- SCP 001 is an anomaly also known as Overlord Censure.
SCP-001 is a human who exhibits varying temporal properties.
SCP 001 will only respond positively if referred to by Foundation personnel as ‘the Founder [of the Foundation].’1 If referred to by its SCP designation, SCP001 will become irritated and will refuse to speak to offending personnel indefinitely; to date, SCP-001 has never forgotten an infringement.
SCP-001 is immortal, and does not age. Although SCP-001 can be physically damaged and will heal at an appropriate rate for a mundane human, its longevity enables it to recover from more severe injuries if given sufficient time to do so.
SCP-001 is capable of accurately and precisely predicting future events. It is currently believed that SCP-001 is not inducing these events to occur; all events described by SCP-001 have, at the time of description, inevitably become impossible to avert or alter.
SCP-001 supports the containment and analysis of anomalous phenomena, but insists that it must be released from containment or allowed to construct a device of unclear function; SCP-001 refuses to allow the mentioned device to be constructed by any other individuals.
SCP-001 was initially contained by the founding Overseer Council shortly following the establishment of the Foundation.

Never a dull moment.
If you ignore the ultra-secrecy, the likelihood of workplace death, and the possibility of an inadequate pay check (if how much Foundation employees get paid has ever been explained?), then it'd be a pretty sweet job. 👍

That's kinda the point. If we knew everything about them, there'd be nothing left to fear. The point is that these things are "Secured, Contained, and Protected."
Once you give it defined rules, and understand how it works it's not scary anymore. Could it be the real founder? Sure! but why can't he change the predictions, but one he can? Why are details left out? its the mystery that keeps it interesting.

Whatever @blanknull5188 said plus if you try to connect different stories, especially the ones by the same author or those written in collaboration and coordination with each other, you can find the pattern - the grand design.

Ok so this SCP-001 is literally the same as another SCP-001 (The Black Moon)
They both cant die,made The Foundation and knew that a big danger is coming
I am considering it the exact same guy too. he knows everything thats going to happen cause when he reset the universe it played out the exact same way. The black moon is returning and he needs to make his Machine again to defeat it.

Without going into specifics, this 001 ends on a more sour note than the Black Moon. Time travel is involved, and it's worth noting that this video is a part 2, with part 1 being another timeline called HATED CAESAR.

If someone was put in the Clockworks, I think that the person would become Dr.Manhattan. Maybe.
This was easily the best episode I've seen in a while. Very engaging story and it left room for so much more to come. Very excited to see the follow-up of this.
I think the founder ran out of that room so Andrea wouldn't feel like her death was in vain. He knew he'd never make it out. But he knew she would die either way. So instead of letting her die hopeless, he ran. Just so she would see him try. He's immortal and knows he has time before what ever it is happens so why not sacrifice some of that time to let a woman who's gonna die no matter what, die happy, with hope in her last moments.

or it is inherently evil and is able to cause these disastrous events if someone hears its prediction, and it uses its abilities to bring chaos and suffering to everyone around it
It also may not be able to directly view things related to itself in the future so it’s escape Couldnt been but the catastrophe could be seen since it didn’t just affect him

It’s either the following which End-of-the-World Scenario he is “attempting” to prevent:
• The Scarlet King, who shares similar properties of fate because the more attention you pay attention to the Scarlet King, his influence increases because your interference made it worse, but allowing his atrocities spreads his influence regardless
• The Black Moon, which I believe this is the strongest case due to the amount of allegories and references to this particular SCP-File as well as the Administrator in this respective universe, who was successful at his mission, however the outcome is still unknown, awesome ending, but still bitter-sweet
• When Day Breaks, although imo it’s the weakest possibility as he doesn’t explicitly state exactly how the world ends, refusing to elaborate or explain and there is no evidence or suggestions that The SCP-Foundation “cured” the sun with a device or super-advanced technology
• The Devourer of Worlds, however, the same issues as above as its purpose is to consume reality, so any device would only salvage a fraction of that said reality into another dimension, collapse and scatter survivors into pocket-dimensions, or restart time and recreate reality in a timeloop

I have a feeling that Devourer of the Worlds is Scarlet King's physical form, given the chains and the ritual chant (Seven seals, seven rings, seven thrones for Scarlet King). Maybe it's also some sort of leftover shell left by Scarlet King (like Ten Tailed Beast from Naruto becoming the Gedo Statue)

