One-week construction time-lapse with closeups: Week 59 of the Ⓢ-series

- Week 59 in the ongoing Ⓢ series, which follows the construction of a new 13-story senior living building in San Francisco. This is a #construction #timelapse with various closeups and "sub-time-lapses" at various speeds, condensing the week of March 15 - 21, 2021, into about 47 minutes.
This episode is a curtain wall panel extravaganza, as we see most of the new panels going in on the front curtain wall. After this episode, you will probably have had your fill of those panels! Naturally, there's work on "The Problem Corner". I threw in a little caulking, because we've always got to have some of that (and of course most of the clips also contain caulking somewhere within them). There's more leak testing, including, ironically on a rainy day -- the last rainy day that San Francisco will see for 37 straight days. We won't be seeing any more significant rain until Week 64.
On Thursday, Construction Watcher stops by for a visit, and gets his 15 seconds of fame.
There was no outside visible work on Saturday or Sunday, but the episode continues through to Sunday morning, when there was an unusual incident in the street in front of the site. Finally, at the end I threw in some unrelated, miscellaneous "bonus" clips, since the episode was fairly short.
Another "bonus" is that you can sometimes see the construction in the street reflected in the windows, making this sort of a "multi-layered" time-lapse, ha.
There is at least one editing mistake in this episode that I didn't catch until too late in the process to do anything about it. Oh well. There are mistakes in almost every episode, haha.
Hope you enjoy the episode!

Majestic Work !!!!!!
I like it
Hi it’s Stacie! Thank you so much for uploading this video! I love watching the guys work so hard! I also love the music! Take care!😁
Great and groovy music, had the toes tapping. Wonder it the van got stolen or the driver had a medical issue. Always enjoy the videos and can't wait for the next one.
I would like to join in with that, great music this time. Also hope that there was only sheet metal damage and no one was seriously injured. But also a lot of police in SF.
Excellent music
Good video
Hello Germany 🇩🇪 South East Missouri here 🙂
Hello Southeast Missouri, Greetings to you too.
Thank you
The three gentlemen in the side road are discussing their retirement applications and wondering which appartment they'll get. :D
Nice Work + Nice Music = Nice Episode
Great.
always nice to see what is going on with you so nice greetings from Germany
привет и еще раз спасибо за видео. Кейли.
OH OH OH. New .... caulking competitions Team L vs. Team R ;-) I think it will be a never ending story. ;-)
Whether you know that thousands of people around the world are accompanying you in your competition.
Ist die Handwerkskunst mit ihrem Latein am Ende, bringt das Silikon doch noch die Wende. 😜😆
most expensive facade in years with so much manual work....
Bad Job! Small Panel without insulation. see 10:30, Insulation full of Gaps . Could be done better.
One can see the sidewalk demolition and repair across the street from the reflection on the lower widows. We can watch two projects for the price of one.
23:45 Lets just say that the amount of caulking that they are using on this building is quite ridiculous. With a proper curtain wall system, there's no way they should need anywhere near that much.
great
At 23:41 -- marking the date the caulking was applied so they when know when to do it again, like an oil change in your car?
super
Good Lord!!! That was painful to watch, damn near 17 hours 3-5 guys working on those fascia panels and that’s all they accomplished?!!
For being pure esthetic, it sure isn’t an efficient system to install!
We know from many weeks ago, they were delayed because of a redesign. Why does the new design require so much on-site modification to the edges? And, it's a good thing there is no weather in San Francisco, so they won't notice all those holes in the insulation as they re-install it, as at 11:17 :-(
would have been better off installing windows and vinyl wrap them to look like metal. They would be done by now.
Thank you for the work done and interesting videos. In what program do you speed up the video?
For editing I use FCPX, Motion5, and Compressor
@@HospitalConstruction Thank you, is this for a macbook? You don't use Windows?
@@megadrive1249 Various Apple computers. No Windows.
@ Hospital Construction, @Construction Watcher "On Thursday, Construction Watcher stops by for a visit, and gets his 15 seconds of fame. " ;-) Nice, I'll wave you three back quickly. May one ask who is which of you?
I'll let @Construction Watcher point himself out if he wishes to...
I'd be the one in the tan coat and dark mask.
Thanks, Hospital Construction, for the 15 seconds of fame. :-)
@@constructionwatcher5381 Nice....:-) and thanks.
Those panels are perforated aren’t they? Isn’t it bad for the insulation to get wet?
I don't think so. Looks like a design only. No actual holes. Need a close up picture to be sure. 7:23
The panels at 30:11 are clearly different and seem to have holes.
I'm sure that is why they are doing the water testing for these panels.
Oh le meilleur pour la fin ... La brouette du gars a des heures de 'vol' 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
11 miles of masking tape (Blue) 868 tubes of Caulk, and that's just the front we are watching. What the hell is going on the sides we can't see. Very poorly designed building. Anything goes wrong, and the Architect will blame the poor workmen. This building will see persistent problems for ever!!!!!
agreed. but, that's California for you.
At 8:44 they forgot the insulation!
They sure did! I didn't notice when I watched it the first time.
@R L Why is the insulation useless?
@R L When you say "glass wall" are you talking about the glass in the window sections? Yes, I see that runs around R-2. But we're not talking about the glass sections, but the metal sections between the windows, so I don't see what the R value of the glass has to do with that. The insulation bats they are working with look like they are over an inch thick, maybe 2 inches. What I see says bats run R-3 or more per inch, so we have around R-6. We saw last week they also have fiberglass batts in the steel stud wall inside, though I couldn't tell how thick those walls were. But another two inches or so in the outer wall adds to whatever that provides.
Granted, the temperatures are generally mild there, but it does get cold enough to make heating necessary, and sometimes hot enough that cooling is probably necessary in a senior residential building.
Bravo la conduite des gars 👍👍c'est le Covid 🤡🤡🤡
It's a rough and sloppy job. This is surprising to be the world's largest GDP country.
... and I know filming is public view and all that, but peering into a toilet stall?? Going to get you in trouble?
You can't see anything unless someone left a door open, which they didn't. If they did, there's nearby buildings that they'd be in plain view of. Were you trying to see something??
@@HospitalConstruction 😁yeah no!!
