No more Motrin!?! You know I'm still gonna send it

- So let me set the scene. Its Friday March 19 and just as first breaks ending I'm looking up at the wrong end of an empty Motrin bottle. Now granted I could probably come up with a million and one reasons why going homes justified but then I thought..."Adrian, at the end of a long race you dont slow down....YOU SPEED UP!!" ....and with that lasting visual I bring to you the feature presentation. Get your popcorn and hit the lights
I used to give my teenager crap about watching videos of people playing his video games. Now I got nuthin`.
Lol, my bad
Right? Men really do just turn into big boys with bigger tools and toys
I love how bon Iver is playing
Didn’t think it would fit for a framing situation but that shut kinda hit
Extremely inefficient and dangerous way to cut joists. Beast mode, more like dumb mode. Why were they not cut on the ground?!?
You've inspired me as well!! I gave up the roofing job for a new framing job!!
That was amazing.
what happened, Hey! Wha happened lmfao.
This videos are amazing
bro this video is inspiring as fuck for some reason thanks for sharing
What kind of money do framers make in your area? Do you make pretty good money?
Framing pays wells (if) your willing to hustle. Whoever made the phase "feast or famine" must've been a piecework framer. This semi will pay around 30,000 after tax. If you .make that feat in 2 weeks or 2 months obviously reflects the divide from a well off framer to a glorified hrly framing rate
@@framingbeast720 ok, thanks for the information. I frame and remodel here in TX. Framing pays about 5-5.50 per sq ft at best here.
@@MrC9Oh3 I miss Texas! I graduated from Texas A &M
Oh wow! Thats awesome!
@@MrC9Oh3 less pay there, but you mostly build on slabs, so there's no floor system to frame.
When you fall, please post the video. 💪
15 minutes, pfff...ya, after spending most of the day setting beams, running layout and setting hangers, sure, dropping the i-joists in...15 minutes. Don't forget to let everyone know how long it takes to go back and put the actual hanger nails into the i-joists! 🙄
I always miss framing when I see guys out on a nice spring or fall day, then I remember sheeting a roof in 100+ heat and I don’t miss it quite as much. Doing good work there bud, cheers!
I used to reach and get it now I can barely reach once you bounce your self off a 3rd floor sub floor it's hell y'all stay safe don't get to cocky that's how framers die keep up the good work
There are few jobs I respect more than the men that walk the top plates. Stay safe bro.
Full send mode brother !! I aspire to be as fast and as amazing of a framer as you one day. You really motivate me !! Thanks for all the tips hope you have yourself a great weekend !
Thanks Julien, keep pushing
21 year framer here. You’re killing it my friend.
I sure do wish ALL carpenters lived by ur Motto, "stay in ur comfort zone, stay in ur lane" as a laborer, there's been some hard carpenters I've had to work along side
I’m a great carpenter and we share the same last name.
Good job framing man. Can hear My uncle Say . You're going to learn how to measure and fingernails or you're going to get the hell out of here. Lol heard that alot.👍😜🍺🇺🇸🥥🤔😎✌🏼🤘👉💪👉👷🤙.
2 things.
1.) cut those boards before you send them up
2.) Place all boards into the hangers first then go back and nail them. The time it takes you to get out the nailer and put it away for every board adds up.
I think Larry Haun would be impressed!
nah, get rid of the gun, then he will.
You're kidding me right? A roofing square gloves and a nail gun?
If you took 15 minutes straightening your wall then you can mark your 2 outside joists, snap and run, working along up there isn't always the fastest or best way, it just makes you look official, but there is always a better way
Larry Haun has nothing against nail guns
Naw dude Larry was quality first. Speed second. This guys the opposite
impressive worker, must be a piece worker, did it for to many yrs myself. When u hit about 45 youll start droppin gears. Back, Knees, Hips, Shoulders... Its comin brother, enjoy watchin your channel, why I miss it idk but i do..
Thankyou, you miss it because the sense of accomplishment trump's the little aches and pain
@@framingbeast720 I can attest to this, sort of. Mechanical engineer of 25 years. Was very close to making contracting a career occupation. The one thing missing from engineering is the same sense of accomplishment and gratification from a hard day’s work. It’s important for the mind. Keep the vids coming.
@@framingbeast720 you sound like a fool if you're not the owner making the big dollars or you're not planning on being the owner one day you're wasting your time
@@erickhanes7517 Eric I "own" the business. I thought I made this clear but I guess not. I have over 36gs in uncashed cheques that I'm in no rush to cash. Am I getting the point across?
