@@ClaytonandAlan I understand. Season 3 was quite different. Almost like a different show entirely. That's a hard change to swallow for a kid, and just being an "adult" doesn't change the psychological impact it had. It feels empty without all the old characters. That's what happens when you kill off a whole team to sell toys, I guess.
@@Leondrius and the only piece of comedy it has was the dinobots. They never brought back the humor of the exact autobots in this video. It's a shame that aches your stomach and it aches emotionally not because of ourselves but the show makers
the characters from Bayformers that died wasn't really all that sad because they barely had any screen time or character development. (the ones that I think we're sad were Ratchet and Ironhide)
I don’t think smokescreen was killed off because we saw him the Japanese sequel The Headmaster
I almost forgot about Brawn, Prowl, Wheeljack, and Windcharger.
I can still remember when I 1st saw Wheeljack's body on the ground. 1 of the saddest moments of my life.

well in an original script now that I've found it sunstreaker and hound were torn apart by the sweeps like ultra magnus in the autobot city aftermath their peaces later fell on blaster warpath and beeachcomber

wow i didn't think it moved people like the song did to me...thnx so much! :D yeah, i went on transformers wikipedia and they said there were more off-line deaths and they originally were killing off smokescreen (instead of wheeljack, but they had to be cruel), red alert, and trailbreaker i think it was. someone else told me that mirage was killed by bombshel in some deleted scene or something (kinda ironic cause i was just watching the episode Traitor the other day). it's really depressing..
I think Ratchet and Ironhide's deaths hit me hardest. I loved them both so much...heck, I love them in like every Transformers continuity. The fact that they died so quickly, with no time to accept it or anything, is really painful. I mean, they killed off like all of my favorite Autobots in that movie...

They made a big mistake killing off the 18 auto bots that died. And yes I am aware they were trying to make money for new toys. But what really upsets me is that they killed most of the popular characters. Like Wheeljack, Ratchet, Optimus. Optimus kept dying and coming back to life, which I think is pretty dumb. They didn't kill bumble bee at least. He was a very very popular character. I think he is just as popular as Optimus. If not more. Brone was sort of popular. Iron hide was popular too. Brone died because why? He got hit in the shoulder by Starscream! Really people? That's why most of the people probably didn't like the movie from 1986.

You know this is happy & sad because even though jazz survived the attack in the movie in 1986 but its sad because Scatman Crothers(jazz's voice actor) died about three months after the movie came out cause i didn't know the brother was sick the part that gets me is this dude continued to work even in his life threatening illness until the very end Scatman Crothers RIP (1910-1986) you brought so much joy to kids around the country voicing the most popular autobot ever....

This is sad can we just have a moment for the auto bots that went down fighting and that is the way we should remember them all the good and not the bad we should always have a spot in our heart even the most non fighting ones. Also have a moment for the worriers and they would most definitely would want to go down fighting. Lastly have a moment for the Autobot leader and really did secede in protecting the humans and really did defeat the most weakest (starscream) to the most strongest (Devastator and Megatron)

@grimmzombie there was an episode in season 3 where you can see him...it's either an animation error or he refuses to be dead...lol! same thing with Windcharger.
Fun fact : when Springer was walking down the stairs wheeljack's color became like smokescreen's because it was supposed to be smokescreen not wheeljack. :))

i found it on wikipedia, which probably came from another source from the movie. It told of the autobots who were presumed dead, but the others (such as Inferno, Skids, Grapple, etc remained unknown as to whether or not they died)
I remember watching Bluestreak's death in the movie in 1986. I was 14 but it still horrified me to see fiery smoke billowing from his mouth as he died. Ironhide was literally blown apart by Megatron who was standing right over him, his arm cannon aimed right at Ironhideas head. But they didn't show him being blown apart. But for me, Bluestreak's death was horrible.
Locktwiste72 it was Prowl, not Bluestreak. Bluestreak was killed at lookout Mountain, along with Huffer, Trailbreaker and maybe Hound. In the japanese version of the movie Bluestreak took Prowls spot

What happened to Tracks, Hoist, Inferno, Smokescreen, Bluestreak, Sideswipe, Sunstreaker, Cosmos, Seaspray, PowerGlide, Skyfire(Jetfire), Omega Supreme, Arial Bots, Snarl (brief appearance), Warpath, Beach comber and others?

