This was very honest and informative
Thank you
Watched until the end! Coming from “JJ Roberts Time”, but my first time commenting. And from the perspective of having moved away forty years plus, I enjoyed listening to you. I found your point of view informative, helpful, fun and well put together and said as are all of your other videos I have watched! 👏🏾👏🏾
Eloquent and a breath of fresh air. I following
Thank you!
I honestly can’t wait to finish my tiny house. Because when I’m done I will be leaving America for at least a year to rest and enjoy Liberia. Very informative video 😊
This is great feedback for us in the diaspora thinking of making transitions. Much appreciated ❤
Thank you! I hope it helps.
Thanks for sharing this info, especially for my upcoming trip to Lib.@SheSpeaksToo
Been here over a month and couldn't agree more with everything you've said. With the issue of the ATM, i setup mobile money and i send wave myself 🤣... The fee isn't bad and I have my money changer guy..
Hmm, I keep hearing about sendwave. I might try that myself.
Great information! Will be staying for a while with my 5 year old. 😀 ❤
That's great!
Excellent information I’ve been to Liberia three times and I know exactly what you’re talking about.
Glad you found it helpful!
Agree with you 💯
Good to see you back😊 I visited home last October, and I spent so much money (on what? I don't even know)! I was so mad I told my family I'm not going back😂
I used sendwave to send money to myself after the cash I took ran out.
Haha lol Liberia will frustrate you!
Quite an informative video! Interesting insights, some very subjective, admittedly. Thanks a bunch. For a guy who hasn't lived in Liberia for a time span closing in on four decades, this was hugely helpful and realistic, as opposed to a travelogue.
Hi sis welcome back I’m happy you are back.
Thank you! It's good to be back.
Happy to hear from you again. Happy and a prosperous new year! Thanks for the update. We appreciate you. ❤ always.
Thank you! Happy New Year to you as well!
Wow, my sisters and I just wondered about you today since we are currently visiting Liberia. Thanks for the video. All facts
Glad to see you comment!
Excellent information about the pros and cons of both countries.
Thanks Sis!
@SheSpeaksToo You're welcome sis!
You got me on that one. Palm butter!!!
This is a beautiful video ❤
Thank you!
Happy new year Joy..Sorry i lie..😂
Great to see you back..❤❤
Excellent, informative video, Joyce. I was in Liberia for 8 months (Jan-Sept. 2024). All points are truthful and well covered. Especially being ! 👍🏽
A suggestion: I have a bank account with IB, but due to all the high fees, I used Send wave to transferred money (up to $1000) from my US account to me. (fees are cap @$10) However, I always had cash for just in case. Ex: March 2024, the internet was completed down in Liberia for days. Could not transferred money from Send wave to my Lone Star account. Having cash tucked away was a blessing.
In total agreement with you…Semi-permanent in both countries with God’s permission. Thanks again.💫👍🏽🌟🙏🏽
Very informative. Thanks for sharing
Thank you!
Happy new year my sister. I'm glad to see you back!
Happy New Year!
Thanks for the information beautiful! Hopefully I will be ready to visit Liberia 🇱🇷 by God’s grace! When I became a citizen 10 years ago, I thought I will! I am a proud Liberian and African in America 🇺🇸, but there is something holding me back. Most of my siblings and my mother who have visited the united state ,retire and are living well in Liberia 🇱🇷 .
That's ok I will visit only I cannot stay there, I can stay in another African country not Liberia, Happy New year and thanks for the info. it's too stressful especially the banking and health care system, I can't
Long time...
Glad to see you back
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year! Welcome back!!!🎉
Happy New Year to you too! 🎉
I've been watching your videos 📹 you're awesome👌
Thank you!
@SheSpeaksToo welcome huni
Sis, you are on point about our Liberia. Another thing I noticed from my experience is some like clicks. Acting like they are elites in that poor Country. When I see them I just laugh. 😊
Sis Norma: Noticed that too. Very clickish. But Joy hits the nail on its head: everyone is acting busy, makes you wonder if they’re really thriving. 😅 I just want to hang out and visit me people. I don’t want anything from them in Liberia, other than visits. I’m good! 😂
No comparison to the food in Liberia at all. I had palm butter, and was so glad our daughter got to see the palm nuts being beaten, and palm butter cooked fresh. Nothing beats that taste.
