- You're currently tuning into a preset-by-preset demo of Luftrum 28, featuring 75 meticulously crafted synth presets by Luftrum. Can you guess which synth they're designed for? Drop your guess in the comments below. On September 14, we'll pick one lucky winner from the correct answers to receive a license for both the synth and the soundbank. Let's kick off the guessing game!
With deep roots in both the past and the future, Luftrum 28 builds upon its lineage of soundsets, featuring rich bioluminescent pads, expressive poly synths, and legendary classic emulations.
Drawing inspiration from a mix of genres, Luftrum 28 paints a tribute to a diverse range of artists, from Vangelis and Jon Hopkins to Madonna, Boards of Canada, and Imagination while serving as a fertile ground for new, innovative sounds.

The winner is found and the mystery synth is now revealed! So many of you had impressive guesses and it's clear why many thought it might be Pigments or Hive, for very obvious reasons, but it's neither of those. Nor is it Omnisphere, Diva, or Zebra. Only a few zeroed in on the actual synth which is...

The funny thing is that by now I would recognize Luftrum's presets rather than the synth in a comparison. That means even if you don't recognize the synth, you usually recognize an Luftrum preset. But in this case, after comparing some videos on UA-cam, I suspect Pigments!?

Do you do new soundbanks to synths you've made for before? It reminds me of some Waldorf Iridium stuff, so that's my guess! Especially as they just released new firmware haha!

I wish that it was Pigments, because I have that one and it's one of my favorite synths. However, it doesn't sound like any of my plug-ins. Therefore, I'm going to guess that it's made by U-He and it's probably Hive.
Hoping it's Pigments so I can actually buy one of your banks. Been listening jealously to your Omnisphere and Serum banks for a while now despite not owning either synth!

This sounds quite a bit like Halion 7 to me. There are a mixture of sounds suggesting different techniques, and there is the full, clean sound underlying a lot of it. I think that there is a mix of wavetables, FM and analog emulation here across these patches.
I thought about the answer for a long time, but in the end, I just had to guess. Hive 2

I'm probably way off, but I'm going with Serum on this. In this day and age it's really getting hard to tell all these synths apart, with most covering nearly all bases soundwise.. it's the added features that separates them mostly. I mean, any good quality synth is going to do mist things..but some cater to different genres and styles.
Still, Serum is my guess.