@@framingbeast720 Oh damn, no wonder your up there banging those frame out like you do. When i did side jobs with my older brothers (there own jobs when they weren't working with the union or even weekend gigs for extra cash) they be right there in the mix working twice as fast as everyone else. One day i asked them both why they worked so hard when they had other guys they were paying and they said it put more money in there pocket plus it motivated everyone else to work harder which also put MORE money in there pockets. Idk seeing you work the way you do takes me back to when i was a teenager working jobs with them. They were tough on me but i loved it anyway :)
My ground guy sent me here. Says we’re related. Told him to get back to work. BIGG TIME!
Lol pleased to meet you brother
Lol. Bigg time!
Watching you hopscotch around on board edges, bent over and lifting joists into place on a cold morning reminds me why, at 60 years old, i demoted my self to renos instead. I’ll just get my framing fix from you. Keep it up.
Thanks, I'll run for both of us
@@framingbeast720 the only runs he gets are after coffee
Yup that's why after 22 year's framing I'm installing shower inserts now I loved framing but it's a young man's game
I would of just chalk lined the top of the joist measure on each end and used speed square to get a next to the saw to get a straight lined
But no one asked you did they bruh??
Close
@@fps4wheeler445 I did I asked him
@@fps4wheeler445 you sound like those fools that get sent home cuz they don’t listen.
I love watching people that are masters of their craft.
Thanks a lot. By no means a master, just enjoy what I do
At the beginning of the video, you used a framing square to mark each joist. I lay them flat, tack them down real quick, and pop a chalk line across all of them, then cut them while they are laying flat
Hard to lay them flat, when they're hanging from a beam at the other end. Should have pre cut them before installing
@@jayframes4967 no need to pre cut when the beast is up there hahah
Exactly why he’s faster than you. I was gonna say the same thing, except why are you handling materials 3 4 times. Set them in place like he did snap a line at the tops and square/cut from there. Then your not continuing to follow crooked (if your wall has a bad tp bump in a spot (you all know it happens no matter how much you bitch “save the straight lumber for top plates). Not saying either ways wrong but your working to hard put them in and set them first instead of a “quick tack nail” you gotta set them eventually do it now. 👍 no hate bro
I just read my “faster than you” part that came off way harsher then meant bro.
Sorry for the double comments, but this guy is Fucking AWESOME!!!!
I hope to be as speedy as you one day !!!! 2 years in the field , still nowhere close to your level !
not worth going as fast hard on your body
@@orlandorobles-cruz3942 True ! Age forgets no one !
I used to be a framer for 7 years not worth the money th'e pay Illinois making. $35 W2 with benefits still not enough they don't call it rough framing for nothing the very first word should tell you hot summers cold Winter there's a reason why there's a shortage of skilled Tradesmen in the United States
Would have been twice as fast to cut the I joists on the ground. Much safer also. A “cut guy” could have had them cut before you finished putting your hangers on and laying out the walls.
Bon Iver into Mumford and Sons playing in background, sweet as
This is awesome 💪🏼
Nail them joists, chalk a line, cutoff at with a chainsaw
Man I wish I had worked with people as humble as you all of the people I worked with in framing always had to be d!cks and tried to bring down everyone else
that's what you get with ppl working jobs they were forced to do because they have no other options because of wasted potential vs ppl that actually chose to do this type of work...same thing in form work and even worse in roofing
@@nicolasdagenais396 oh yeah I’ve had my share with roofers
I like the fact you're a carpenter, yet not a jerk! Just because a person is a carpenter/framer doesn't mean he, or she should act like a jerk toward people! Very Nice 👍🙂! Thanks for sharing with everyone. Kindness NEVER costed anyone anything...a little kindness goes a long way!
Fuck that…get on the right page or get outta the way!
this shit gets me pumped up man
Snap a line across the top way faster.
Good thinking mate
No Shit!
Wow really?? No tape measure? No ground man. Wow amateurs.
Well, now I understand why houses are crooked as fuck. Y'all need to slow down unless your professional
Dude , love everything you do.
But why not snap a line end to end and cut it.
Big picture?
And rinse and repeat??
👍👍
In my opinion doing it the way he did is better For cutting purposes. He’s giving himself a point of reference for beginning of cut and end. Snapping a line across the top you’ll still wanna mark them out. He’s saving himself a step.
@@mattinman1257
As long as the wall is straight this is true.
I generally try to correct for the imperfections as I go up each level because the walls are never perfectly straight. Things can tend to start growing in or out and I like to reset outside dimensions every floor as I go up.
But in some cases it won’t matter.
Also a guy that frames a lot can site cut straight without a square line, even a floor joist.
I’m pretty sure this guy can.
Does your lower back hurts?
Definitely garbage homey better slow down
Psssh... I could show you a trick with a speed square. Mark 1.5, Use nail to mark, align skillsaw with mark and speed square by side, send it. No pencil marks, no need to go back and grab ur saw after marking... Mark n cut, mark n cut. It took a while to get it down but when I learned it I stopped marking joists completely.
Then again You can't really mark with your nails if you got gloves on, now can you... haha!