The fufu tastes amazing in Liberia too. Everything is so fresh and no health issues eating rice.
@ , yes oh my Sis. We just try to enjoy ourselves at home and come back to our hustle and bustle in America. Some of them will not even look for you while you are there. Blessings ❤️
@@normagibsontv9797That’s it! 😂They will stay long insah in LIB. 😂
@normagibsontv9797 And those are the same people who usually ask when you are coming back home(Liberia) for to see you.😅
Welcome back "she speaks too".
Thank you!
Do you know what I love about you? You always do your restitution without delay. I love that...
Happy New Year!
"can you imagine chasing a Liberian man for your rent" OMG the trauma 😂😂😂😂😂 the relevance, the audacity 😅hmmmm
Hahaha!!!!
Hey Joy, long time oh..This Hemesheme...It's been a while since I commented on your channel but this time I like the subject you chose...Now a better question is one I been asking myself since 2008 when I moved to Caldwell from the US is..Can I luve in Liberia without the US..? The answer is HELL NO !!😊
. To me if you move somewhere, then you moved on supposedly but that's not the case with LIB...Life is stress free in Liberia if you got your stuff together but truth be told..It's not growing..People see new buildings that people put up and consider that progress or development but I don't consider that development..Development is not only structures but a new plan a direction by the administration. Aka Government & President, a growing mindset of the people to move forward to better days and truth be told that doesn't and hasn't happened...So like you said you have to do both but with that how can Liberia even be compared to USA in living..? if you need to keep a hand holding on to the US then Liberia isnt enough... Would you give up life period in the US..? NO but there was a time you did give up life in Here at home in Liberia..So it is clear life is better in the US if u can't let it go.. Can life be much much better home with LIB of course but we're not there because the commitment and most importantly the sacrifice isn't there to make with all of us who has had the privilege to see and learn a different way but don't or didn't bring those ideas home like in many other African countries... We build our house and our small business to benefit us but not the country..Hopefully DJ Blu will become President one day and since his eyes has seen a different way there will start to be a better way because he is making the sacrifice to change administration not just build for self enjoyment.. I hope you understand... I love the points you spoke on...Thanks sis..
My niece calls it fully funded friends 😂😂😂
Look!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Haha your niece is correct!
I was in Liberia September of last year and I used my ATM card and withdrew $500 USD at a time and the surcharge was $12 USD
Wow housing can be expensive o. Great content. Do you have any recommendations for places 200-600 per month?
Thank you! There are apartments and homes around paynesville, Duport Road, and RIA for that price. One of the groups I follow on fb "jomell apartments 4 rent" can be helpful. But as with everything, do your due diligence.
@ okay, thank you very much
Liberia is expensive!
very informative.
I’m glad you found it helpful.
The distance between Liberia 🇱🇷 and USA is just opportunities
So true!
Thank you
Thank you for watching!
We missed!!!!
Happy New Year!
Happy to see you back, missed your videos. Happy New Year.
Thank you so much! Happy New Year to you too!
Longtime from Boston
Happy New Year!!!
Thanks. I'll only visit.
It is definitely a different experience living here compared to the US.
How about data analytics, social worker, government employee……..
Thanks for watching!
Data analytics for which company, doing what? I don't see a great demand for that yet in Liberia. Social workers are usually employed by the state or in Liberia's case, the government. I don't see that as a viable option, as that is not field that is widely used in Liberia. Also, a government employee is such a broad term. Even the president is considered a government employee. Which government employee?
Uba bank, you can get 400.00 for $5
Using which type of ATM card?
The people who have never been to Liberia since 19 whoo whoo wanna come for you and you have to reply to them? you better do our Video so we can listen and learn from you, respectfully!!!!
Lol 19 whoo whoo for true! Happy New Year, my Brother!
I heard that they become friends with you to use you. Phony and fake as hell! Joy, you are so pretty!
Great advice! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
That is soooo true for some.
Awww thank you so much! And Happy New Year!
