  • So getting PIP with a mental health diagnosis and nothing else on your record just mental health is actually really hard
And historically it was even harder
So I want to talk about some of the ways that you can answer the questions and questions you can ask yourself in order to improve your chances of getting PIP
So this is in no way an advice video in terms of like I am not qualified to make this advice I am going off all of my personal experience
    When I applied for PIP
PIP said it is not about the diagnosis
Hello, my name is Deeanna and I make mental health and self-improvement videos. I myself have struggled with mental health difficulties and I really want to be able to help others to feel less alone.
Another thing I want to be able to achieve is to spread awareness and knowledge about mental health to help others understand.

    FAQ:
    What diagnosis do you have?
Currently, I have Complex PTSD (primary diagnosis) and Borderline Personality Disorder as a secondary diagnosis. I am also on the waiting list to be assessed for ASD conditions, such as autism and ADHD.
What made you want to start UA-cam:
I've wanted to be on UA-cam for a while but when the pandemic hit and I had more time on my hands this allowed me to try UA-cam and see how it goes.

If you have genuine mental health, it is hard.

@DeeannaLouise Well, for me and for the Army personnel that I served with, didn't need advice to be successful in claiming a war pension and/or PIP. We went to the tribunal or assessment and were honest. All I'm saying is that people who have genuine mental health don't find it hard to prove themselves. It's emotionally hard and distressing having to talk about stuff you don't want to. I didn't have to say much because I had over 700 pages of medical paperwork, 6 therapist/support/doctors. You telling people how to play the system makes it easier for dishonest people to take advantage.
PS, I didn't say you weren't being genuine

@@LovelyFishyFish it's not playing the system, it's just saying what evidence they can collect to show PIP. Some people with certain conditions or someone claiming PIP for the first time may not know what can be given as evidence. I myself found knowing what I could and couldn't give as evidence very confusing the first time I applied.

I reckon making a video on how you felt or what the place/assessor was like. Did they make you feel comfortable etc. I know it would be beneficial for me to understand that and put me at ease. Just an opinion 🤷
