- Today we are checking out the womens side of the NRL for the first time! Great way to start out with a State of Origin match. Wasn't sure what to expect but was hoping for a good game. NSW started out extremely strong with a couple really nice tries. Chapman looks like a star from the first time I saw her run with the ball. Really excited for game 2 in a few weeks! Who do all think wins game 2? Are there any major injuries? Who is the womens league goat? Let me know in the comments.

Love the women's game. Reminds me of how the game was played in the 80's. No wrestle, just a lot of adlib footy.
The toughness and love for the sport is there. Its gonna take some generations, but we're already seeing so much improvement in the women's game. As always, loving the NRL reactions mate.
Lifelong league fan…was sceptical of the women’s game to start but is my favourite to watch now. When they started, the girls couldn’t reach the goals from the sideline…a few short years later and they’re nailing them from everywhere ❤😊
I missed the 1st game, so enjoyed this... No problem at all with you doing more NRLW bring it on!

2. Jamie Chapman - prob the best centre in the game but plays wing for NSW
3 & 4. Jess Sergis & Isabelle Kelly have been the best centres for years and are poster child's for the NRLW

1. Tamika Upton - Best player in the Game
4. Evania Pelite - Rugby 7s Olympic Gold Medalist
6. Tarryn Aiken - Best 6 in the game
13. Ali Brigginshaw - one of the goats
It's great to see the Women's game getting bigger every year. This game rated higher on FTA television than any NRL or AFL game played so far this season. Game 2 in Newcastle is already on track for a sellout and it will probably break attendance and TV records for Women's Rugby League.
As an AFL fan . This really surprised me . I think Women's Rugby League is more advanced and entertaining than Women's Aussie Rules . Good honest game .
14:18 pointing at name/name's written on wrist tape. Probably family/loved one's. A lot of players write their loved one's on wrist tape as a constant source of motivation.
Wests Tigers fan here, I enjoy watching the Women's game more than I do watching the Tigers, it's a more exciting brand of footy and that's sad to say but great as well.
The origin game was fantastic.
The Womens NRL hasn't started yet. There aren't as many Womens teams as the men's, but it's growing. The women play 35-minute halves and the men 40 minutes halves. Tameka Upton is fantastic player much prefer her in the Red and Blue ( Newcastle Knights) than the the maroon thing lol come on the Blues. Allan Ferguson the commentator was a great player too. She played 5/8 for NSW and Australia was watching her on the footy show one day were the players have to pass the ball through a target were the bull is a 1m diameter hole as many times as the can in a time frame. Allana was one of the commentators so was in a dress and high heels and she was trying to her give the ball the Andrew Johns and Brad Fittler, but when the buzzer whent off to stop she was behind everyone took one step forward and passed it straight through the middle no problems in a dress and high heels.
let me give you a few tips on the shirt numbers. 2 and 5 are wings . 3 and 4 are called centres and are placed just inside the wings. 6 and 7 are the half and 5/8 or standoff in rugby union . they control the game. numbers 8 to 13 are the forwards heavy usually and not usually fast. numbers 1 to7 are the backs usually lighter but always fast. the game plan always revolves around the 7 and 6..sometimes the 9 gets involved as well. numbers 14 and up are the reserves.
By the way, on that England VS Ireland Six Nations 2024 match. Squidge Rugby made a video on it. I believe it's called "How did England win?"

Don't worry about not noticing the women's NRL (NRLW) as it hasn't started for this year yet. They play a short season as they mostly still have regular jobs.
It's still growing, not every club has been admitted yet. They expand it every couple of years so hopefully soon all 17 clubs will be a part of it.
I know at my club (Manly) they're working their way up the junior grades so should be ready to field a top grade team next year or 2026.
On your point regarding point differential, it's why they moved to a 3 game series. Last year was 1-1 but QLD won on point diff. Not sure how it works in a 3 game series, might be the same. In the mens game, if it goes 1-1 and 3rd game is a draw, the previous years winnner retains the shield (edit: they have since added in extra time to decide, this was the old ruling mb)

If you have not yet picked a State of Origin state to follow, pick Qld. Following NSW is like following a team that loses to their own zamboni driver. :D
I'm not sure why it's 35 minutes per half. The women's Super League does 40 minute halves I believe. There is some highly scientific reason for it, I'm sure.

chapman is fast but teagan berry is the fastest . a state 100 m champion and can do 100m in 12 seconds . watch her tries on utube . amazing speed.

The mens Queensland side have always had the 'underdog' status, because their team always on paper should get beaten, but that really doesn't make sense now adays as Queensland have gone on to win 14/17 recent games. Most of the greatest players from the last 2 decades are all Queenslanders as well, almost 2 generations of them. And yes I'm trying to recruit you as a Queenslander..
