  • Here we see some trains in the evening at Wrexham General [WRX] on Friday 24/05/2019.
Featured are 3 TfW liveried 158s, DB 66089 carrying the EWS livery, Colas 37521 & 37610 plus some 150s and 175010.
    Interesting workings:
66089 working 630Y 1029 Margam T.C. to Dee Marsh Recp. Sdgs,
    37s working 175I 1456 Tyseley L.M.D. to Derby R.T.C.(Network Rail),
158841 working 1B01 1737 Liverpool Lime Street to Wrexham General & 1B06 1909 Wrexham General to Liverpool Lime Street.
158841 was on the new direct Liverpool Lime Street workings over the Halton Curve. We see the unit arrive and terminate from Lime Street before working 5F45 1852 Wrexham General to Wrexham General empty stock via the loop at Croes Newydd to turn around. These services started with the timetable changes at the start of the same week.
Unfortunately I did not see the logs that day due to late the late running (I believe they eventually passed over 2 hours late).
    Hope you enjoy.

Thanks. That was a good evening at Wrexham General. It can be good if you choose the right day, especially if there's a test train as well! :)

@@Meengineer100 I always thought it was a bit quiet station

@@SionsTrainVideos It is usually, mainly because the silly single track bridge on the section between Chester and Wrexham, but on weekday evenings you could get a test train and a couple of freights all in maybe around 2 hours. The cement workings to Penyffordd restarted this year and there's also steel from Shotton and logs from Carlisle to Chirk. They can't fit many more passenger services because of the single line than what is on the full timetable in the evening.

@@SionsTrainVideos Test trains are the best. Sadly Network Rail are planning to get rid of all loco hauled test trains in the next few years replacing them with MPV style things. :'( Get them whilst you can I guess. It's annoying how everything has to change to units, I wouldn't be surprised if they come up with freight units or container units or something silly like that.

Excellent video! What do you think of the TfW livery?

Cheers. I think it looks brilliant on the 158s but not so good on the 175s. I hope they do a special livery for the mk4s when they come in.
