Actually, loaded dice are USUALLY shared. There's usually a trick to them a bit more than just "number lands higher". For instance, there's one type of loaded dice where you have to firmly press it against your palm, or breathe warm breath on it, in order to melt wax that shifts a weight in it. So him using the same dice means nothing
Playground rules for me here was the bottom card of the deck. Monster beats spell, and spell beats trap. If they were both monsters, the winner would be the one with the highest-level monster. If they were both spells or both traps, we'd do the next card.
Love the games becoming progressively more skill based 😂 Putting a black pawn in one hand and a white pawn in the other and having them pick a hand is another good one. Go players, one guy grabs a bunch of tiles, and the other guy grabs one or two to indicate odd or even.
I sometimes like to troll in my locals calling the dice roll by throwing each 5 dices, and the one who is nearest to 21, won the dice roll, like blackjack, is cool and we always laught a lot and let off some tension when we are on last round finals or things like that

Personally, I think the best method is to play a best of 3 yugioh duel to decide who goes first.

Dice are always loaded. That's why you get your secondary decks out and play another game of yugioh to decide who goes first.
And this is why I use the going 1st going 2nd vanguard cards. Shuffle, spread the 2 out and let the opponent pick

best method is revealing the top card of your deck till you spot a monster. Highest beat stick decides.