I can already tell this channel is gonna pop off. I did hvac for 3+ years for a company that did on average 2 houses a day when most companies are given a day per floor so I have insane respect for the speed and efficiency this man can produce. It is not as easy as he’s making it look. Much love and respect from Missouri 🤙🏻🤙🏻Be safe framing beast.
I know it’s a side effect of tough and hard work.... but your grunting always make it seem like you’re in some intense pain
Framers are always in constant pain 22 year's framing 12 years remodeling for me
Glued Hangers Code????? I don't see that in the OBC, SST standard install instructions or Nordic install instructions. If you want to avoid squeaks, keep the joists uniformly slightly proud of the beam, thus when the flanges shrink, the beam won't lift the joist or subfloor sheathing.
This is way cool to watch but its exactly why I built my own house. I dont think work done "in beserk mode" is quality work. Its the difference between fine dining and fast food.
Flip your phone and watch the video
The real key to your speed is your lack of mistakes. All your movements take u forward. No wasted motion or backsteps. Very efficient. Well done. Take a break. It made me tired just watching. Lol.
Why didn’t you cut those on the ground. Or was the building out to bad to chance it?
From what I’ve seen, guys mark and cut them on top of the wall so the marking and cutting can go fast. When the joists are already on the wall, there is room to cut one after the other fast, on the ground you’d be marking cutting and moving the joists individually. The walls are plumbed and straightened before rolling joists. Beast marked and cut 18 joists in roughly 4 min 15 sec, 15 seconds a joist, not bad for a Friday
He needed a specific gap in between the edge of the wall and the end of the truss. If you knew anything you wouldn't ask dumb questions
Walls trail off a bit here and there that's the way to do it so you don't cut all your trusses short
Depends on the crew and situation. My old crew we precut nearly everything only thing we ever really cut in air was our truss tails for subfascia
please dear god stop walking on floor joists not nailed down walking the wall is safer than that lol.
not hating, gave u the thumbs up. i get doing wild shit while framing but you WILL get complacent eventually. just hope when you do get hurt its enough to remind you but not enough to put you down
reminds me of my old job. framing in the cold with Bon Iver playing on the boom box. nice.
so i work in belgium where almost all buildings are made with bricks and i was wondering are 4nails enough 2 on each side ?
Even 1 on each side and then two nails from the rim into the joist. That would be ideal. I like to nail the joist down first then if you need to make a small height adjustment to be flush with the top of the rim just give the joist a little push and it will raise up in the nails

a good example of what happens if u could better run than think... i would have cut them all by one on the ground, would be faster and safer but doesnt look that cool, of course
Top flange of I-joist does not get nailed to header joist? Believe this is recommended by the manufacturer.
Hey bro I was wondering what kind of nail gun you got and what model number it is I like to get me one and I'd like to get me an air hose can you help me out bro appreciate it could work brother
and this is why houses built now wont have the same quality or charm.. houses from the 30's to 70s best quality this stuff now the workers told to move to daym fast this is why we have issues
Awesome work. That Motrin can hurt you if you take it every day for years. You work like you need a lot of Motrin if you take any at all normally. Be safe.
You're literally the definition of "framing beast"
Why wouldnt you cut those before installing? Just wondering
It would take him longer to individually measire the i joists
@@travissteele8033 he did individually measure each joist, just from the outside of the exterior wall plate
Where does this get u? To a wheel chair. Silly ass people. I never work fast don’t need to lol. Got it like that
Awfull quality of beams - a lot of wane. In Russia Ive never seen such defects on osb I-beams.
never heard of gluing hangars before definitely not code in my state but do bet that helps on the squeaking cause those bitches do squeak with them tekos in there

Did you modify the Safety button for the Skil saw
Flushed it up with two part epoxy so like normal skilsaw

You are an inspiration to me. I’ve watched a million UA-cam videos and never wrote that. God bless you bro
Thankyou, I appreciate that
All of those joist should have been cut before they were even put up there
Genuine question and excuse my ignorance, but is scaffolding not really a thing in the states? HSE (health and safety here in the UK) would fucking explode if they caught someone working like that here.
There is a big difference in the standards of safety based on what type of construction it is. If it's residential construction, like the guy in the video, safety is up to the guy/crew doing the work. With commercial construction, OSHA will ruin your day over some ladders and scaffolding.
So you're walking on joists that still need to be cut for length? Carelessness is not skill my friend
Chill out buddy. You are not impressing no one!
Hey bro..
Where do you study .. or where do you learn all framing?????
framing is one of those things you learn by doing. just find a crew and show up everyday. every framer has there own tricks and you as an individual will learn from each member and use it torwards your framing
"don't sacrifice quality" I heard that!
Lmao, I can't man.. Beast mode.. Dude your a framer, you arent special forces calm down.
why not just mark each end, snap a line and go?
