How To Increase Traction & Improve Acceleration - Air Lift 1000 Install (Mazdaspeed 3)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 вер 2024
- In this video we install Air Lift 1000 air bags into the rear coil springs of the Mazdaspeed 3. This prevents the front end from lifting too much which maintains more tire contact with the road, improving traction and straight line acceleration. It's definitely a mod worth doing even for stock applications. We found that inflating the bags to a pressure of 15-20 psi was a nice compromise between performance and comfort for daily driving. You can really see the difference those make , that's insane . Will definitely be adding those to the mods list . You guys do awesome videos man. 👌 and your car sound nice as too bro 🔥
Thanks man, we appreciate that:)
That's not gonna go anywhere -Every dad ever
Haha you guys are awesome keep it up ! More comedy :)
Couldn't you just get adjustable damping shocks and it would do the same thing
I wouldn't be surprised if stiffer shocks helped a bit, but I imagine the ride quality over bumps would be harsh. I'm sure stiffer springs would definitely work but might also be harsh. I'm not even sure if there are any specifically stiffer springs available on the market for these cars. The thing I like about these air bags is that they keep squat to a minimum, but also keep the ride comfortable. All they're doing is limiting the travel of the springs, not actually stiffening them :)
These are sitting in my shopping cart on Amazon now ….damn you! Damn you to hell!!! 🤣
You like them ok on the street daily driving?
Great install guys! Love the videos always!
How did the auxiliary injection install go? Will there be a follow up video about it?
Hey thanks a lot man! The install went very well, and yes there will be a follow up video :)
@@WannabeTuners great to hear guys! Looking forward to seeing the video! Keep up the great content, I always get excited when you post a new video 😊
@@mozzymoz21 Thanks for the kind words brother:)
Fuck Olives 110% my fellow Ontarians.
Just got mine in today and thank you for providing the part number! Cant wait for you guys to make a new vid.
What option did you choose it’s not showing Mazda 3 and the sub model
They aren't made specifically for this car. You have to buy the set with part number 80754. Those are the ones that fit :)
@@WannabeTuners Thank you
@@ThePandaboi9 You're welcome :)
I really have wanted to do this to my car but can't with the bc coilovers 😫
Aren't the shocks and springs separate in the rear, even with coil overs?
@@WannabeTuners they are, however the springs are much smaller than stock and they are kind of tapered and I can't find bags small enough
@@ZJSProMedia Oh I see. I wonder if the springs could be measured and paired up with a smaller set of bags from Air Lift
@@WannabeTuners maybe. Definitely something to look into now that I'll be pushing 380 ish to the wheels rather than 290😬😅
@@ZJSProMedia Absolutely! It's a massive improvement
8.00 that's what she said lol ( the lube really helps.. lube em up 😅🤣) I already love this channel lol you guys are a good colab together
This is such a good idear its not even funny props to yall man epic info
Awesome!!! I need this too! Whenever I get on it the car squats and rubs rear tires this would be cool! Great video as always!
Love the vids boys! And I’m going first thing in the am to find me a 2.3t badge! I drive a 2010 Ms3- single exhaust exit with matching bumper :) Thank you for all the vids and legit information! I love the little subtle touches
Thanks man!
Hm that's an excellent idea to have these bags installed if you re on stock set up and I'm assuming pretty cheap too, nice video always enjoy and learning..
Thanks man, I absolutely love these air bags. You get a huge improvement for a good price :)
This is some cool shit!
Great idea! Enjoyed the video!
country boys listening to luke bryan in 05 silverados will hate this video
Haters gonna hate 😆
Even pressure is better when they are isolated from each other. Without isolation, one will always stretch more than the other allowing more pressure in the weaker bag. With weight being added to say just the drivers seat will increase the pressure on that side. More resistance means it will take more pressure to lift that side. If they are in parallel the passenger side would have to overcome the weight/pressure. Even spring pressure can be better conditioned isolated/separated.
That makes total sense, I can see how that would be beneficial as the pressure in one bag will not effect the behavior of the other bag. It's good that they provide two shrader valves with the kit for those who want to inflate them independently of eachother. Even having it setup the way we did it delivers a huge improvement in handling :)
I am a proud 2011 mazda2 and 2006 Mazda 3 owner, I have done all work on them over the lifespans so far. Mazda2 has 118k and the 3 has 198k. I made a set of custom coil over shocks for the rear of my mazda2! It’s much more stiff now! Keep up the great vids!
Added to the mid list👌🏻
Been a while since last video
What was the final results on the 6 port setup
Yeah man, too long! The 6th port setup is running flawlessly. We've got a good handle on how to tune the setup, and we want to make sure we deliver quality content in that video :)
Awesome man glad to see you guys are back at it ...so what numbers are you making now with this setup?
What’s the plans going forward
@@Mazdaspeedgarage Thanks brother, at this point the car is averaging 340 whp in Virtual Dyno with CF 1.01 at roughly 23 - 24 psi. We're still on base timing and hope to settle at 380 whp with more timing. Once we build the bottom end, well push for 450 whp :D How's your Speed 6 treating u?
@@WannabeTuners nice those are good reliable numbers man
Speed6 build is coming along slowly
Piecing together the right parts for the port injection setup
Trying to keep cost down ad much as possible since I'm in Canada and all parts come from the states
Got to love those import fees lol
I hear that brother, but we gotta do what we gotta do to zoom zoom no boom ;) Where in Canada are u from?
Finally! been wait for another vid from the wannabes love the videos and have you finished the aux fuel set up?
Thanks a lot brother! The setup is running great. As of now we have increased boost to 24 psi and collaborated the aux fuel system to the stock fuel system successfully. We're still on base ignition timing but we are really enjoying this setup. We're very excited to finish up a video on that soon ;)
That’s awesome can’t wait to see it. What fuel are you running. 91 or higher?
What wheel set up is that at the end? I’m jelly
18x8.5 +39 offset with 225/45 tires :)
What was that meth bottle you showed? Is that what you add to your gas tank?

You're actually the 1st, I am the first three 😆
@@WannabeTuners I'm a true fan!👍
What an idiot man nice one you got a link for that kit
@@markinnes4521 I don't have a link but several vendors sell it. Search for Air Lift 1000 part # 80754
How would I do this if I have air suspension? My rear is bouncy as hell
I don't think it's possible with air suspension because in your case the air bags ARE the springs. In our case we retain the stiffness of the rear spring and shock combination, and simply prevent the springs from being compressed. For the most part ride quality is comfortable and refined, although if pressure is set too high it gets a bit bouncy ;)
Edit updated measurements
Hi guys, great video. I tried installing the # 80754 3.44 x 5.5 bags in my Mazda3 GT (not 3speed) and didn't like the universal fit. The bags aren't tall enough and must use the spacers which I suspect may eventually fall out. I did some more research recently and found a company in Australia that sells Firestone airlift bags for Mazda3 and they appear to be proper height (don't have spacer at top to take up room for shorter bag. I suspect they list lift bags because North America doesn't have tow rating form Mazda3 but Europe does.
