What a stunning horse. 8-) It seems that many people don't even know what a work horse is these days, but I hope we will start seeing more of these being adopted as environmentally friendly alternatives to machines again :-)

@@alisonmccain I heard that some movie directors from the USA and from Hollywood have gone over to the Ukraine or Poland to use real horses for battle scenes which is highly unethical. It is against the law in many countries except for some Eastern European countries where they are still in the dark ages with their legal systems. Very sad and horrific. I have even seen a fair tale for children once where they butchered a horse on set for the film I was shocked and traumatized by that. We need to stand up for the horses and sign petitions.

You would never use a horse this big for anything like that, cavalry is all about speed and all that muscle would still easily get cut by weapons regardless. Heck you wouldn't even dare ride one of these, they could probably throw a rider off the back of them with the slightest sudden movement and they wouldn't notice. All that muscle was born to lift incredibly heavy gear around and look good doing it.
Being that a Belgian Draft often does farm help such as plowing, they cut the tail so that it doesn’t get caught. But still doesn’t deserve to be cut so short, he definitely needs the tail.
If he's a working horse, they would need to so the tail doesn't get ripped out. But i agree, the tail is usually long and flowing. Stunning animals. I've seen them with a cropped and wrapped tail, this may be easier for the working horse, I,m guessing of course..
