Seeing the Blasters perform was an exceptional pleasure that we just didn't comprehend at the time. This should have about a 100 million views. Just perfection.
+Geoff Gowans Jeff........this is not a cover......Dave Alvin (guitarist) of the Blasters wrote this song and the Blasters recorded it, originally. The Blasters were long time friends with Dwight Yoakam, since the days, when Dwight would open their West Coast shows and so, later in the '80s, Dwight COVERED the song , well indeed and I'm sure, Dave Alvin was very pleased, when the royalty checks would show up in his mail box.

Couldn't agree more!!
This is so damn good.
No one could sing like Phil.
Horton heat had Alvin as a guest last night in Jersey City HELL of a show.
I got to shake Phil Alvin's hand before they took the stage on a rainy night in Cleveland. What a show a long time ago...
This band sounds even better than I remembered when I first heard the song I think it was late 80's. Incredible overdrive playing, rockin' wild men.
Best live performance online available of that song as far as i know. that bass line.... goose bumps....
they should be bigger.
I, too, read that DaveAlvin wrote this song for the Blasters and Dwight Yoakam played it also.
The best hillbilly band on the planet their music get's the blood flowing especially wen it's minus 40 below weather up here in NBC Canada country
The Blasters Rule............'Merican Treasures!
Dwight yoakam nails that song

I came here for the Boyd Crowder comments
Please explain this reference. Love the song and the character
@@benlichtman8033 the lead singer has an uncanny resemblance to the character Boyd Crowder, played by Walton Goggins.
This sounds great! They took a live version off Spotify which had excellent guitar fills for nothing!
Americana at its finest.
Dave Alvin's most popular song. Dwight Yoakam does a great cover.
