Pressurizing the tank worked in getting the gas flowing again for my 97 polaris. But rather than blowing in the tank, hook your shop vac hose to the air outtake and use that up against the gas opening. Tons of pressure and works quickly wihout getting dizzy!
PERFECT VIDEO TO WATCH!!! I honestly tried almost everything you said, but I didn’t spray the inside of the spark plug neither did I try to keep spraying the carb but watching your video gave me the knowledge and confirmation that that’s what I need to do and I’m so looking forward to getting my build running tomorrow🙏 thank you
Thank you so much!! I’m not a two stroke mechanic so this was a big help! I guess an engine is just an engine. Pulled and cleaned plugs, ( they looked pretty good). Checked spark, ok. Found an old bottle cap…cleaned it thoroughly….poured a cap full of mix down each hole. Fuel, and filter looked and smelled like gas so I took a chance. Fortunately the tank is almost empty so headed to the airport to get some airplane gas. Got a few seconds run out of each pull, but six or seven tries and it runs like a watch! Thank you a bunch. You just saved us some valuable time in the midst of a pretty good blizzard.
great video, I just did all that before seeing your video. I put the air nozzle from my compressor in the tank with my hand over it to pressurize the tank, disconnect fuel lines at carb and pump a pint through the lines and fuel pump into a glass bottle to check for water. Thoroughly cleaned both carbs, found both pilot jets clogged. Installed new fuel filters on each line and a shutoff valve. Just like an outboard, they start easy when they're setup right.
Great job? Clear, concise, and to the point. Great pace, and decent vid. Could maybe get a few close up shots when speaking about a few things (from our perspective) that are a little harder to see. Loved it. Just saying; )
its funny today i got my 81 400 jag running and i fixed the key and was testing spark and it started and ran on one piton wile i was holding the other sparkplug
To be reliable. Change ALL fuel lines. Remove carbs and proper rebuild. Most important: the pistons have been sitting for who knows how long. Before a start is attempted if the engine has been sitting there is a real possibility of piston rings fused to the cylinder walls and or the Pistons themselves. Remove spark plug, drop some transmission fluid into each. Let sit for a few days. Gently pull the starter rope with spark plugs removed from their boots, boots away from ability to ground Proceed with clean gas clean tank by removing pit some gas in the tank, shake vigorously and drain into an eco friendly container aka collect the tainted fuel use a funnel and place into a container that is accepted at recycling facilities. Right thing to do if it does start and you want reliability as in running a trap line, rebuild the engine. Winter is unforgiving and hungry predators await your demise as in wild animals are hungry. No disrespect to vid creator. As a trapper . What was disappointing was that the sled wasn't strated.
If peoples old sled has no spark you should show them what to check for like check the coils or the magneto where the points and condenser is that kind of stuff
boy I just learned that even if you see spark them plugs may still need replaced. If you have spark it will prolly start but it may run like crap if the plugs really arent any good
it stilll amazes me how many times I though something else was wrong....like did I clean the carb well enough, did I clamp all the fuel lines, and I change the plugs and all the problems go away lol
I have a 1998 skidoo formula III that I've done everything to I've cleaned the carburetor's like 2 times put new gas in fixed the choke system I think it might be spark plugs but, I'm not sure they have barely any spark but when I first got it it would fire up start and run then die but now it won't even fire and I'm tempted to just sell it for damn parts
I had the same issue with my 98 there was air bubbles in line so primer wasnt putting any gas to carbs , pumped till all bubbles were out took line off primer gas line let er flow till no bubbles .fired up right away after
Use premium gas in small engines; they just run better. I wouldn't use premix for starting purposes - go directly for the heads. You can prime with oil too, just press the throttle a few times, it will force oil in the cylinder. #MechPump I use a graded dropper for priming, so I know exactly how much I am putting in there. How can anyone know if your technique worked, if you didn't even start this one? XD #CaptainObvious

Thank you it finally started because when I blew into the gas tank it finally started to suck gas and started thank you 👍

Keep making these videos. Very educational
Great video, you saved me from buying a new fuel pump, and fuel primer pump, and the aggravation to install them. Thanks
i really wanted t o hear your sled run. great tips video thanks alot
He got all the chicks 🐔in the background
Damn birds lol
Hey man nice video what kind of oil did you put in the windex bottle?
its funny today i got my 81 400 jag running and i fixed the key and was testing spark and it started and ran on one piton wile i was holding the other sparkplug
Good video man!! Keep them coming
Thanks and got 2 more this week!
Please do a carb clean on a old sled !
Okay! Will do!
If u have questions u can always dm me on instagram

Very good video working on 1999 ski doo mxz 600
Very informative. Working on getting a new to me 2000 Pantera started. EFI that has been sitting a while.
It's helpful to get a service manual sometimes with those earlier cat efi systems. Hope u can get it up and going! Let me know if u need assistance
Kick a** video! Love it. ThAnks bro !
keep posting👍 love the vids
Will do!!
Injector oil?
Yup
50:1 mix right down each piston the pull !!!!
Lol yup done that too
@@bearkreekboys then go through the big 3 item list spark air gas and have fun riding!!! the big 3 list works on any gas motor!!!

What do u mean?
If peoples old sled has no spark you should show them what to check for like check the coils or the magneto where the points and condenser is that kind of stuff
Okay I could make a vid about that
I hope he did a gun video after this and shut them damn birds up
Put some mixed gas down spark plug holes. You should've stated that one...

Never hurts to throw a new set of plugs in!