Guys, maybe they are still alive. I mean, in the comics it said that transformers only permanently die if the control chips are destroyed. Like Gears, he survived that big fall in marvels Transformers issue 3. Its because his brain chip was still functioning. I didn't see anyone get blasted in the head. So maybe they still live. I mean come on. Watch the series and you would find out how bad the injuries are. Then compare them to the movie and you will find the bull crap behind this.
Megatron shot ironhide's head. Prowl, brawn and ratchet were in the shuttle when hot rod blew it up. Huffer was confirmed dead in the show. Trailbreaker, smokescreen and wheeljack were all mangled corpses. No way any of them survived
But Hot Rod did not blow up the shuttle. It crashed.

A lot of the story boards were cut out of the movie so A lot of the Autobots and Decepticons weren't in the movie and Mirage, Red Alert, Trailbreaker and Bluestreak are alive but may have been elsewhere during the battle.
Red alert died in a comic that show other events during the movie

I had four favourites and I saw 2 of them die in the ship(prowl and ironhide) and then one get thrown into space(skywarp). Only swoop survived.
@xXxMAGNUSxXx123 there are scripts in which he and others died, but they weren't added to the film. Since they were written to die, and didn't show up in the rest of the show, it's safe to presume they died.
All of the autobots exept for brawn, prowel, ratchet, irornhide, huffer, wheeljack, and windcharger are alive. Those other characters' deaths were in the storyboard but wre not in the script. And they were never animated so they didn't happen. (In case you didn't know huffer's death was confirmed in "Dark Awaking")
As far as I am concerned, only 7 Autobots died in this movie! Brawn, Prowl, Ratchet, Ironhide, Windcharger, Wheeljack and Optimus Prime. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE IN THE MOVIE TO SHOW THAT ANYMORE AUTOBOTS DIED!!!!

I love the video, really sad; the music and clips go well. I know it was only a cartoon but these were all great characters and they were all heroes and were all tragically killed by the evil decepticons.
Red Alert is shot in the back after Ultra Magnus and some others take down Devastator. The Constructicons kill him as the autobots retreat. Smokescreen is killed offscreen, but he was originally supposed to be beside Windcharger when the Wheeljack and Windcharger are dragged into a room by Arcee.
@PFM719 I know. Even in the film by Michael Bay, they killed Jazz. Why is it mainly Autobots dying. They didn't get a second chance but the Decepticons did with meeting Unicron.

Its because when Japan made their own continuity of the series, they were unaware that Wheeljack and the others died in the movie. So they still appeared in TF Victory.
Not all of the Autobots in this video were killed in the movie. Some of them just never showed up in the series again. The confirmed Autobot casualties are Brawn, Prowl, Ratchet, Ironhide, Windcharger, Wheeljack, Huffer (off-screen) and Optimus Prime. The only Decepticon to truly die was Starscream (although he has an indestructible spark). The rest were reformatted by Unicron. There are storyboards that show some other characters dying, but they never made it into the film.

Some of the scenes planned were never made. The storyboards (which may still be online) show that the battle for autobot city was meant to be longer.

John Allen Rodimus didn't cause Optimus' death. Hot Rod did. Plus it was an accident. Optimus wouldn't hold it against him (though he might have reprimanded him about being more levelheaded and focused in battle), so why should we?

The thing is, when I first saw this on DVD I was only 7. And the only Autobot apart from Prime I knew on this list was Ironhide.
Something to note is that only Ironhide, Ratchet, Prowl, Wheeljack, Windcharger, Huffer, and Red Alert are confirmed to be 100%, no doubt about it dead. Brawn's continued existence is a matter of personal canon and still of vigorous debate, the unanimated storyboards don't count as canon material, Beachcomber's death is seen only in the IDW Adaptation, and any other kills are pure speculation.
As for those who *were* killed in the movie, Ironhide, Ratchet, and Prowl all return in one way or another. In Wings Universe (basically G1 toon continuity with a few very minor differences), Prowl and Ironhide are revived as clones, and Ratchet appears again in Descent Into Evil, a comic with debatable place in canon set during the Beast Era.
Furthermore, Ironhide, Prowl, and Silverbolt are all seen acting as the leaders of the Maximal Imperium during the Beast Era, appearing in IDW prominently and as Magnaboss (their combiner form) in the 3H comics, both separate adaptations of Beast Era lore.
So overall, if you view Wings Universe and Beast Era lore as part of the G1 toon continuity (Wings Universe is literally stated as 'nearly-identical' and official timelines state the Beast Era as part of G1 toon lore), then the only absolutely, positively confirmed permanent casualties are Windcharger, Huffer, Red Alert, and Wheeljack.
Not bad, all told.
The movie not only "killed" many Autobots... Decepticons were changed and the series were never, ever the same again. Even the toyline changed a bit... They were killed as well.....:(
@Mistercharming Smokescreen was supposed to be the one dead beside Windcharger it was an error. Red Alert in the original storyboards was shot in the back by the Constructicons
@darkness442003 well....he's not dead in the movie. In fact, I don't even think he's in the movie at all. He's "off-screen", meaning he was killed off in the movie (story-line wise) but you don't see him.
@intokulmusic101 Mirage attacked the Insecticon Bombshell, but was then blasted from behinde from Megatron. Red Alert was killed in a deleted scene that definietly happened as right at the end of the story board which he dies it shows Optimus approaching Megatron from behinde as Megatron was watching on , which happened in the movie.