I like this SCP cause he's mysterious. IMO it sounds like he is not omnipotent, but can only predict the futures of people he interacts with. By interacting with the researcher, he knew he would get the code to escape but did not know the guards would fire at him. Therefore, he could not forsee a dangerous entity in the future that would threaten humanity if he never interacted with it before. It sounds like he fabricated being the founder to try to gain people's trust so he can build a machine to escape the foundation

Its stated in the video that the researchers noted that he already knew he would be fired at when escaping, but he still did it

@egggrenared yeah because he can see disasters in the future if they have an impact on the individual he interacts with. If there was an end of the world scenario that would mean every person he interacted with would have the same fate (assuming they died from the end of the world scenario and not any other way). This would make sense, but he cannot process hypothetical situations, so by claiming there is a reality where he builds a machine to save everyone is a lie. If he could process hypothetical he would know which escape attemps would fail. So it's pretty obvious he is lying to escape but can you blame him? He was cursed with immortality and punished to eternity in prision for it
Then how could he predict entire baseball games?
This really reminds me of scp 9341 aka the inteligent and clever man they all have the same abilities being immortal and being able to predict the future but for scp 9341's case he can manipulate the future because scp 9341 is the player

If I recall correctly there's an SCP-001 proposal (or another SCP) where WE are the SCP and the O5 Council is trying their best but futile attempts at trying to kill us, beings outside of their influence

It's a grey area. In the end of the video it states he knew that his escape would fail, but not when he would escape or be let out. So it didn't know Andrea would release him from his cell, until the action was in motion, then he probably saw the future that moment.
001 never fails to captivate me .
Only he can change the outcomes of his predictions. If he tells anyone else they become a fixed point. Futility horror can be great, very twilight zone. Because he can't tell anyone if he wants to be able to change the outcome, they'll think he's crazy and be kept from doing it.
Nearly to the end of the vid, it feels like this is an alternate telling of the Black Moon proposal, with the Administrator being an immortal anomaly on a mission to stop... something using a... vague deus ex machina
I reason to suspect this "great thing he not tells but could fix with a machine" is when day breaks, and the device is a cure to the transformation and the inability to transform into the weird sludge monsters if not transformed yet.
Man, this REALLY feels like "I've got the seedling of a cool idea - but I really don't know how to end it...or resolve any plot hooks I put out there"

I was thinking that whenever he says a prediction, it going to happen because he made it happen. But as soon as Andrea said the password and he 'seen' that future, then I'm not so sure about that theory. Unless, of course, he predicted that it would happen and it happened.

I had a dream last night that I was stuck in a house with over 2 dozen SCPs trying to get me and I just kept my eyes on the ground with my hand hovering over my eyes so I can't see straight and I just kept running in front of scp-096 while avoiding his face and the other SCPs chasing me kept accidentally seeing his face and shy guy kept killing them for me. It was a pretty cool exploit!

This seems to pretty well follow the story of The Black Moon as well. With the event and all, but I’m just confused about if it is the same founder or not.
And imagine something not happening at a scp containment facility they would likely be very scared if something didn't happen for a long period of time

I believe the failed attempts purpose was to instill the idea to others that it needed to be free, an idea so strong that it will end up in him being free in the future.
I keep seeing these videos in my recommended. What does SCP stand for? And did this channel copy Infographics style or vice versa?
SCP stands for Secure Contain Protect. I believe Infopraphic. Show owns this channel, but unsure.
This gives the feeling of that one SCP, I think it was called A Sheef Of Paper, or something like that that listed SCPs and their location before the SCP foundation had ever found them and the SCP foundation used to find new SCPs.
I say this because a theory proposed about it, and the reason they stopped using it, was that it was manifesting the SCPs when it was read, so those SCPs didn't exist until someone read about them from the papers.
I'm assuming a theory the foundation has about this SCP is it doesn't predict the future so much as manifests it when it talks about what it has seen, and as such thy don't want it saying anything.

The thing with the daughter getting hit by a bus. I did have an idea. If they find out the exact day and time, what if they booked a 24 hour flight beforehand? There would quite literally be no way for her to be hit by a bus at that time.

So his cells make him immortal and he can predict the future, there's a theory consisting of all time happening at once, he could be gazing at all time at once due to the gift of being immortal
