mi You don't understand the song do you? He specifically wrote this song to spark conversation and controversy about gun violence. This song doesn't encourage school shootings. That is an absurd claim to make.
So I was watching this interview of Foster, where he mentioned that.. 10 years before this live cover, he actually met the Weezer frontman at a party and played him an instrumental piece that he was working on (not this song).. they had a great chat and Rivers shared some of his song writing knowledge with foster. Then Foster acknowledged this live cover and said that it was a big moment in his life to have his song performed by Weezer.
Likewise. Also intense, heavy, music with lyrics that are down to earth, everyday types of issues. There's also music that has intensely different styles in the same song, or performances that don't match what you'd expect of the performers too. Hanabie are great for that, was so much fun when I clicked a suggested video to watch 'We love sweets'. It's also amazing how long some songs can be around with people(intentionally or not) oblivious to the lyrics. 'Born in the USA' is still used as a rah-rah song
Right? There's always people like that in concerts, it reminds me of the time when I went to a Placebo show, and when they finished, some girl said to her boyfriend: That girl was so charismatic, I loved the show! And he said: Girl...? That was Brian Molko... :D
thats the way! dont be ashamed to take the lyrics on stage XD i love how quirky and unprofessional they kinda look but theyre having a ton of fun and thats what is really important and theyre still doing their thing sooo friggin awesome
My god It's Johnny Knoxville doing pumped up kicks reading from a lyrics sheet like he was dared to. Hahahahaha! Oh wow.. Weezer are just all the awesome.. all of it.
I actually kinda love how he's reading from the lyric sheet. Its amazing how much it sounds like a song weezer would have put out way back during their height.
Weezer are proof that even Nerds, Geeks, Dorks, Social Misfits, Punks, Rejects, Losers and Outcasts can rock hard and still look cool and have credibility on stage or in real life 😍😎😇🌈🌅 Everyone deserves a chance to express themselves without judgement. Thats what being a real musician, entertainer or artists is all about.
I Love Weezer but I'm wondering why he didn't know the lyrics well if they really liked the song. There's not many words to remember. I knew em by heart the second or third time I listened to the song because I couldn't stop playing in my head. It's a song that just sticks with you if you really like it, you know? Ella Wakeman Facts
Ella Wakeman Why does that make it better? DO tell

It's hard to imagine a bigger compliment to a band than to have other major bands performing your song.
EGarrett01 i know, but it would be better if rivers actually memorized the lyrics
hes 40, and he does this all the time

True sign of respect
Pumped up kicks one of the biggest song in the past 8 years
This could definitely pass for a weezer song
Kelly Nguyen yes I am not the only one thank you
Kelly Nguyen I was thinking the same thing.
weezer sings about mass school shootings a lot then i assume? this song is about the columbine shooting if you didnt know...
+MrClockwork
Listen to "Lullaby for Wayne".
The lyrics are talking about a school shooter.
+MrClockWork It actually isnt, go look at the foster the people song story video they explain what the song really was about. The gun was a metaphor.
Rivers as he's reading the lyrics paper: *hold up*
Lol
This is actually what I'm thinking lmao
Should’ve recorded this for the Teal Album.
Would've been better than the majority of what that album was.
Yes!
I was hoping they would since they announced the album, just a bit disappointed.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

LMMFDO 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I see what you did there..... sneaky sneaky

I wish they would have actually recorded this
Download it. Copy this link :

Would've fit nicely on The Teal Album :/

haha i can see it too

What proves the fact that Rivers is an adorable dork is the fact that he has the lyrics right in his hands.

This is actually a great cover tbh
I love it so much
thx for being honest douche

It's because they switched songs. Weezer sang Pumped Up Kicks and FTP sang Say It Ain't So.
Earlier this year they did a similar thing with Toto, fyi (but you probably already knew that)
Fuck the pope?
@@BlainBoy39 no, foster the people smh
@@brittonkitten fuck the pope

this song is so good to begin with but the rock sound that weezer brings to it makes it sound great especially with the guitar solo at the end.
As a fan of both foster the people and weezer, I don't think I've ever seen anything more beautiful
and night in the woods I see :)
This was beautiful! 💙
I bet many people were thinking "Holy shit, i didnt know weezer sang that song"

personally, I think Rivers reading the lyrics here makes the performance better! it makes them feel like you don't have to be perfect to be in a band!
I bet 30 people at this event thought it was foster the people.

Thanks for putting this up. For sure I would never think of Weezer being a "cover band" but its pretty cool they did this.
What is this a crossover episode?
Rivers Cuomo is the most adorable person all over the world.
UA-cam recommendations in 2019. Who else?
Aircorn nobody cares
Granted I have been down a fairly arcane music rabbit hole. This song is finding Diamond Ore at the bottom of a cave.
Damn this song sounds so much better than it already does when rivers sings it omg
Amazing. This band is really talented.
*I really thought it was gonna be the Hannah Montana theme song at first...*
To be honest I think it KINDA sounds better than the original

Rivers actually wrote this song and handed it to Foster.
Fake, but it could be believed, heh.
Couldn't be believed cuz he fuckin had a lyric sheet
Felipe Bini I wouldn't believe so, if people did their research, they would know that Mark Foster wrote the song. All is needed is a wiki search.
Weezer did a better job of "Pumped Up Kicks" than Foster The People did of "Say it Ain't So".....
peteto1 Because Pumped up kids aint nothing special 🙄
Nah
much better than the original one