And if you look closely at the scene when Bumblebee and Spike almost get dropped into the boiling pot thing, you see Beachcomber right in front! If you notice, Spike barely misses being killed, so I'm afraid Beachcomber didn't make it :*(

I read that there was another script, where all the originals except Jazz, bumblebee and cliffjumper were to die, but then they changed their minds as it would be too much for the kids to take, It was to show that Megatron killed Mirage, but after Mirage shot bombshell in the back, Tracks, Red Alert and Inferno get destroyed by Devastator, and Trailbreaker was just shown to be dead on a pile of rubble, It is on here somewhere, with pre movie story board too
Your half right about that.they did make a bluestreak toy, but they were all just repaints of Prowl.
No doubt the deaths of these autobots and Optimus Prime's death in the 1986 film is what probably led to the TF Generation 1 show down fall and with season 4 having only 3 episodes, that really sucks. That not fair that more autobots were killed not decepticons in the 1986 movie. The screenwriters should get a swift kick to their asses.

If you don't believe me that's fine but I know tracks sideswipe smokescreen/wheeljack and red alert were killed by devastator because of deleted story boards from other UA-cam channels I saw also Magnus helped and when we got mp22 how come tracks smokescreen sideswipe and red alert were on his trailer on the packaging. To recreate the scene of what Was going to happen also skids must have died in the movie as well

To think, so e people put together a cartoon that was so well written that well over a quarter a century later it still moves some adults to tears. When they think of the deaths of various characters they liked. The transformers g1 have reached legendary status at this point. People really care about these characters. You only see that level of dedication with stuff like star wars, marvel and star trek, etc.. Optimus represents so much more than just a cartoon character. In a way he is an ideal of the nobility of men. What all men want or would like to be. For me the greatest tf scene was in the first episode. When mirage said “ perhaps we should let megatron have the earth” maybe we should just go back to cybertron”, then huffer said, “ we are not fighters like they are prime”. Primes response, “ we must not fear the danger we must conquer it.”
That brings me to tears every time.
My guess at all Autobots killed off either before or during the movie - Optimus Prime, Brawn, Prowl, ratchet, Ironhide, Wheeljack, Windcharger, Smokescreen, Mirage, Huffer, Hound, Red Alert, Inferno, Trailbraker, Skids, Gears, Beachcomber, Quickswitch, Skyfire, Hubcap

It's a shame to think back how the autobots got decimated but the decepticons suffered just a few losses... BIG Losses.. Megatron, Starscream, etc... but NOTHING like what the Autobots suffered.... that always ticked me off!
Actually Wheeljack wasn't intended to die. That scene in which his corpse appears with Wincharger's was a mistake by an animator. Another autobot who was supposed to appear there in his stead, but I forgot who exactly since I read about it.
@LRPFilming I read somewhere that Shockwave was supposed to have been killed during Unicron's attack on Cybertron. Also it's kind of weird that the Decepticon Jets Thrust, Dirge and Ramjet are seen being killed but they show up in season three still alive.
I don’t recall Mirage, Trailbreaker and smokescreen dying in the movie.
they where planned to die but was cut and there deaths where in storyboards
I bought Prowl for my 5yesr old kid without knowing his fate. He saw this on UA-cam and quickly recognized him.... He told me: But they killed Prowl. I got to give him a speech of how he stand and fought with, honor, courage and dignity for his friends.

@tfhunt From what i found out about trailbreaker on wiki an early scene drawing or a deleted scene that he was one of the g1 autobot deaths in the movie as wiki states that trail breaker is found dead somewhere in autobot city he might have been found in the same room in autobot city where the bodies of smokesceen,windcharger etc, were found for one thing i know that i heard that inferno met his untimely demise as well in the G1 movie....

Why does wikipedia says that Smokescreen is still alive and Mirage and Trailbreaker are unknown. I can't reconcile about that deaths and it's cartoon, i just can't.

@PFM719 I understand that but there's only 1 picture of Bluestreak and I just thought he was mistaken for Prowl that's all. And like I mentioned earlier, I didn't see his name mentioned in Barbaro267's list of Autobots killed in the video description,...

when i saw the transformers moive i cried when prowl, ratchet, ironhide, and wheeljack died
